Fake Edit: Also, guys, Downey seems to basically be down for whatever. Contracts might not mean shit right now. Cap 3 and Avengers 3 going two parter are some real out of left field things that if he wasn't down for, they wouldn't be happening.

Tell that to Ike.

Tell that to Ike.

I tried, he doesn't have a phone anymore. Something about how it was too expensive?

He also made some sort of comment about how they should just feed the extras oatmeal instead of catering, but I wasn't listening by that point

Oh MAN.

JL Part 2 and Avengers part 2 Wonder who's going to make more money.

If I'm a betting man, I think Justice League does well, but Avengers just crushes everything.

we all knew this gif was coming

Re-do this gif and put Black Panther and Captain Marvel near the end.

So where will they take Avengers after the Thanos (Infinity I'm guessing?) arc? I'm not well-read in the comics.

My heart can't even take all this news, nevermind what comes after.

Real talk tho, they'll probably reset the timeline/universe somehow and start relatively fresh, maybe with a couple franchises prevailing past the Infinity War event.

Yeah, we already basically knew about GOTG2 and Dr Strange so those should be first

IMO:

1. GOTG2
2. Dr Strange
3. Captain America Civil War
4. Thor Ragnarok
5. Infinity War
6. Inhumans
7. Black Panther
8. Captain Marvel

I still dislike the retcon of Loki's staff being an Infinity Gem. It makes Thanos seem like a bumbling fool* to already have one and then just give it to Loki to screw up an attempt at getting a second.

*I take it back if this is the Thanos they're going for

I think it's worth noting that Thanos is playing a LONG-term game gathering the gems. Plus, most beings don't even know what an infinity gem is, and it would literally take a flick of the wrist for Thanos to get the scepter back from Loki.

I think the explanation is going to be that Thanos intentionally left it on Earth to hide it on a backwards planet without space travel tech. Who would think to look for it there? The tesseract though, being the space gem, would have been far too powerful to leave in the hands of humans who could actually use it to reach the stars and eventually pose a threat.

is Inhumans worth getting hyped over? I don't know anything about them except I've heard Marvel's pushing them as the X-Men replacement.

It's really not. More of a quirky and off-beat superheroes team (a bit like the GoG) than anything else. People relate them to the X-Men because they are also born with their powers.

Yes. In the grand scheme of the Marvel universe, the Inhuman Royal Family consists of some really compelling and unique characters. It's not going to be anything like X-Men.

Can someone tell me what comics to read for Dr. Strange, Inhumans, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel?

This is the definitive modern take on Black Bolt and the Inhumans. They are also pretty important to Secret Invasion and Jonathan Hickman's FF/Avengers stories.

I see it as if he's just toying with everyone on a galactic scale. It's not like he really needed Ronan for one either. Why get them yourself when you can send your puppets out to cause extra chaos thru-out the galaxy in the process?

Maybe? They're kind of a weird property as its more of a family royalty dynamic and the main character doesn't talk

It'll be really interesting how they adapt it and who they cast

Ah, I see. GotG was my favorite Marvel movie because of how well all the characters worked off each other, so this definitely sounds like something I'll like.

I'm hyped for everything but Inhumans. I've never liked them at all. (and maybe Cap if it's too faithful to the comics... fingers crossed)

Cmon man, it's not going to be anything like the comic.

You're probably right. I hope you're right.

Also Sadly, Katee Sackhoff might be too old to play Carol Danvers at this point.
She'd be in her mid thirties when they film Captain Marvel, how is that too old? It's actually better than casting a woman in her early twenties imo, I don't want Carol to look like she just graduated from college.

Yeah. Keep in mind they're not superheroes though, or even heroes like the GOTG eventually aspire to be.

The Inhumans were kept secret from humanity for centuries, only to be swept up into current events unwillingly. Their stories are typically heavy on the political intrigue/royal family dynamic. Think Game of Thrones + Marvel Comics.

Hm. Captain Marvel and the Inhumans both come out after the first part of Avengers 3. Wonder how that works out for those films story-wise.

Katee Sackhoff is 34 years old right now, so if they filmed in 2017 she'd be 37, and that is probably way too old to attach her to a new franchise with plans for sequel.
