Official Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer – “Gotham is Mine”

Looks great although im hoping they will evolve the melee combat. Got boring to me really quick in the first 2.

Modern non gamers/digital foundry fans seem to watch game trailers by watching the new ones and then comparing scene by scene with the old ones. Pretty hilarious.........or sad. Depends how you look at it i guess. Nah its mainly sad lol.

Person investigates reasons behind this - discovers differences
 
Now that's a trailer. Still don't quite like the art direction, but I can't lie and say that didn't pique my interest.
 
Having never played any game besides Blackgate, I really really hope we get a full current gen collection. Don't think I'll be booting up the 360 to play the originals.

Eh without looking at any specifics I could tell that the graphics in the recent trailer werent quite up to par with the old ones...Im not super concerned because I know this game is still gonna be ballstothewalls awesome but still...it kinda sucks a little bit.

Sorry, I am a player since 1982, so no "modern non gamer" here. The same second I've seen the new trailer I remembered the car scene in the previous trailer and the moment when it was. You can read my message before the gif.
 
Wow! Harley and Ivy's faces looking outstanding. Scarecrow also looks suitably terrifying. Getting Batman: TAS vibes from him. John Noble is excellent casting.

Dwelling on the past always seems pointless to me. Especially about video games or video games that still look as good as this one....

Anyways these new models look incredible, they finally managed to get rid of the horrid unreal's signature of overly ripped and oversized bodies and it's very noticeable, especially in Gordon. The faces look fantastic too, The Riddler looks like a terribly frightening psychpath.

If it's any consolation I just picture what the guy (it's always a guy making these comments) sitting behind the keyboard looks like.
 
I like the new Poison Ivy. Moving away from the exaggerated style they actually made her more intimidating, personally. They made all the characters look far more intimidating in fact. Two Face and Scarecrow look legitimately scary and that's awesome.

When I say old Poison looked better I don't mean more beautiful, I just mean better. She looks too generic for my tastes right now. I prefer Ivy to look like a semi-plant, not basically human.

Her Asylum design wasn't perfect but I'd prefer if they improved it instead of going a completely different way. I really don't give a shit about which one looks more sexy or whatever.

Agreed. I'm getting flashbacks to the shameless criticisms of Maggie Gyllenhaal's supposed unworthiness as the love interest in TDK. "Lol, Wayne and Dent can't do better than that?"

Did anybody say she was ugly? (Ive scanned back through a few pages but could have missed it).

I prefer the old design just because she looked the same in the previous games so it just seems odd to completely change her look for the 3rd game. Not saying one is sexier than the other (if anything the new one is definitely more realistic) but it still seems a bit odd just to completely change her look for no apparent reason.

Yea i agree, no game up until this point had a different model and shaders between the platforms, the assets were the same.
If there is a downgrade I can't see the PC platform not affected.

Gotta love it when game companies debut their game trailers with PC footage and wonder why they get the vocal minority sending them hate when the console versions don't look as next gen-y.

Everything looks more grounded in reality now. Like the Nolan films. As i said i think it looks wonderful but my preference is more with the over the top character designs. Everybody in AK looks completely different. There's going to be a disconnect from AA and City. I wonder how Killer Croc is going to look if he's in the game.
 
This trailer got me hyped, I immediately preordered.

Also the new Poison Ivy is clearly based on Renee Zellweger. I'd post a pic but... Mobile.

I would consider that a problem if they weren't honest about the face that the original demo was actually played on pc.
 
The best redesign is The Riddler imo, I wonder if we will see Bane and Croc in this game. They barely fit into the new design at all.

Scarecrow looks fucking amazing.

I also love Harley's face now, glad they fixed it.

Her animation in that gif is great, first she is all sad because of the Joker and then she tries to act strong.

Why do you think it won't? Like I said up until this point assets were identical, no way PC will have better models with more polygons and shaders while consoles will have different low res assets. Can't see this happening.
