He was the one who brought the scarf (from the married man) to OP's ex (which made her happier than the vacation on which he took her).

According to the original post, she wasn't. The confusion comes from how OP worded his update; he was saying he knew about both of them and what she was doing.

However, the brother was enabling his brother to cheat on his wife.
