I agree he's pretty solid, but even the FF Versus stuff is a bit... off. But things change, I'm not going to ding him for that, given how close he was and the troubles of the publisher in question. Here's the post I'm remembering:

I can spill the following comfortably though since I think this developer is a bit of a joke, and I think people are beginning to suspect this anyway. Versus XIII will have another unveiling later this year regarding development for the next generation. It won't have the "Versus XIII" part in the title. It will definitely release in 2014. You can have my account deleted if this information turns out to be inaccurate. News is fresh on this and I'm really confident about it. FF15 and FF16 are underway, both next generation projects. There's a chance FF15, in particular, may be an exclusive release. Kind of. And with that, I'm off to sleep.

But the reality is there's a demo in 2015 that comes with a Final Fantasy HD remaster (Type-0) releasing in March. I find it amusing because I still remember evilone got banned because he swore up and down FF XIII was going to release by the end of 2008, and instead had a demo that came with a Final Fantasy HD remaster (Advent Children Blu-ray) that released in March.

But like Verendus said, it's Square-Enix. The games' own directors probably aren't a lot more accurate about release dates that far out.


I am starting to get salty about Yakuza though. Considering the usual timeframe for localization it's still not impossible to get Ishin, but we're about at the end of a reasonable announcement window. Verendus, I'm hoping that wasn't one of the lies you told to cover your tracks.

edit: Oh damn, he got banned. Time to bold some stuff I guess.
 
Verendus is banned and suddenly this thread became even more interesting. What is going on?

He never really comments about MS or Nintendo plans yet he has made quite a few accurate Sony predictions. He hasn't claimed to be a decision maker, only passing along cryptic info when it comes down to him from above. He jokes a lot, but if you read his more serious posts you can tell he does work for Sony.
 
SSM hired a high profile graphic tech dude who worked at Ubisoft on AC:U, FC4, and in CDPR on The Witcher series. I SO want to see their new game!
 
I wonder if David Jaffe is making triple A console game again, isn't there rumor that he maybe partnering with Sony for his next game? And his new studio name is something supernatural

I wouldn't mind another God of War if it was a reboot with different characters, setting, mythology but similar gameplay. Though ultimately I really just want a game that fills up the character action niche that GoW filled.

I feel that if SSM makes a linear game again, it will be torn apart by reviewers who will
claim it does nothing new or isn't "next-gen" enough.

One of the biggest take away from the DriveClub review thread was the number of
complaints leveled against it for being strictly a track racer with no open world elements.
For the same reasons I feel the Order 1886 will be criticized.

Seamless open-world seems to equate to "next-gen".

Reviews don't really matter as both driveclub and destiny have proved. I'm already getting tired of open world games with boring level design

I can see this working. I certainly want the next GoW to be less linear, with a free camera and more options for exploration. I honestly think adopting a style similar to Zelda could work, albeit less reliant on 'dungeon' areas. Whatever they do, I really hope it gets some significant design changes from its predecessors, and I want it based around a new mythology.

Yeah, it was called something like The Barlett Paranormal Detective Agency, and rumours were that Sony had picked the game up.

Yeah, I completely agree. Open world is not inherently good game design, but there seems to have been a shift in gaming press whereby they think a lot of games that aren't open world aren't ambitious enough. Give me a well-paced linear game over a typical open world any day.

I can see a young Zeus trilogy relating to the rise of the Gods of Olympus and the fall of the Titans - it presents a lot of issues story wise but it could be done.

Kratos in his prime was godly. God of War 3 was a joy of a game all things considered. The previous 2 on PS2, great games as well.
 
I'm fine with everything but please not another game with Kratos. I liked him and his ascending fury in all the chapters, but it's over.

Next one will be his legit redemption arc, be ready for the next trilogy. Lol

I'm just hoping they left greek mythology because that source has run dry after gow3, but I have no problem with Kratos returning.
 
I would LOOOOVE a "GOW" set in Egyptian or Norse mythology...Norse would sell well, I think, with Thor movies fresh in peoples' minds.

Also, is there a way to check how long someone is banned for?
 
I can't imagine Sony would be holding their own event just to talk about sales and to show a UT4 trailer. I have high hopes for this. Very high.
