Bladestorm Nightmare to be the first PC Koei Tecmo game based on PS4 version ?

Hi Everyone,

Bladestorm Nightmare will be releasing 5/29 on Steam.

Details regarding quality&content :

  • Depending on Hardware graphics could be comparable or above PS4.
  • Online Features are the same as console versions so it will include co-op, match play, as well as dispatching customized characters.
  • Players can customize resolution under graphic settings. Highest resolution is 4K.
  • Players can also can switch between Japanese version or English version of the game if they wanted to.

I'm not sure if it's the entire game but Samurai Warriors 4-II character models are based off of the PS4 version for the steam version.

Thank you. Hopefully it'll also feature full controller support with proper Xbox button icons/prompts. If that turns out to be the case, I'll definitely pick it up on release day.
 
It's a start. I'd buy some Koei games on Steam if it looks like they are starting to put effort into them.

Honestly, it would be cool if they let you pick DualShock buttons, since a lot of PC players use DS4s nowadays.
 
Good to hear about Bladestorm, even though I was so bad at the original. I'll put it on my wishlist & wait for some impressions.
 
Sounds good.

You know I owned this on 360 when it first came out 200 years ago and for the life of me I can't remember a singular thing about it despite putting a reasonable amount of time into it. Probably a good reason to double dip.

Yes, absolutely. As far as I'm concerned, every game should allow the user to choose between keyboard + mouse, Xbox, PlayStation, or "generic" numbered controller buttons.

I do know there are programs like DS4 Windows that allows users to use Dualshocks in games.

Speaking of which... it seems that Koei Tecmo also has Tecmo's name and games... if you know what I mean :p
 
Is there a benchmark I can run right now?

My god this game performed horribly on the PS4. It ran at about 10fps, and I don't think it ever once went above 20fps.

I love to play japanese games on my PC *wink* wink* I love to give my money to the japanese companies that put their games on PC *wink* *wink* specially if they are good ports *wink *wink* and I really like Ninjas *wink*

As an aside (or one could say... Gaiden) I too love Ninjas. Especially ones dressed in black.

Just ran the benchmark tool. The highest preset seems pretty demanding, with GPU loads between 70-99% at 1080p/60Hz vsync on a Titan X @1339Mhz. Don't quote me on this, but it looks like it might be using SSAA x2 so there's that. CPU usage is heavily dependent on a single thread, maxing out at around 80% on my 5820K @4.5Ghz. The other 11 threads remained somewhere in the teens throughout the benchmark.
 
I can't hold all these Koei Tecmo games GAF.
They'll bankrupt me yet.
I cannot resist the sexy 'stache on dat Nobunaga either.

Awesome. I was really interested in the game, but the PS4 demo's performance was abyssmal.

Hopefully the port is decent.
 
Steam has temporarily pulled down Bladestorm from Steam store to match our official announcement date. Please be patient and sorry for the inconvenience.
 
Eh, £49.99? That's not a reasonable price for any game. Would love to support KT releases on PC but they just can't seem to not fuck them up somehow.

Gross, I wonder if it's due to the action being connected to the frames like in Naruto.

I doubt it's due to them just not caring considering how many different graphic options they put on the PC version.
 
according to the reviews: 60 dollars, 30fps, unskippable intros, very little PC config options... sigh.

From my personal experience with the steam release.

60 fps is max.
I believe the intro movies can be skipped.
PC Config options are available during launch. It however was set in default Japanese for launch. Users can easily fix this issue by starting up configuration
Click the 2nd tab
Select the last item listed and switch it to English.
Click confirm (which is listed in the middle bottom) and restart the game.

We do apologize for this inconvenience.

Sorry about the current issue. Steam relisted the game earlier this morning however no one is able to actually access the store page for the game. We are looking into this issue right now.

I hope it is resolved very soon.
 
I've had pretty rock-solid performance with no glitches or crashes or any of the other issues a lot of people have been having on the Steam forums. The reviews paint a very bleak picture, and while this could have received a few more optimisation passes prior to release, I'm confident Koei will give it a few patches and iron out the stability wonkiness.

Snagged primarily to support Koei's further interest in releasing games on PC. Can't wait for Nobunaga's Ambition, and ultimately, if things go well, getting that Vita version localised.
