I can't believe how well the Tories have sold the 'government-household finance' analogy to the public. I'm cringing at the comparisons to spending money on beer at the end of the week, from someone working in finance no less.
Yes but the questions are based on lies and bullshit, how was a global crisis caused by labour spending money on schools. It hurts just listening to itEd is getting it tight from the audience.

... besides avaya's longer post explaining why the tories haven't actually presided over economic success, but nevermind that eh.Lol, you guys are so stupidly hostile to anyone supporting the Tories. The guy thinks they've done well and half of you call him irrational and dumb.
Miliband calling the SNP's bluff, I like it.
Half of you, half of you, half of you. Surely you all realise that both sides can and do make the arguments. Reducing your opponent to a slathering moron is just so nakedly partisan and makes everyone look like a goon.... besides avaya's longer post explaining why the tories haven't actually presided over economic success, but nevermind that eh.

Why are some people incapable of constructive political conversation without petty sniping? What you've pretty much just done is said "I don't agree with you so you're wrong" and blown a raspberry in my face.
I don't vote Green or LD or SNP but I don't dismiss those who do.
Well... You can't claim he's not being bold tonight.
A man lacking in confidence would not have said that re: SNP
Throwing Jim Murphy under a bus to shore up the English marginal vote. Might be a good strategic decision. For him at least.
He's essentially saying he'd rather the tories in than work with democratically elected scottish MP's will go down like a bag of cold sick on the doorstep in Scotland.

If he allows the tory's in by not going with the snp he should be taken outside and shot
They are presiding over the fastest growing western economy though. From what I can gather from this thread, the tanking of the economy wasn't the previous labour governments fault and the reasonably well performing economy at the moment isn't at all down to the current government. Hmm.
If the SNP MPs don't want to vote for a Labour Queen's Speech, then they'll be the ones bringing down a Labour minority government.
There is still that perception about Labour "banning zero hours contracts" isnt there?
to be fair labour's website is very clear on this
http://www.labour.org.uk/issues/detail/zero-hours-contracts
It is about ending exploitative zero hours contracts. Which is a good thing! Best of both worlds. Says person on zero hours contracts.
It is objectively false that this government has been good on the economy. If we believed in facts it would be their weakest card.
But it doesn't matter, we are in lowest common denominator mode.

IEd almost stacked it coming off the stage there...
This isn't throwing him under a bus. At all. I don't think people are understanding what's currently going on?
Labour have held scottish seats for *years* on the basis of being the anti-tory party. If Ed comes out now and says he'll work with the SNP to keep the Tories out of government, he can write off every single scottish seat, today. It would instantly legitimise everything the SNP have said, and makes it completely safe for every Scottish labour voter to vote SNP I stead of labour.
Of course post election he will change his tune. But right now the only hope labour have of keeping any seats in Scotland is by focussing on labour being the only major party that can form a government, and that voting SNP gives the Tories a change at power.
He literally has no other option currently if labour want to hold Scottish seats.

Funny how the picture dies as soon as Clegg speaks...
