Amiibo Thread 5 | Because we didn't preorder thread 4

I hope Wave 5 has Dark Pit, Ganondorf, Palutena, and Greninja (and Zero Suit Samus, why do I keep forgetting her and her skin tight outfit?). Then I'll be done with the smash series.

It very well may not be, but the announcements from a single wave do not make a legitimate trend I'm willing to trust. Exclusive or not, anything at this point is speculation until a retailer list leaks or the wave 4 preorders go up.
 
Well, just did an Amiibo run and got myself a Mega Man and Sonic.

Went to about 5 stores all told. Two Best Buy, one TRU, one Gamestop and one Wal-mart. All were a bust except the Best Buys.

Well, to be more clear, the first BB I went to didn't have anything, but it led me to another BB that had both in stock, which they held for me.

The guy that helped me out at the first BB was really cool, he was an amiibo collector as well, and understood. Of course I was looking for Meta Knight, and I JUST missed him. Gah!

The same guy told me that someone came in earlier in the day and tried to buy all four that they had, he stopped him and said there is a limit of two. So the guy went outside and got his wife and she bought the last two.

Fucking scalper.

I missed MK by about 30 minutes. :( Well, at least I got my MM and Sonic.

Edit: And as for wave 4, I am willing to be there and pre-order day 1, I just hope it isn't a one hour or less preorder for Ness. Please reward those who are at least willing to go and preorder day 1.
 
Anyone at Nintendo World? Wondering what the stock situation is like. I was out of there by 9:30am but boy was it cold this morning. I just need a pristine Lucario in box and I'm good. My box is a little jacked due to TRU.

Also, off topic but that skull kid figure that came with majoras mask limited edition looked awesome. Sad I missed out.

Yeah ... it wasn't that hard to figure out, the certifications weren't there when i checked a coupled days ago.
 
Ike shipped, UPS price was stupidly high but quick. So hope the person likes getting it next week.
Sonic still on offer. If you want less than $15 shipping, the USPS might be best.
 
Hilariously, despite what I said earlier I stopped by Best Buy to pick up a DVD and they'd JUST gotten some Sonic and Mega Man amiibos off the truck. Grabbed both, so happy to have both now.

I lost my optimistic outlook about a week after series one was released, it was clear these were gonna be a headache long before buying any.

I keep forgetting about Zero Suit Samus.

Okay, now there are only TWO must-have Amiibos for me: Ness and ZSS, the latter especially as a companion to my regular Samus.

Wave 5 is going to be epic.

Hearing stories like this makes my blood boil.

I know we're just talking about toys (or "neat Nintendo merch," however you want to put it), but such behavior is so fucking selfish.

Not just a single wave, but also with the Gold Mario amiibo and the Super Mario line which also didn't have any last minute exclusive announcements. There's no reason really to assume there will for Wave 4, but I can see the trend in here is being Chicken Little about everything, which I somewhat understand, but it's not all warranted.

It amazes me people are totally fine putting Ike for $25 and throw in $5 shipping that takes a month.
 
I was thinking about the scalper situation and in the end people who really want them get them right? I understand it is shitty that people are getting them and making money but if someone really wants them for way more than the original price how is that so bad? I was going to sell my mario since it was going for a shitload on eBay but decided against it - well my wife really wants him. I hate the gold

look of him. The big argument is people who want them won't get them but who says the people who pay a ton don't really want them too?

I considered getting a few of them that I can't get from the stores for a bit of a markup since the people who got them did the leg work for me and paying more is warranted I think.

I'm sure people will shit on this idea but it isn't that bad if you value your time. At least to me.

I think Duck Hunt is the only other character with a weird pose that may have some hard poses. Everybody else that's left has mostly standing poses with both feet on the ground.
 
The cruel and brutal Amiibo God did smile upon me today.

Yesterday: Amazon UK said my Lucario was reported lost. They refunded me.

Today, a battered and torn international carton arrived, with my Lucario. The box was torn up because the carton was punctured in several spots, but the Amiibo was unharmed.

I kind of want some pics of the carnage. My box that had rosalina was actually pretty fine considering the journey it must've been on in the past month.
 
A Best Buy nearby had a few Mega Man, Sonic, [1] Sheik, and Toon Link available.

After coming up short finding D3, I ended up getting Sonic.

As of checkout, only [2] Sonic, [3] Toon Link, and that one Sheik are left.

Unfortunately, it got burned a couple of hours ago when we put our built-up collect of boxes into the fire pit. It lives in Amiibo Valhalla now.

At my local GameStop that's in a pretty quiet neighborhood. They have 3 Sonic and 2 Megaman on the shelf. Picked up the 2 Megaman on the shelf and 1 Sonic.

Yeah, I was just looking at that trophy yesterday and thinking, "this amiibo is gonna be fucked." I expect the whole thing to look like its encased in ice.

As much as I love having actual little Smash Bros. trophies, one nice thing about that lineup coming to a close is the (hopeful) end to the ugly support stands.
 
Just came back from Toys R Us hoping that a hole had opened up in the universe that would let me find a Lucario, but they did have 2 Fox amiibos, are those rare? I could go back and get one if anyone has something to trade. I'm missing all rare amiibos except Shulk and Gold Mario.

Fox is definitely tradable. He's not "exclusive rare" but I'd say he's in line with Captain Falcon.
 
Question for people who take amiibos out of their boxes: Do you throw boxes away or keep them? I'm not sure what should I do with those. ._.
