Well maybe it's 2 hours or 2,5. I didn't measure the time, but the majority of it is cutscenes.
So 1,5 hours or 2,5 hours doesn't seem like a big difference either way. Obviously depends on the player.

If you really get into finding collectibles I'm sure you can spend much more time with it. Or if you play on hard difficulty (which I wasn't).
But my best guess, based on what I have captured it's around 1,5h-2h gameplay and rest was cutscenes. Take the first 4 chapters for example, maybe 35% of that was gameplay. Some chapters consist only of cutscenes. And often times there are these "interactive" cutscenes with QTEs where you need to press some buttons, but I wouldn't count that as gameplay.

It's more of an interactive movie to me, which isn't a bad thing. Hence the film stripes. So calm down everyone. Jesus :D

thats his claim

Just let it go man, not worth debating with someone who is downright wrong. There are 2 people already in here who have laughed at the claim. Let him enjoy whatever it is he is attempting to do.

Trying captions out for the first time.

the answer is no
"Slow clap"

The differences between those pics are pretty stark, but I've been told it's post processing + fog + compression, so not really a big deal.
Another thing to add to that, the segment from the old screen also ran really poorly when first shown. Sounds like it's smooth now.

Let it go dude.. just enjoy waiting for the game and don't worry about how long it takes, I'll believe they guys here who have played it over some random youtube idiot.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00R71A532/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Amazon has a listing for $28, but it's labelled as an "import." Unless I'm missing something, the page doesn't say anything about what territory it's being imported from. I would assume somewhere in Europe? U.K., maybe?

EDIT: It's worth noting this is the first imported product I've seen on Amazon that's Prime eligible.
That's bizzare but I might just buy it.

There was never a downgrade with Driveclub, and by everything we've seen so far, there's been no downgrade with Order.

If anything, much of the game looks better then the pre-release stuff.

Edit: Its just fodder as always, for people who love to compare compressed youtube footage.

Final Build

Pretty close.

The comparison is a bit misleading. I've seen plenty in the final game that looks like the pre-release.
Taken from the retail release

They've obviously just changed a lot of lighting etc around to suit the scenes.

Very impressive looking game, top lighting, so much detail in the building and streets, looks a level up from AC Unity, image quality aside. Of course its a much smaller world.

I rewatch movies all the time. I could easily see myself replaying this if I like the story and gameplay enough.

I replay tight linear games many times and as long as there's a decent chapter select I'll replay certain encounters over and over again. I really don't understand how some people define replay value unless there's lots of unlockables or something. I rarelt replay massive games, just shorter ones.

Exactly! I'd rather replay the story of a classic like Bioshock or The Last of Us than continue to slog through a game I don't really like. Just like movies, on each playthrough you might catch something different, you see things from new pespective. I play at least 2 out of my Hall of Fame games each year. Some games don't live up to that title on sequential playthroughs and are removed. Plus no ones memory is good enough to remember a 10 hour story and year later, detail for detail.

I agree 100% with all of this. Especially the detail part. Very few gamers are thorough enough to catch all the secrets or little details on their first playthrough. There's almost always more to think about or see.

I was saying that as a comparison for whether or not the game was downgraded. Scenes from the most recent trailers will likely be like to like to release.

Going to look into this. By the time I finally get around to watching it, if it doesn't deliver what I wanted, I'm going to send you a sternly worded PM (mainly consisting of me probably crying but you get the idea) in a few months if I still remember it was you. Your life is on the line now.

So far:

"Psychological thriller that takes place in the dark corners of Victorian London" and James Bond starring is a pretty good start. Not bad. Sort of intrigued.

Eva Greene kills it in the show. Highly recommended if you're just even remotely interested in the Victorian era London setting.

I hate the vibe around this game's release. And all because it's an exclusive property, too. SMH
It feels like the console warz are its most heated, like the Sega Vs Nintendo era.

It wasn't aimed at whatever you were trying to do. The comparison has already been viewed as a potential downgrade, as if this is how it generally looks now, a downgrade in lighting and more blurry foggy overall. Actually what is evident is that scene has changed a lot and not representative of the game. My image was from the actual retail copy being played. I posted it to allay fears the prelease look is long gone.

no way RAD would have gameplay that is only 2 hours long. Plus, several people who have played the game have confirmed that it is pretty much click bait and false.

His claims are absurd nonsense, period.

Sadly, such stupid claims can easily become an "fact" for people that will search anything to prove their positions.

Sky will be much clearer in few days, but everyone can aim at proper citings from various GAF members who finished the game and have given a proper estimate of the playtrough.

Also, I can count on the fingers of one hand other games that are using cutscenes and ssetpieces to actually tell the story and setting in the same level as Order. And I will not even use all my fingers.

I've never seen so many people try to destroy a game before it ever even had a chance. The gaming community is truly horrible.

I don't think so. This guy claiming it took him 1,5 hours to finish the game, in reality needed about 10 hours.

You can see it here:

https://www.youtube.com/user/playmethrough/videos

1.5 hours of gameplay is obviously wrong but I don't see why you couldn't beat it 6-8 hours. Out of the chapters he's uploaded the total play time is 2 hours and 23 minutes. Chapter 5 isn't on there but I'm gonna guesstimate based on the PSX demo its a 40 minute mission and chapter 8 is 30 minutes. That 3 hours and 30 minutes for the first 8 chapters. 6-8 doesn't seem that hard to do to me.

its just a wasteland of desperate fanboys looking to destroy anything that they do not like. this is sadly not only in the gaming community though.

Huh.

I think you just sold me on the game, because if it strikes a similar sort of chord as KZ2 that's a very good thing.

Yeah, it's definitely in the same league as KZ2 in terms of gunplay. Shootin' dudes in boulder hats never felt so good.

I don't think anybody is going out of their way to "destroy" this game... I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I've been accused of trying not to like this game, but that's not it at all. RAD has done a very poor job of showcasing this game. They released 11 minutes of gameplay and it happened to be a very slow moving section that didn't ease the concerns of people worried about the gameplay/cutscene ratio. The impressions are nice to see and I've said earlier, I've already got this fully paid off and am getting it no matter what, but I will be shocked if this is above 80 on metacritic. I was expecting low 70s high 60s for a while. Recent streams and impressions have left me thinking- hey maybe they have just done a poor job showcasing the game, lets wait for it to come out.

I noted this earlier in the thread to the one person who viewed it as a downgrade.

Cool.

Speed runs are pretty fun to do.

There was a 30 min PSX demo. The game is a TPS. I'm not sure what exactly RAD is suppose to show off more.

There's a big difference between poor showcase (most of us acknowledge this) and the blatant lies going on like the game's short length claims, the amount of actual gameplay claims, etc.

There's even one outlet that's arguing that Sony is pushing the game too heavily lmao.

the impressions have moved me from not planning on ever playing it to purchasing it at a later time. i just can't justify spending $60 on something ill only play once after i complete the story.
