Seems like as good a time as any to ask what with the servers dying.
So I'm completely maxed out on Blade Dancer. I've got gear that compliments my play style. Here are some facts:
1) I seem to die a lot. I could probably stand to be more careful.
2) I've not maxed out Golden Gun yet. I'm working on it.
3) I play PvE 99.9% of the time.
4) I've not raided and honestly probably can't really dependably make the time commitment. I've got a lot of shit happening that means I can't give a game constant 100% attention and it wouldn't be fair to others.
5) I really only play with my brother and gaffers.
6) I do a lot of solo play.
So I've got all legendaries and two exotics I use, Super Good Advice and Lucky Raspberry.
Anyways, given these parameters does anyone have any good build recommendations? I've tried all the invisibility shit, and that's cool, but it seems like I'm REALLY sacrificing some important shit by enabling it.
I'm open minded though, and am willing to experimenting. With the way enjoy Destiny would I be better served with Golden Gun or Blade Dancer? So far GG seems kinda shitty. When I spec it to refresh at a decent clip it's cool but I miss all the badass shit in my Blade Dance spec.

Played for a few hours this morning, only won 2 matches. Probably because the game gods took pity on me and dumped me into a competent team.
Still having fun though.
Iron Banner is completely pointless. I really don't understand having "level advantages enabled" when it does nothing. It plays exactly like the standard pvp. The defense stat seems to mean nothing, along with the attack stat and being a higher level.
Seriously, if a level 26 with a blue weapon can kill me at 29 just the same as regular pvp, why even do the event?

Yup! I'll upload a vid in a sec.
Bladedancer is effective at clearing trash mobs but for high level content its not very useful (invisibility can be helpful). GG is your best bet in raids and strikes.

Yup... who approves these maintenance windows in the middle of the day? Where I work, we do this stuff when everyone is asleep.
Why's that? Isn't it a reskin of those two rifles? The Vanquisher can also have a 62 round clip.

Question on Burn modifiers:
If an enemy is Solar shielded, Solar deals extra damage. With a Solar Burn modifier, would Solar weapon damage to them be further amplified beyond their original weakness?
I'm asking because this week all burns are active. If I hit a Void-shielded Minotaur with a Solar weapon, it will deal extra damage because of Solar Burn. But if I were to use a Void weapon, would it be the same? Or would it deal even more damage (burn+weakness)?
This week's nightfall has Minotaurs (Void), Hobgoblins/Shanks (Solar), Captains (Arc) and I wanna know if any element will be the same against them all or if I have to re equip for different segments.

I don't understand the point of Iron Banner. I'm not getting crucible marks or rep, anyone that can be really good at IB doesn't really need the armor he has. What's the point?

I could be wrong but I believe shielded enemies are weak to all 3 elements, no matter the type of shield.
Pro-tip. Don't worry about it, activate the door and run back up the hill.
Kill Minotaurs with Void. Done.
Also, if they have a Solar shield, your Void will still do extra damage, just that a Solar weapon will have bonuses at 3x on top, usually killing a Captain in like two shots to the head of an Arc Sniper.

And when you are level 26 a level 28 minotaur melts your face.
Damage types will still do extra dmg to their respective shields, but xBurn modified dmg will take down all shield types very quickly.
Last week I was using my arc sniper rifle on solar shields and it was dripping them in no time.

Where you start. Just get a Hunter to revive, or if solo, just come down invisible and shoot 2-3 shots and return.
This is what I was expecting in Iron Banner. From some impressions im getting it seems the level advantages aren't that much. Might be different if a level 13 is going up against a 28

I gotta hand it to Luke Smith and co. at Bungie - killing the raid boss last night was awesome.
It definitely felt like the old WoW days of everyone yelling BURN BOSS! over and over during that short 30 second timer and watching him disintegrate to wild cheers was a fun and familiar feeling.

If your with people that have lvl27-29 then yes. Luckily I think all you need are some coins to buy an exotic armor peice and you'll hit lvl27. I'm finally using ass shards to lvl up my legendarys and exotic but its slow going. Its all about the puplic events I was able to do 4 in about an hour or so and got 2 ass shards. also bought two legendary armors from vanguard just to dismantle them . sad face happy face.

I was having fun this morning when I won a few matches. Just get used to dying to the Suros Regime a lot! It also felt much more competitive than standard PVP. It's probably a good idea to form a fireteam and coordinate.

I have a Aethon's Epilogue with Void damage, in general (not this nightfall), does it do the same damage as kinetic to say a Solar Shield? That is, am I penalized for using the wrong element?
