Sprint on the A button makes me gag a little bit every time I use it.

wasnt sprint on a in halo 4? that doesnt seem like a change with 5 thats broken the control scheme. i agree its a bit awkward, but thankfully it doesn't need t be held down or anything.
 
I played several different game types in MCC yesterday, and all I could think about was that I'd rather be playing Halo 5 Beta MP (I was in the preview last week). I found myself constantly trying to sprint, only to remember there is no sprint.

Rocking the default controls so far, I like how that feels.

That's all Sprint. Any other Halo (not Reach or 4), I would be dead.

It didn't look like sprint had very much to do with your surviving in that clip. Falling a full level down and cutting around corners in a tightly enclosed space was the bulk of it. It also hurts to watch you run into walls, which meant most of your run-speed wasn't even being translated into movement. The latter half though, it helped.

That being said, I really like the sound design there.

Remember guys, complain about flinch to no end so they can remove it

Flinch is the only thing stopping the sword though. In other cases it sucks but with the movement buff and super lunge of the Prophets Bane, flinch is the only thing that gives you a chance.

Hit detection seems very questionable when watching replays.
AR also seems to be as potent as a spitball gun from my limited experience. Why even have it?
 
So at first I was using the Halo 4 control scheme because I like thrusters on a bumper and it feels more classic, but then I realized that I had no control over the direction of ground pound anymore. I don't have enough fingers for that :/

Had to switch to default which took me some time to get used to. I screwed up real bad for a few games.

Easy, don't use Ground Pound.
 
Early impressions

-Feels like halo
-AR is strong as shit, and seems to have more range?
-The abilities seem balanced, and Ground pound is hilarious to pull off
- Scope zoom for LT feels terrible imo, I had to switch to HL4 control scheme
-Having power weapon respawn announcements should be removed
-I don't really care for the BR scope, but I do like the DMR scope

Back to playing...

People talked about flinch during the preview but I never noticed it. I wonder how much better I'd be without it.

A lot.

I really want to know what the hell happened.. Josh Holmes clearly said that there was no flinch, and then when the beta comes, there's flinch.

I just realized something. Is the armor customization going to be restricted in the final game? Right now body armor changes the chest, the forearms, and the shoulder.

Something feels off about this flinch/gun animation. Really fucking annoying to have your gun swaying all over your screen.
 
I feel like I'm doing way worse than in the first beta, but I think that's because everyone always grabs any BR on the field as soon as they can, and when I die I have problems trying to find one (I'm trash with the AR but decent with the BR).
