Hood Politics... woo

Woulda been better if he rapped without the pitched voice, but WOO
Song's fantastic. Still my favorite on the album.
I can see this album growing on me. Now that the "hurry up I want to hear the next track" feeling has faded I'm enjoying it more for what it is. Which is a groovy, thoughtful album. And I really dig its cohesiveness. I'm more of a 'listen to the whole album start to finish' person at heart, and this feels like it rewards that.

Needs to grow on me. Definitely wasn't the vibe I was looking for, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's a bit heavy. Not to say GKMC didn't have some heavier themes, but the album was still good party music. I couldn't see me listening to much of this album at a party.

Wesley's Theory thru These Walls: Alright, I'm diggin it (For Free though... lmao)
1st half of u: what?
2nd half of u: ...oh
Alright thru Blacker the Berry: Oh damn, okay!
You Aint Gotta Lie: dig it
i: I like it, but I kinda liked the single better...? Ambivalent about that outro
Mortal Man: Wow... wow...... I'm still thinkin about this one 10 minutes later.

It's a strange one, this album, but I like it on the whole. Definitely need to hear it a few more times.

Just listened to it back to back. Wow, shit's insane. It's hard to compare to his previous work, but it's amazing in every sense of the word. Mortal Man still has me like daaaaamn, i is hella improved by the context of the album and the completely different production plus the awesome outro, u is emotional as shit, For Free is a craaaazy ride (specially for an interlude, I mean goddamn) and King Kunta will bring me back to casual listens. Will definitely relisten to it tomorrow. King Kendrick, for the third time in a row.

7 songs in and nothing really jumped at me as an instant favourite, just like the previous two albums. Gonna be listening to this all week.

My disappoints on the album...parts of Institutionalized don't work to me; overall it's not a bad track I just think it would be put together better. Also I think he wasted a DOPE verse at the end of Momma. That's the verse he did on SNL...I wish that was rapped normally.

Got through about 5 rounds of listening to the whole thing. Album is incredible, it's exactly what I wanted and I didn't even know it. Like others have said, "For Free" is garbage, and I'm still not a big fan of "I", but there are so many other stand outs and the feel of the album is just amazing.

My first listen impressions are that it is absolutely excellent. I think this album in particular works much better together than as seperate tracks. I like that it is way different from S80 and GKMC.

Every track is really, really good.

Yea some of the verses he used sounded better when rapped normally.

Still.. this shit is something special.

Not done with my first listen yet, but I'm loving this. Intro wasn't bad at all, I like it. U got me like ;___;. Mortal Man better be that heat that y'all hyping up.

I think These Walls and How Much A Dollar Cost are my favorite. Only listened twice so far but I'm really digging the album overall.

This is like my 6th time listening to For Free and I still do not know how to feel about it. I really dig the music, but that girl starts talking and I'm like UHHH, and then I hear "THIS. DICK. AIN'T. FREEEeeeEEE" and start laughing and don't stop until Kendrick goes off at the end. I just... what? Thank god for King Kunta right after that.

Some of these verses definitely would have been better off played straight

Seriously.

The second half of U has to be talked about. Shit has me on some

type shit.

A song hasn't made me feel like this since the first verse in Sing About Me.

Why is it okay to speak about album leaks which very obviously have been acquired through illegal means with NeoGAF's strict stance on pirated games and movies?

It's a legitimate release. Itunes, Spotify, Google Play, the works.

To Pimp A butterfly is up on google play, itunes, spotify, etc. what are you talking about? it got released early, not leaked.

edit: gawt damn!

Because this was an official "leak" apparently? I mean you can buy it on itunes, and it's up on spotify and google play. Even listed in the new releases for Spotify.

For some reason I'm thinking Kendrick was planning to make two different "i"s the whole time, like some type of bait and switch.

Production on this too fucking good. Thundercat, Terrace Martin, FlyLo and Robert Glasper? Too much.

Hating on u and then comparing it to an obviously joke Kanye track is ridiculous. Album is sick, not what I was expecting based on the singles, but damn it's good. Wonder if it's commercial enough to actually grab people like GKMC
