Well...guess we should have seen it coming...

next Fox will troll Marvel by marketing the hell out of Marvel brand when promoting this Fantastic Four movie hoping that people will go see it because of the Marvel name.

I can't imagine Marvel being happy if their name are associated with this film if it turns out a horrible film.

The first two movies bombed hard already, didn't they?

First one made over 330 million on 100 million budget.

The second made $50 million less on a $30 million higher budget.

So you can see why they shelved it for so long, RotSS probably just scraped by profitability. This one probably has half the budget of the 2005 film, and will clock in close to $150-$175 million just on name alone even if it's complete trash.

Yikes at this whole movie. Maybe it could still turn out good but at this point every choice made so far seems really weird.

With a cast like this:

Thing looking like this:

And Dr. Doom looking like this:

....it's bound to be a good movie, right....?

That's my stance. I"m not going to lie when I say I'm a complete MCU stan. But I still hope that the other studios succeed in making a decent comic book movie.

But Fox and FF...again I'll hold my derision until at least the trailer pops up. But it ain't looking good so far.

The fact that no marketing material has been shown is also worrisome, or a sign of confidence from the studio. No cast photos or anything.

Seriously. Less than a year away, and no official media has been released. It's baffling.

I can see this bombing so hard.

The cast and Thing are fine imo. Not much worse than all the comic book films. Problem is people aren't willing to give them a chance at all. What we've been given so far with the F4 makes the doubt understandable.

I wonder if Doom will swat Reed at some point in the story.
*Camera slowly sweeps into room through doorway. Victor sits in beanbag chair playing the Nintendos*

"STOP SPAWN CAMPING. OH YEAH, WELL I FUCKED YOUR MOM RICHARDS. YOU KNOW WHAT, FUCK YOU AND YOUR LAG SWITCHING. I HAVE YOUR IP AND WILL HAVE XBOX LIVE BAN YOU."

*Victor angrily throws down his headset and controller and stares down at the floor. The shot pans to face Victor and we see his eyes light up as he lifts his head and dials the numbers. 9.1.1.*

"Stretch your way out of this one, Richards."

*Music swells, scene cuts to black*

Given the last two movies and the pretty shitty reception this one has already gotten, they're not going to want to release anything that doesn't look like totally ready to go. Think about every trailer thread ever has people complaining about effects that look rough or unfinished (because they are) -- and those are for movies that most people are actually looking forward to! The first thing they show of this has to be of footage that's completely in the can.

I don't think anyone expected a good movie from this so I'm all for them jumping the shark into oblivion if it means a fun watch when you are drunk with friends movie.

i dont think a ff movie could work. the characters are just too cheesy.

the ability to stretch? how much can you really do with that?
