Finished first game and I absolutely sucked. Spent most of the match fighting the controls and trying to find a good pick and settled on halo 4. Game feels super fast paced compared to past halos. Not sure I like that yet, definitely need to give it a few more matches.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the mobility works on larger maps and when vehicles are involved.

I kick ass on Truth but suck at Empire. I guess I'm more of a Sword guy than a Sniper guy.

I am the exact opposite. I can't seem to do well on Truth.

I generally destroy on Empire though...

Mine did that at first, hard reset the system, relaunched and been smooth sailing since. Have to say I'm enjoying this quite a bit more than I expected to. While I don't necessarily agree with all the changes, the game is just plain fun and definitely manages to capture that classic competitive feel so that's certainly a plus.

If you have a BR, back up and keep them at a distance. Don't let them get too close.

You can only back up as fast as they can run forward. And they can sprint, you can't sprint backwards. If you're close, you're relatively screwed.

I wonder if unlimited sprint being in the game is an indication that big team battle will feature much larger gameplay, on much larger maps, ala the Battlefield series?

Pretty fun game but it feels a little off. Hate the high pitch noises.

Smooth matchmaking and tight netcode too, despite I probably was playing on US datacenters but I never felt punished by that, all deaths are just me being outplayed or my own mistake.

In this one empire match I have spawned on top of an enemy grenade, behind a team mate in battle and in front of an enemy sniper location and died near instantly all 3 times.

yeah I'm still on the fence about the sound. I'm glad you can tell when shots are hitting, but the clinky sounds don't sound like halo.

no? You can only use it when you are high enough above an area, and then only down. In that time you could've already dropped down.

Hrmm...the second or two getting back to your feet and readying the run pretty much makes you DOA if you don't hit an enemy and KO them.
