Amiibo Thread 5 | Because we didn't preorder thread 4

Went to Walmart and decided to pick up an amiibo for my brother since his birthday is coming up and thought why not since he started collecting too. Find out Walmarts on the East coast are receiving MM and Sonic so I wanted to see if they had any MM's.

Me: Do you have any new ones of these? (Showed her Zelda amiibo and pictures of Sonic and MegaMan)

Employee: OH WE DONT GOT DAT. WE DONT SELL DEM IN TOYS.

Me: They're usually sold in electronics near the video games like the others.

Employee: NO. WE DONT HAVE THEM. WE PROBABLY DONT EVEN HAVE NEW SHIPMENTS.

She didn't even want to go back and check even though another employee told me they just got new truck and sending stuff out now. She was a manager. This specific Walmart is never helpful and it sucks. Target > Walmart errday.

I had a similar experience at Target, lol.

Just really depends on who you ask I guess!

It rarely actually takes that long. I got my stuff transfered to my N3DS in about 24 hours. Getting things transfered to my replacement Wii U took about 36 hours. Both of those were in the last two weeks.

I worked at a similar place and I knew everything that was in back as it came in. People thought I just didn't want to check for them and would get super rude with me, so at some point I would walk back wait a few seconds as if I was looking and walk back out.

I don't go to Walmart for the same reason (and the lines being an hour long) but I'd not put it past that she knew what you were looking for and had no idea how to communicate well enough.
 
I hope when I call next week about my Ike my other 3 preorders are still in store. They're supposed to be held past the normal 48 but well see.

I know people want employees to look for them, but maybe she was right. It's doubtful you were the only person to ask about amiibos, the very word causes a shift in tone of retail employees.

Wii Fit Trainer came up 9.99 in the system this morning when I was doing price changes. I didn't even bother printing the label though.

There isn't one. They wouldn't sell through Shulk if he wasn't rare. Then you'd have kids at the store looking at a discounted one and asking who Sha-Hulk is, and why he isn't part of the Avengers.
 
Im calling it now. Wave 4 pre-orders for the US are tomorrrow. I'm basing this on nothing and and will make this prediction daily until it becomes true.....then I will be the hero. This sucks.

Tomorrow or Wednesday while I'm online. I'm OK with either of these because I'm not at work.
 
Just got back from a GS and a Walmart, all I could find was a Toon Link and Sheik as far any kind of "rarer" ones I go I think.

If I can't find an Ike by Wednesday, if anyone's willing to trade for these two plus cash I'm down for that.

Which is funny considering Nintendo fans don't know who Shulk is or even Lucina. I know what game Lucina is from but I'm still uneducated on who she is. I doubt most kids these days even know who Megaman is. Doesn't anyone know who Ness is? We only got an official release for Earthbound last year.
I dunno, it just seems silly to me that Nintendo would be worried about characters not being popular and are playing it safe by only stocking the more well known ones.

I've seen the situation there. Over here in the UK(Europe in general actually) Ike is very common and in stock everywhere.

I had a similar experience to this at WalMart a few days ago buying a N3DS. The employee said they never got any and I told him the website said they have some in stock (even though I expected it to be inaccurate). He got a hold of a department manager who confirmed they had a bunch in back. It took him like 30 mins to get it to me but I got it.

YES!!!! Finally got my Mega Man after looking around at various stores. Ended up waltzing into an obscure Walmart Supercenter a couple towns over tonight and this is what they had (after I picked up two Mega Mans and a Sonic).

Picked up the second Mega Man just in case there is an Amiibro who is wanting him. Gonna go to the traading/selling thread to see if anyone wants it, at cost. I still have a Mega Man pre-ordered with GameStop but I'm just going to cancel that now.

Welp. I know what I'll be doing tonight.

But, oh well. It's not like I don't have this thread opened all hours of the day anyways. I'll just be refreshing it more than usual!
