Looks like I missed a ton of NPC quests. Not sure if I should bother chasing them now that all bosses are dead except the last (I think) or just make that a NG+ thing.

So I'm fighting the second boss and I'm using the gravestones to separate us so I don't have to worry about his blunderbuss for the most part but when he changes in can't time his attacks correctly to parry and riposte him and the environment is screwing up my evasions and the camera is screwing me up. Should I lead him up the stairs to have a clear area to evade and not have to fight with the camera as well as have better light to see what attacks are coming? On attempt 15+ and can't summon help since insight is only 7

If you have the hunter's axe, abuse its double handed charged R2 attack ( a double spin attack). It has massive reach and will hurt him even through a bunch of gravestones or a tree.
Once he goes beast it's molotov throwing time..

When are we going to make a Bloodborne Story discussion thread?

Question, did you save a homeless npc? If so, you got your answer. GL

thats what I thought LOL

I still cant get the
crow lady to fight the guy
. shes not outside the church anymore, but I went to where I fought
father G
and nothing :/

Anyone know what to do to get the Ashen hunter armor without killing
Djura
? I approached him and agreed with him and got his badge, and was able to buy his weapon. On the wiki it says the unlocks if you get the messenger item from that area, which I did, but the armor isn't on either vendor in the Dream.

Anyone know why this armor isn't showing up for me on the insight vendor? All I can think is that I killed the hunter in down below the tower before talking to the guy on top, or that I'm fairly late in the game and that's causing the issue.

Personally I couldn't get molotovs to work for me due to his speed. Best strategy I found for his beast form was stun and visceral. It also makes you feel like a boss.

Because from ignorantly decided on using bells so noone actually knows there is a person looking for a coop partner. Instead of placing signs which is 100x more effective

I think it's a problem with the network implementation, not the bell system. I would give it another patch before giving up.

One time I rang the bell nobody came. So I rang it again a minute later and a coop partner arrived. Pretty sure it's a netcode issue.

Fuck that salt. I found a new place to venture into, into some woods. I played for a good while in there and covered a lot of ground to then get killed and be sent back to the fucking cathedral. Naaah need a break.

Omfg are you shitting me? I've just started. First proper go at a 'Souls' game. I died a few times to this werewolf thing, I find a pistol in the Dream place. Takes me like 10 minutes working out how to equip the damn thing, but at least it packs a punch.

I go back and wittle tbe Werewolves health down to a tiny tiny sliver, I'm talking the teo white bars either side are nearly touching, and the piece of crap manages to get a final swipe in with its claws! Gahhhhhh!! Ndhehwiwuwgnwkfiry!!!!

Is there a way to sneak up on this damn thing? A crouch/stealth button to smack its ass?

Anyone using Ludwigs holy blade? If I like using the saw is it a good upgrade and worth the 20,000.

It's really good. Just a little bit slower than the saw in both fast and heavy forms, but very powerful, with a great moveset. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's so straightforward and traditional and I feel like I should be using a weirder weapon. It's basically just like playing other Souls games (but without a shield).

For chalice dungeons... Do I have to do a bunch of lvl 1 dungeons to get enough mats for lvl 2, then do a bunch of lvl 2 to get enough mats for a bunch of lvl 3? I have a lvl 3 unlocked, but don't have the mats for it

Make sure you pick up your melee weapon in Hunter's Dream as well.

Just 4 bosses in

I was retracing some areas to see if I missed anything. When I died I was surprised that
I got taken to the unseen village, weird question; do those pigs ever break walls/doors

Ludwig is a solid as fuck weapon.

Anyone know if there is a level restriction to Chalice co-op? I kinda want to play Chalice co-op with other people but I am kinda higher level than other people (like more than 10>

My favorite weapon so far. The short sword is good for slicing and dicing normal foes and doesn't use much stamina. In great sword form hold down r2 and you can one shot alot of the bigger foes, Currently have mine +6. I also used it to take down Amelia really easily.

Just killed that damn machine gun guy, then died to a swarm of enemies in that adjacent building. Finding so many blood gems. Also lost like 10k blood. When do chalice dungeons open up?

TIPS
Where to grind for echoes: If I am having a particularly tough time, I may need to restock my bullets and vials. I recommend going to the (end game area)
Nightmare of Mensis: mid tier.
It takes 3 or 4 minutes tops to get almost 60,000 echoes. Just kill the first 3 shadow enemies, backstab the pig to death and then run past the 2 pigs and 4 shadows. The pigs and shadows will fight each other and then you can clean up the rest. Easy.
ahah, I didn't know that they fight each other. nice

Go back to the area where the wheelchair guy was. Go to the area where there are those two ogres. There should be a room with an elevator that takes you down. From that path you should be able to find your way to the second boss.
I know the place, thanks

Read the tutorials on the ground in the dream.... And it took you ten minutes to press all the buttons to bring up the menu?

So I predictably suck. I've never really played any of the Souls games (Demons' Souls a little) and I'm a naturally defensive player... not a recipe for success here!

But I'm not giving up. :)

A few questions/observations:

  • I hear there's a patch for loading times incoming? As someone who is learning the game and dying a LOT, the biggest incentive not to die is how long it takes to get back in to the action and that can't be a good thing
  • There's no map, right? Not a problem, although I might end up seeking some kind of external map purely because I'm terrible at finding my way around in games
  • Is there a best time to quit the game? If I quit right after I die, will my blood echoes still be waiting for me when I load up again? Just trying to get a feel for managing my time with the game, as I often have to fit in relatively short bursts
  • Is the timing for the stuns with the gun different from weapon to weapon? Still working on the timing (took the blunderbuss), but I seem to get hit yet still sometimes get the stagger. I guess I just need to anticipate the moves better
  • Is it possible to compare stats with your equipped attire BEFORE you buy, without switching back through the menus to check? I know once you've bought it and go to the equip menu it shows the changes, but while I'm learning and currency is hard to come by every little will count
That's it for now I think. I'm stuck at the huge guy with the cleaver (I assume beating him will allow me to open the shortcut there <<< I don't want to know, I'm happy to explore and discover for myself) but most of my current issues stem from me still getting to grips with the controls. I keep hitting L2 to block...

Well it took most of the afternoon and most of my insight, as well as the help of
Alfred
AND a random player (which is still taking forever to connect) but I finally beat the
BSB
. So freaking hard. Makes everything in DeS seem casual. To me the whole game feels DeS NG+ hard.

No, I found it after a few seconds in my inventpry but clicking Equip did shit all. I eventually worked out that I had to manually pick a slot in the arms bit which I didn't realise was a thing. The whole menu system seems really unintuitive on first time use.

He's so easily parryable though.

Except that elevator won't work until you use it from below first. So you'll need to head into the sewers to get there.

So has anyone found and fought (Chalice Dungeon spoilers) Y
harnam the
P
thumerian
Queen?
.
I cannot find her anywhere.
Yup location here
Chalice dungeon
, my vid of her here
/www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tkOYblc_GE
. More detailed idea of how to get to her,
Keep progresing through the Pthumeru chalice, you also need the loran chalice at one point, so you can craft chalice on the pthmeru path
