Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl 1-35 (END)

A boy becomes a girl because ALIENS and then spends 33 chapters choosing whether to waifu his childhood friend or high-school crush. The opening chapters are a travesty of poor pacing and supernatural silliness, but I stuck with it since I vaguely remembered enjoying the anime. Good thing too, because the manga introduces an awesome twist halfway through when it's revealed that the (Fe)MC only has 30 days to live. Everything from then on was much more entertaining, and the endgame in particular leading up to the 'decision' was almost masterfully tense. Fortunately the superior choice won, and I say that despite her not being the kind of character I'd usually side with.

I don't care about the shipping business, but so far Tadokoro has gotten far more character development and is far more likable than Erina, and all the lashing against other girls for the sake of aggrandizing Erina is pretty laughable, though unsurprising considering that she has all the personality and development of a wet paper bag, so there's not much else one can do to to glorify her.

I believe Erina is following the EPIC arc of character development which follows the mantra of slow and steady and every now and then you see glimpses of a true Tsundere which is perfect. What has Megumi done for Souma lately? Erina is feeding the MC's development through sheer talent alone making him rise to her pantheon. This also pulls Tadokoro using Souma as a proxy. Don't get me wrong, I like Tadokoro but she is not in the MC's pay grade... she's better off competing with Souma's childhood friend for first place in the unrequited love category. Erina has classic oujo tendencies and sure she doesn't get the screen time she deserves yet because Souma is still wallowing amongst the pigs but once he takes on the Elite ten which is (clearly the end-game here) then she'll shine.

Besides, I don't really see Tadokoro's body giving Souma the "support" he "needs" to help Souma realize his dream like the Father implied... she totally has one of those "die after the first kid" kinda bodies. She's no good man!
