Man, I wish there were pics up of whatever they think they can preorder. But what would be even crazier is if it turns out to be true,
 
Meijer seems to be the Dedede hotspot. I picked up one last week at the Portage, IN store and was able to sell him for cost to one of my friends who needed him. Went to the Merrillville, IN store today and they had two Dedede's. They only let me buy one though. The one I got is going to another friend who wants him. I wanted to pick up the 2nd one to help an Amiibro here on Gaf. I'll be back over there later today. I'll stop in again to see if they still have them.

There's a direct this month?

Splatoon getting amiibo sounds weird, but makes sense. There's a huge following already of the game that's not even out. Why not capitalize on that with amiibo figures?

I hope that's true! Splatoon Amiibos would be great. Which squid would the bundle come with though? I don't want the boy one if I'm going to play as a girl. Would there be two bundles?

There's one every two months. We had one in January. Logic dictates that we'll get one this month. Probably towards the end as they can continue the two month thing somewhat and have it borderline so it leads into E3 in June with no Direct between this month's Direct and E3

I'm hoping all the amiibos do that, not just Splatoon ones. Character/franchise-themed shirts and hats would be neat and pretty easy to implement. Like the Mario Kart Mii outfits, a neat cosmetic extra for those that have the figures, but inconsequential to those who don't. That should always be the goalpost for amiibo implementation, imo.
 
Wow, exchange rates show Splatoon costing about U.S. $40 on that South Africa site. It's about $47 for the Splatoon that comes with a squid Amiibo.

If Nintendo releases Splatoon at $40 like it did with Kirby and Captain Toad, that would be fantastic.

So I've mentioned in this thread before that I've done temp work for Nintendo at conventions before, and this month is MCM Birmingham in the UK.

I just received a nice call from the temp agency saying they'll have a wider collection of merchandise at this event including... Amiibos.

At EGX we literally had two shipping containers full of merchandise. I'm SALIVATING at the thought of shipping containers full of Rosalina and MK...

I don't know if I would resist with a Jigglypuff and Greninja Amiibo :(

Anyway, I registered my two amiibos in smash, I make them eat some equipements to boost them but I thought these boost are only available with customs on, can I remove them ?

That'd be nice, exclusive costumes unlocked when you use amiibo. Outside of games, I'd like them to implement them more on the consoles and handhelds, unlocking small nice things for applications.
 
Seeing how rare D3 has become makes me feel accomplished that I ran my fat ass over to get the last of 4 on the rack at the Elyria TRU. MK was going to happen either way but TRU is usually awful with their restocks.

Well I guess that clears up wheather I should go there or not lol. I just woke up and had some running around to do, was gonna pop in there in about 30 min, good to know they won't have anything lol

Everytime I go there the employees have no idea what is what. The "rares" I have seen there was Fox and Capt. Falcon but that has been about 2-3 weeks now. The one dude that seems to work there 24 hrs a day says that chances of Lucario coming back are pretty slim.

I actually called them on Wed. on my way home from the college and asked about restocks of ANY amiibos and they didn't get anything. So I don't know about today. I worked for TRU/Babies R Us in North Olmsted so I know their shipping days but not BB.

It has been literal decades since you could get even a fair deal at a convention, let alone a good deal. You are not even going to see eBay prices anymore. At some point sellers realized that people are way swept up in the hype of events/a bunch of people that don't know the actual value of things are there and shit will sell for more at conventions. Shit sux.

You know what though? If you already had a Rosalina, like this was an extra, then it was a good trade since you needed a MM. Unless you wanted to save it because of its current market value. If so, then yeah, that's an ouch.
