Cap2 > GotG = Avengers > Iron1 > Cap1 > Iron3 > Thor2 = Hulk > Thor1 > Iron2

edit: everyone is rating thor1 over 2... I might need to rewatch 1 but that shit felt as dull as Iron2 to me. I'm struggling to pick out a single aspect that I liked about that movie where Thor 2 has some great stuff.

CA2 > GOTG = Avengers > IM3 > IM1 > Thor 1 > Cap1 > Thor 2 > IM2 = IH

As much as I loved GoTG, The Winter Soldier ended up being my personal favorite.

Winter Solider is ridiculously good. Its the kind of film someone can watch even if they aren't into super heroes at all and get into it.

Thor: The Dark World was the only MCU movie that I just flat out didn't like.

Same I can't even remember the villan.

I'm very familiar with the comics otherwise I probably wouldn't either. The people I know who saw it in theaters before me couldn't even remember the next day when they were trying to tell me about it.

I can vouch this. An aquitance of mine was the other day here in my business meanwhile fixing some stuff while i was playing it and he really liked it, he's not into comic or geek stuff at all and had to borrow it to him (i really just make a copy of it)

M-Malekith.

Not only that but if you're into the MCU, the potential effects can be seen throughout. Which I have hope is the same way I feel about Ragnarok with how it's built up.

The director is known for his Shakespeare adaptations and is well respected, watch it through that lens and there's a lot to like.

I think I judge movies most heavily by their second half, because in general the first halves are all promising. Thor 1 just had a really bland second half, maybe the worst of all the movies if my memory serves me.

I remember wanting that aluminum robot scene to be over, I was rolling my eyes into comma.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier = The Avengers > Guardians of the Galaxy > Ironman 3 > Ironman = Captain America: The First Avenger > Thor: The Dark World > Thor = Ironman 2 = The Incredible Hulk

I wonder when they'd reveal the director anyway for T:Ragnarok?

I would imagine that Marvel will reveal that soon. Feige expects to reveal the writer and director of Captain Marvel soon and that's being released later on, so I think that Thor will also be announced either at the same time or before.

I seriously love Thor 1 even though some here seem to not like it. When it comes to action its hands down the worse film in the entire MCU but I love all the little scenes of Thor interacting with people his first time on earth. It has some really good character moments in it.

I'll give you that, it had some good charm to it. It will be the next one I rewatch.

It's not exactly a thrill a minute. That's the worst thing I can say about it and that's really just my expectations getting in the way.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to that. I hope it's by the end of the year or beginning of next.

I'm actually kinda surprised at the backlash that the first Avengers has received lately. It's not as great as it was when I saw it in theaters (hard to not enjoy a movie at a midnight showing like that) but when I watch it to this day I think it's still pretty strong

Avengers is certainly still good. The thing is though Cap 2 and GotG both are FAR better in my opinion which somewhat diminishes the film. Other than The Dark World phase 2 was so strong and Marvel really seem like they've figured out exactly how to make these films really shine. I expect Age of Ultron to be incredible and be as mind blowing as Avengers 1 was at the time.

Has it really come to the point that Marvel threads devolve into crappy ranking threads only 1 day after major news breaks? It used to take weeks of nothing happening for it to come to that.

I completely agree that Phase 2 is far better than Phase 1, and I like Phase 1 a lot.

Phase 3 man..... gonna be the real shit

It was kind of just the natural flow of the conversation not because we don't have anything to talk about. We were discussing some of the Phase 1 movies which lead to the list. I personally find the MCU lists pretty interesting to see where people rank the films.

Think TWS process or whatever it was just hit the right notes and seems they went with it for GOTG2 and potentially Age of Ultron. It's the right way to go.

Yup, Avengers is still godlike and was a damn near perfect film to represent the Silver age of comics.

Phase 1 Silver age.

Phase 2 Bronze age?

Phase 3 Modern age?

Can't rank them. But I absolutely fell in love with Thor 1 and thought that Thor 2 was okay. The Phase 2 movies that I really liked were Cap 2 and GotG so far.

MCU Tier List Time

Top tier:
Avengers
Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy
Iron Man 1

High Tier:
Iron Man 3
Thor 2
Cap 1 (second half drags it down)
Thor

Mid Tier:
Iron Man 2

Low Tier:
Hulk

Only MCU film I legitimately disliked was Hulk.

The original Thor has much better fight sequences (Thor and Loki donning their respective helmets as well) than Thor 2, and Asgard looked way better also. I found the original way more memorable than the second film

Alright FINE

Top tier:
Avengers
Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy

High Tier:
Iron Man 1
Iron Man 3

Mid Tier:
Iron Man 2
Thor 2
Cap 1 (first half is great)

Low Tier:
Hulk
Thor

But I'm rewatching Thor right now so that's subject to change

Loki was Loki in Thor 2.

Thor 2 wins.

I really hate when the topic turns to ranking MCU movies because people can never agree which ones are the objectively "bad" ones. The conversation inevitably goes round and round in circles.

Still, it's kinda interesting that opinions can be so sharply divided.

Because there's no such thing as objectively bad?
