Damn Netflix is killing it. So that's Kimmy Schmidt, Bloodline, and Daredevil to make three very recent and very good original shows on that service.

Grats Calgary, Winnipeg.

I reallllly hope either Tampa moves ahead of Montreal or that either Boston or Pittsburgh moves ahead of Ottawa into the 7th seed. I want NO part of the Sens.

Who was the guy here that kept saying the Flames wouldn't make it and kept moving the goalposts month after month? Or was that part of some running joke I missed?

I'm going to be supporting the Sens if they make it. Really exciting team to watch. Flames is a close second (bitter that Burke couldn't get it right for Toronto).

The Sens right now remind me of the Royals during the last MLB post season. Scary stuff.

Are these the guaranteed match-ups so far?

Calgary versus Vancouver

Nashville versus Chicago

Everything else is still to be determined right? Crazy! The last two days of the regular season will be quite nice.

I'm pretty sure Chicago can still fall into the first wild card spot if they lose and Minnesota wins. They'd be tied in points, but it looks like Minnesota would have the tie break. Correct me if I'm wrong, of course.

You're right. Chicago has 102 points and Minnesota has 100 points. Both have played 81 games. If Chicago loses their last game in regulation and Minnesota wins in any fashion (regulation, OT, shootout), then Minnesota gets the tiebreak and displaces Chicago, as they are already way ahead in ROWs (currently Chicago has 39, and Minnesota has 42).

Predictions for the WCF and ECF guys?

For East I think it's going to be

Montreal/Tampa vs Rangers( I want a Rematch Rangers! Last year wasn't fair!)

West I'm predicting

Wild/Preds vs Ducks/Canucks

Hoping for:

Washington versus Ottawa (I don't think Ottawa versus Montreal is possible)
Calgary versus Winnipeg

I'm just happy four Canadian Teams(Not Sens yet!) are in the Playoffs

I just want Habs to face Detroit or Pittsburgh.

The West could be anyone and with the Kings out it makes the west much more appealing

We can MAYBE beat the Flames but that'll be as far as we'll go lol.

Why must you be so negative, Smiley? Your posts on this forum are directly responsible for the moderately underwhelming performance of the team over the past four years. If you personally, and you alone, would just pump sunshine up everybody's ass no matter what is happening on the ice, we would have won six Stanley Cups since the 2011-2012 season.

More Gauthiers and Biggs for us? Eh...

I'm much happier with the management and their direction now.

For sure... Hanifin/Strome/Marner will be franchise players to build around, but I have so much faith in Hunter that if they decide not to select one of those three with their pick I'd still be OK.

Not scared of Ottawa, Hammond will run out of road soon, and like I said if we did lose to them in the first round it would be a catalyst for major change. I'm okay with either situation.

I want to make one thing perfectly clear:

I hate the Habs and I hate the Sens.

But I love the people who cheer for them and want to see them be happy about their teams. That is how I feel about playoff hockey every year when the Leafs don't make it.

It's not as much fun as it should be though. Because it's been a full year since anybody has so much as mentioned the Kings, I forgot who the lifelongs are and thus can't really rub it in.

I cleaned up your post to save some word count.

Lightning vs. Rangers seems like it needs to happen. The Rangers who were cast off last season aiming to beat the team that's trying to go one step further without them this season. Storyline pretty much writes itself.

Not to mention that the results of the season series (which Tampa utterly dominated) can be thrown out entirely, so it's something of a mystery how such a series would play out now. The last time the Rangers and Lightning met, the Toronto Maple Leafs were in a playoff spot....and were still there for more than a month after that.

I foresee chaos in the Western conference. It wouldn't shock me if the lower seed won every single first round series.

EDIT: Wow, Toronto held onto that wild card longer than I thought. Real impressive tank work considering. :D

I honestly have no idea how my bracket picks are going to go. Maybe I'll just pick the Caps all the way in the East, and blindly pick the west.

If Hammond is going to keep following the Leighton template he will handle Montreal easily, then fall apart completely in the next round before going back to being an AHL goalie.
