The first verse alone was incredibly dark and nowhere close to being a party type song. The second verse when he starts talking to his conscience should have definitely given it away if anyone was actually paying attention to him though.

yeah, that's why I was kinda shocked by the reception it got and how popular it is while getting fucked up. it's pretty funny/interesting. mainly the chorus fucking knocks, though and i'm sure that's all they cared about.
