Digital Domain does a lot of the effects for these films as well.

Hmm. Quoted from EW

Feige tells reporters that Hulk and Mark Ruffalo will appear in all of the Avengers films, but he has not yet set a stand-alone for him. “Who will be in what movie is a spoiler, due to what will happen to them in the earlier movies,” he says.

Placing my bets now. Surtur, Betaray Bill and Enchantress will appear in Thor 3. Shit will go down with Thor and/or Loki dying, which will lead into a Journey into Mystery spinoff movie with Kid Loki or Sif in Phase 4.

I've never read comics before, really want to start after all this news. What should I read? Are there any big collections I can get? Because I'd rather not deal with a ton of individual issues.

Head on over to the Official Comics thread. People over there are always super helpful. Especially to newcomers looking to get into comics. A lot of the things being recommended to you might get lost in the shuffle in this thread.

Hey guys, remember

if there IS a Planet Hulk movie planned and they shoot him off into space at the end of Age of Ultron, they can't announce it until after that movie comes out

Two things:

I guess the InHumans coming out in 2018 probably precludes Skye in the Shield TV Show from being one

Thor RAGNAROK! YES!!! Although I wonder how they will pull it off in the MCU.

Milk that train Marvel.

Superhero movies are becoming less and less exciting over time, they're all the same.

Man I am glad I stopped watching that, she seems like even more of a Mary Sue now.

lolno, sir. no.

If anything they're getting better, and as CG technology progresses, they'll be able to do things they can't do today convincingly. These movies are getting better writers and directors behind them and we can see the progress over the years. The superhero genre is only growing and maturing.

2017 is when superhero movies will implode, I mean jesus.

You mean explode. Because there isn't a movie I'd miss on that list.

Hope Thor gets back on form, enjoyed the first except the weak ending street fight and Thor 2 was pretty awful with some mildy amusing parts.

Marvel, less easy car chases and throwing cars in your films, it's cheap and boring.

Good for Marvel, if this didn't happen I would have basically written the entire thing off.

I'm not super pumped over the casting choice. I didn't see much from him in 42.

Any word on Captain Marvel yet?

Thor 3 needs Surtur as the main villain. Then we can get this scene:

I'm REALLY excited that they made Thor 3 after all, especially if we get Surtur as a villain. Thor has one of the best villain lineups in Marvel aside from Spider-Man, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four.

Wat... No, not at all. And how would that make her a Mary Sue? Since early on in the show we knew her origins were
mysterious. People (at least what from what i've seen in some comics), can be born normal and if they get touched by
terrigen mist become inHuman (Kamala Khan for example.) Technically they were inHuman all along but they couldn't know.

Doesn't somehow make her a mary sue. :/

I posted this in the other topic but I think it bears repeating...

After my excitement has subsided, I'm kind of starting to play Devil's Advocate on this. One of the main reasons why the MCU has been so successful has been because the movies are SO GOOD. There's been 1-2 missteps (Incredible Hulk, arguably Iron Man 2), but basically everything has been top-notch, even GOTG which I thought could be the first real MCU bomb. (got proven seriously wrong on that one...)

But now, Marvel is blowing their absolute load with Phase 3, which will feature a whopping 9 MOVIES (10 if you count Ant-Man, which has apparently been folded into phase 2) and a whopping 2-3 films a YEAR. As excited as I am about this, I'm a little worried that Marvel Studios might be overwhelmed here, and 1-2 of the movies might end up being complete stinkers, which unfortunately could hurt other films in the franchise as well. Fortunately, Marvel Studios has done a good job with making good movies first and then working them into the MCU second, so I hope that continues. But Marvel might be relying on too many new characters (four of which have never been in a film before) which might alienate moviegoers. I know it's hard to believe, but Marvel isn't making these movies for us comic fans...it was the general public that made Avengers the #3 movie of all time, and that's who Marvel needs to focus on. I just worry they may be going too far, too fast.

haha

The Winter Solider was nothing, absolutely nothing like Guardians of the Galaxy. Shit, Iron Man 3 wasn't even anything like Iron Man 1

but thanks for the post. people kept quoting me wondering why I said this train wouldn't last, because eventually people will have your mindset. they're all from comic books, they're all the same!

I like that they basically said 'fuck it' and just went whole hog on it. Full details all over the jam. I think Boseman can handle it.

Nothing on Captain Marvel yet, casting wise. All we know is it's Danvers and she's stuck between two worlds. I think she's the bridge between Guardians/Avengers

Thor 3 is my most hyped Phase 3 movie. I know a lot of people will disagree, lol.

We probably won't know for a while. Movie is still a ways out and they need a director first.

We only know about BP already because he'll be appearing in Cap 3.

Or Cap 1 to anything in the MCU. Hell AoU looks different from Avengers.
