SF2, SFA, and SF3 hardly resemble each other at a mid to high level at all.
Yeah, but you aren't suddenly losing a certain amount of moves between them. It's hard to describe the problem other than Melee allows a lot more freedom then recent Smash games.
Ground and near ground options are cut by like 90% in the new games. I was going to make a thread about it, but thought people had enough of, Melee is better. Since Smash doesn't have any real competitors in the genre people just don't seem to get it.
Basically imagine you played SF 2 and 3 with HK, MK, LK, HP, MP, LP that you could use at almost anytime then SF4 came out and said, in this situation you can only use, HP, LK, in this situation you can only use MP, HK, in this situation you can only use LP, HP. Wouldn't that ruin the game for you?
The great thing about Melee and PM is that you have so much control and so many options that creative play flows through you and the amount of expression through character control is extremely high. Smash 4 and Brawl don't allow this to the same extent so it's like a painter using 5 colors instead of the full color spectrum.
Dabuz literally just running away.
Smash 4 high level play, red flag.
