Aksys is teasing something

Guess we just have to 'watch this space'. 0303 cant be a date (?), 3 March has gone so that doesnt make sense. I'd be really disappointed if it just turned out to be that Punchline thing, ironically, a Punchline that wouldnt be funny.

They will announce that Punchline actual title is "Zero Escape 3: Punchline"

lot of girls playing the nonary game, everytime they are betrayed they lose a part of their clothes.

coming out on may 2015.

I know that everyone already expect ZE3, but about those numbers couldn't the first "3" being considered as a reversed "E"?
In that case "0303" could mean Zero 3scape 03 imo.

Danganronpa is an otaku game that sold primarily to an otaku audience in Japan. The Zero Escape games don't share that aesthetic, and so were less popular in Japan. Outside of Japan, both series appeal to similar audiences, so we wouldn't see as much of a gap.

In a way, I suspect that the Zero Escape creators don't really understand otaku audiences at all and so they misinterpreted Clover's popularity in 999. I imagine that they tried to tailor her in VLR to appeal to her fans, but ended up screwing up her character instead.

Well Uchikoshi is doing Punchline, so I guess he's at least trying to capture the otaku audience.

Not at all. They offer a lot of flexibility. I can play it on my big TV or even on my Windows 8 tablet. Definitely better than any handheld could ever offered, such as Vita or 3DS.

But what about us non-tablet-owning plebs. I like VNs on handheld systems or phones so i can play them in bed :/

Personally I don't see how they couldn't release the title on both a handheld and home platform. I don't play these games for ultra-realistic graphics so there should be flexibility involved :P

Also I don't think LX_Theo knows that PCs are the original home of VNs. Recently their resurgence in popularity is because they've finally come home to a new house known as Steam!

Who cares about the "original home"?

Every VN I've played has benefited greatly when it was on portable devices.

Let them announce the game before you start port begging btw. ("So I can play it on my Windows 8 tablet" at least is original so props for trying something new)

It's difficult to port beg when we don't even know where it's coming. :P
I'm just shooting down VNs "are worse on PC" which doesn't make sense at all.

What are you arguing exactly?

A Windows 8 7inch tablet is cheaper than a Nintendo 2DS :p
But that's not the point. The point was that yes, you can enjoy PC VN in a lot of ways, included in bed.
Also, it doesn't mean it has to be exclusives :p

Port begging ? Where do you see any port begging ? I was just answering to someone saying how disappointed would be if it was a Steam announcement and answering to someone claiming VN on PC are worse.
Worse than that, nothing was announced yet. How can you "port beg" something unannounced without any platforms named ?

VNs are worse on PC. I've played on a variety of systems, PC included. It made the experience worse having to be at a computer to play it.

I haven't exactly been subtle about it.

What is "worse"?

Keep in mind that being on PC doesn't remove it from being on a handheld.

It means playing it on a PC is a less entertaining and immersive experience for a VN. Again, not subtle. Me having to spell this out for you is getting really annoying.

I have no idea why you're trying to attached some hidden message about exclusivity or what platforms its on behind this. I'm only stating my opinion on the experience itself.

PC isn't tied to one form factor.
PC today is a desktop, a laptop, a netbook, a tablet. And to be fair, a VN on a 7 inch tablet is a great experience from what I can say.

And I have no idea why you're trying to argue about how is that possible that I can enjoy VN on PC.

That's what I'm saying. Save the "I hope it's on X because it's the best platform and I can play while I skype" stuff for when it has an actual platform, it's kinda useless now.

Then again, how does it have anything to do with me replying to someone claiming that it would be a bad news ?

You're being vague on purpose just so you can put down a platform.
"Not subtle and immersive" are nothing-words that can easily be used for any platform you dislike.
Arguments like this are worse than actual platform wars, and that's saying a lot!

GhostTrick, take over for me! :P

No, that's playing VNs on a tablet. A situation you have to pay extra more for just to get that portability we apparently both agree is superior.

What are YOU trying to argue here? Because almost no one is going to go buy a PC and a tablet just to play VNs. I already have my dedicated gaming devices for portability for VNs and more.

And a worse experience is a worse experience. This is getting really stupid how much you're trying to twist my words now.

Oh my ****ing goodness, YOU ARE TRYING TO TRUN THIS INTO A PLATFORM WAR.

VNs are best when you get up and close and get comfortable with them (like a book). Portable devices are perfect for this. PCs are horrible for this.

I've said all of this. Stop making excuses because you want to make this into something its not. Are you just offended that I see this in this way? PCs are inherently obstructive to how you best enjoy a VN. Simple as that. Get over it.

this is exactly how i feel, i'd play VNs much more frequently if they were on consoles, having to be at a computer really sucks

I just took your example because it's one of the most original "I hope game is on Steam because..." I've read recently.

Oh, and it'd be bad news. Imagine Valve teasing pictures with 3s and then it turns out they were teasing a port of HL2.

Btw, if you like VNs on touch-only devices you're a bad person. :^)

If I wanted to play VLR, I should get the Vita version, right? 3DS is still glitchy?
Does it work on PSTV?
Glitches aside, it's still the better version so go with that.

I said it before and I'll say it again: too many goddamn stars lining up here. If this isn't VLR3, this is all a case of very, very bad humor by Aksys. They can't tell me that all of this isn't point towards one thing, and one thing alone, that being VLR3.

I said Steam. Steam is an ecosystem that isn't tied to form factor. I use Steam on my desktop and on my tablet. Both are defined as "Personal Computers" or PC.

But I haven't brought it myself :p
I haven't said "I hope such game lands on such platform would be great". I said that if the announcement would be Steam related, in answer to someone saying it'd be disappointed, that I would be happy. Moreover, as some people speculated with the "infinity" name, it could be Ever17, Never 7 or Remember 11, which are part of the infinity trilogy, which are PC games. Port begging of a game already available on such platform ? Port begging about something unannounced ? :p
Then again, don't take it as an offense, but port begging is against the rules, hence why I'm defending myself on this one, as I don't consider breaking the rules :p

Back on the topic (because I wouldn't want to derail the thread either !) I really hope Aksys will leave this silent stance, as I can't wait to see what is behind that teaser ;___;

Square Enix are masters of this type of humor. Maybe Aksys wants to take a shot.
