Yes, the boss before her was one of the toughest yet. I'd take all of the bosses in the defiled dungeons - health decrease included - over him.

BLB v2 literally made me almost wanna cry. such a relief to beat him. more so than Watchdog in Defiled.

One doubt about the "easy mode" bug.
happens everytime i play for more than 10 hours?

i lost Eileen the Crow quest, so i decided killing her for the set, i was excited for a tough fight... turns out she was just throwing rocks at me or something like that????????? not even using her gun.
lame as f*ck.

if you want to avoid that, just close and restart the app every time you play after a break.

Man I read all these damn beginners tips and I guess I'm just dense but it took me hours to even attempt to use my gun. For anyone else starting out and thinking wtf this gun sucks I think I'll only use my other weapons...this is how to use your gun:

Get close to a guy and just before his attack is about to hit you, shoot him. You have to get the timing right but it's not usually too hard once you figure it out. So once you shoot the bad guy and have the timing right, they'll stagger back and what you want to do now is attack with R1. This will trigger a visceral attack and do a lot of damage.

TL;DR wait for enemy to attack and right before they strike, shoot them. Then attack them with R1. Guns are fun.

Didn't you love when you try to run away and that fuck casually just walks behind you . If he's on your tail it's impossible to escape him without triggering some kind of talk to make him stop walking.

That said, people were fortunate he wasn't in the main game hahah.

I got BLB as a boss twice in the same dungeon, with half health. The random dungeons can be pretty crazy.

I STEAMrolled BLB once i learned him

Its crazy how each boss has its quirks that allow for the fight to be made easier.

He is so intimidating at first but I kept fighting him and observing (without using vials) to figure him out then I went in for the Kill >:)

After many rage inducing moments trying to master parrying in Dark Souls 2, Parrying actually making sense once again (via the gun staggering) is a sheer joy.

Ok guys I beat the main game with just the trophy left for one of the endings and the weapon trophy (for which I just need a weapon from a chalice dungeon) as well as the chalice dungeon trophy left to kill the boss there.

I can finish the game to get the third ending anytime as I met all the requirements and get the weapon the boss drops after. However I'm holding off on that and doing the chalice dungeon stuff for the trophy before I finish and get the platinum.

I have some questions regarding the dungeons.

1) I know they dont scale with NG+ but if I did go to NG+ will my created dungeons still remain created at the hub? I haven't done this simply because it will lock all the areas of the main game out again and I may want to revisit them.

2) Am I in it for the long haul with these dungeons if I'm only going for the trophy to kill the boss at the end? I'm currently at Lower Phentmaru Layer 4 but I know I need to create other dungeons to get materials after this one.

Basically what I want to know is which bosses should I face if I am to do it the easiest way through? I don't want to come to a boss here and be stuck considering they're so hard compared to the main game. Which is the best least stress free path to the boss trophy?

currently I'm level 91 using mostly Ludwigs blade and sometimes the Tontirus Lightning mace. My build is VIT 37 Str 30 End 40 Skill 17. I know I need to put more in Skill for Ludwigs and I'm working on that as I level up.

2. There is an insanely detailed guide here that can help you. Starting in post 10, you will find the dungeon trophy guide. Personally I was able to skip one step in that long list of requirements, the Isz chalice. You can get enough red jelly if you ng+.

I'm now at the end of the game. I want to platinum the game so I'm going to do some Chalice dungeons to get the Beast Claw and high level bloodgem drop, then it's just a matter of unlocking the three different endings.

I already have a save stored on USB drive ready to act as backup but I'm still nervous I'm going to mess up the process somehow and be forced to play through the game again in order to get the rest of the endings.

The game is great, but my backlog is too large to play through multiple times.

I will say I'm disappointed the performance patch didn't come out prior to me finishing the game.

I thought the 60FPS updated version on PS4 would make parrying easier but I still need way more practice it seems

Parrying in Bloodborne is such a dream and lots of fun

I feel you, but I'm doing NG+ since I'm loving it so much. I went back to NG with a new character and absolutely steam rolled the 1st two bosses.
Knowing where to go/how to kill enemies is like 80% of the time consuming part. If you want the endings rapidly, avoid NG+ as the difficulty really spikes compared to NG. Just reroll a new character.

Yep. I remember the first time he did his rocket punck which OHKO me since I dodged terribly. After I got the timing he became one of my favorite bosses. His headless version isn't that bad either.

This is my first "Souls" game and I've loved it but man invasions might as well not be a feature. I remember people talking about how tense being invaded could be in the previous games and the way it's set up here just isn't frightening at all.

I never got invaded while summoning co-opers. I never got invaded before killing the Maiden in Nightmare Frontier, I only got invaded once in Nightmare Menses before killing the bell maiden, and that guy didn't even touch me before I killed him in one combo with my blade of mercy.

It really seems like 95% of any PVP you're going to do is going to come from actively seeking it out with your own sinister bell.

You guys got me terrified to do these chalice dungeons. Just sounds like a lot of pain. Atm I'm playing MK X a bit to take a break from Bloodbrne's crazy bosses. I had enough trouble with the bosses in NG.

I went Bloodtinge build but I dont think it's really for me. In dark souls and demons' I was always a Strength build. Should've stuck with what I know I think. Going to level up my STR, VIT, and END a bit more in ng+ and then eventually do the harder chalice dungeons. So far I've only done that piss easy dungeon (depth 1)

That side room with 2 big werewolves. 2 bell ringers and about 10 dozen red spiders was insane. I know where im gonna be farming.
I believe it is about 200,000 to do that area, plus the wraiths by the lamp, and the various imps a floor down. If you have a weapon that cuts down the spiders quick though, probably less. Still a crazy farming area.

Chalice dungeons are a lot of fun. Early on they are easy as shit, though.

One last trophy to get, the 3rd ending!

I did the first two endings with Saw-Cleaver and then another new character with the Threaded Cane (This second character I also finished the chalice dungeon for the Trophy too).

Now, for shits and giggles, just started and brand new run, did the jumping glitch to get to the Forgotten Woods right off the bat and got the Cannon. Got to level 30 STR and just at the BSB. Going to just have fun with this next run. Have to do Djura before thought to get the Powder Key Hunter Badge. Falcon Punch my way to Pirate Cannon Duel Combo Attack!

Gotta keep playing this game and burn myself out before The Witcher 3.

Quick question. Does leveling the pistol or blunderbuss effect its ability to stun or is it just the damage it does? THinking about switching to the pistol in NG+.

You guys are saying the Defiled Hotdog was nothing compared to what I'm about to face? Really?

Oh god.

IMO that is the hardest boss of that chalice.
Amygdala
is way easier to deal with since she has long cooldown after certain attacks and you can deal bunch of damage to the head. The problem is the last part where she goes berserk and her cooldown is much shorter. I cheesed that last part of the fight by triggering her only using one or two attacks that I could easily deal with.

if the devs didn't want summoning, they wouldn't include it, imo. since it's part of the game, I don't find it lacking the "true" experience at all. Sunbros exist to help others so if someone needed help, Praise the Sun. I loved being summoned. wish it worked better in BB so I could help Gaffers here as well.

Yeah it isn't lacking the "true" experience or is cheating to use summoning in order to beat the game. You are even encouraged to help other players in need by giving insight and bunch of souls without any risk.

I think I'm done with the game for myself. I don't see me wasting time with Defiled Chalice 3rd Boss. I just wailed 20 minutes on him dodging everything perfectly only to drain him what, 30% hp? He easily one shots me or staggers me to death. Nope thank you. I also can't stand chalices anymore. It's the same few rooms over and over and over and over again with no differences. Utterly boring.

You sound like you're trying to justify yourself. Yes it's lacking the "true" experience. That's a fact. Period. You're free to make the game easier for yourself, but beating it this way isn't an accomplishment. At all. It's piss easy to co-op any of the souls bosses.

BLB V2 was easy...queen was harder

I found that to be the easiest boss in there, especially after it tears its arms off. Once it does, stay close and it cant do anything, I use L2 on the scythe to swing high at its remaining arms

EDIT: Close and at its side

He just has too much health. I'm hitting the tail for 70-130. It's the only safe place and there is no dodging when he flails around.
Also how can he be the easiest? I first tried the first boss. lol

Didn't tried 3rd one too much. I'm sick of chalices so this is just the final nail in the coffin. Tried only 3 times or so so far.

opposite for me. BLB v2 took me a bunch of retries. Queen took me first try lol.

To be honest, I was stuck on the first BLB v1 for quite a while in the non root chalice. Up to that point, he was the hardest boss I had faced. Beating him eventually, after being stuck on him for quite a while, caused me to really learn his tells. Git Gud so to speak, I just had to go through a soul destroying phase of learning him.

So when I got to BLB v2 in the last chalice for the achievement, I actually found him really really easy. I knew how to bait out his attacks, knew his tells, knew how to attack him without danger. I just had to adjust some things for his new abilities (the homing blood shots, and when the worm comes out of his head), but once I got the tells down for his new abilities, and knew how to avoid him, it went back to being a cakewalk.

I think I spent maybe 30 minutes on BLB v2 and definately wiped until i figured out his new stuff, but once I got his new abilities, its almost a fight you can do without even using a blood vial on.

I will say, defiled Amygdala, was a royal pain till I figured her out, I had no where near that much trouble with story Amygdala.

Well I did beat every boss solo on my first playthrough so I don't think I need justifying myself for doing coop on new playthroughs. Summoning is a tool given for player to overcome the challenges the game throws you. Same with upgrading and leveling up. Those things make everything more manageable and easier to progress through the game. And I don't really think beating the game solo is more of an accomplishment than beating it with summoning.

edit. Also only true BB experience is beating the game with waste of skin and without weapons.

What badge do I have to find to make the cannon available in the shops? I'm about to start the Nightmare Menesis and I haven't seen it yet.

whoa! its in the
forbidden woods
in the tower thingy between areas. where all of the elevators are. its up in the top area where you have to do the balance beam walking.

It's all about the first playthrough. On NG+ or a 2nd NG you're free to do whatever your feel like.^^

I can't follow the sentiment that it's "equal" if you play the game solo or co-op the entire game cheesing through it, often not even realizing what challenges particular boss fights present, since you wail them down within seconds. One is sometimes a challenge, the other makes almost all bosses a 100% trivial.

I felt like a scrub because it took me 5 tries for the Queen. Everyone was saying how easy she was and how difficult BLB v2 was which I took down in my second attempt.

I think our differing boss experiences depends on our playstyle. it's funny whenever I read how easy one boss was for someone but it was much harder for me and vice-versa. for example, I thought Rom was challenging but kinda easy. other people had huge issues with her. pretty diverse opinions on boss difficulties which is great.

I did a run yesterday just to get it. Found it. Guess I will save it for some PVP fun. Does it work well against later bosses? Thanks!

Don't listen to these scrubs. Defiled Hotdog is the true boss of Bloodborne, everything after is like picking daisies in a field while your lover gently caresses your cheek.

Yeah it's funny. Pthumerian Descendant was probably the toughest in the chalices for me. But others thought he was easy.

Not even that hard. It's more about patience and endurance.

yea the tail is pretty sturdy, the arms take the most damage and are safe as long as you are close

Bosses don't go down in seconds with coop though and isn't cheesing unless there is some coop specific tactic that breaks the fight. As long as you don't break the game and use only tools the game gives it is the true way of playing it. Opting out of using the tools the game gives you isn't the true way of playing the game. It is more of an challenge mode such as SL1 run that the players have imposed onto themselves.

Which bosses are difficult and which are not ultimately do come down to play style. I beat Eb on third try, but later found out many found her hard. Father G took me a half hour and some beat him on first try. It all depends on personal preferences.

Didn't realise you could Summon Alfred for C
leric Beast
. Makes me wonder if you can summon him for F
ather G
aswell if you fence hop.

I met him after VA so you're good.

Not sure what the trigger is, but I did not have Alfred summons available for BSB on either NG or NG+. I did VA before BSB each time. I know I talked to Alfred and told him I would cooperate with him each time prior to getting to where his summon sign is for BSB. But I also opened password door (but didn't go through) before going to BSB, so may that is the trigger why I could not summon him.

I am not sure what the trigger is whether he is summonable or not, but it must be something I missed on ng or ng+
