Square Enix just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in Japan, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.

What this means is the japanese public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Final Fantasy XIII for any system, nor will they purchase any of Square's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Square has alienated an entire market with this move.

Square, publicly apologize and unlock Final Fantasy XIII for PC right now or you can kiss your business goodbye.

I dunno if it'll work yet, but look up gedosato, that allows you to downsample with some games and it's the easiest method, outside of using nvidias DSR if you have a 970 or 980. If the resolutions are hardcoded into the game it won't work though(Nor will any other downsampling methods).

The only good thing about being stuck at work is that I won't have to test this kind of stuff. By the time I get home, I'll already know if the game is GeDoSaTo compatible, if it even accepts custom resolutions and etc.
