E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

I think Agent will be multiplat. Sony probably traded exclusivity away for GTAV marketing rights last year.

Unless they got marketing rights for next 50 Rockstar published games, that's a bad deal. It's either gone, or Sony moved on because Rockstar was taking too long, or that deal is still in place and game is full exclusive.

The thing is, Agent was in development by Rockstar North. But Rockstar North was busy the past years with GTA 5, the Next Gen Versions and DLC.
So either another studio took over Agent, Rockstar North will start the Full Production in 2015 or its dead.

If it's exclusive, i think it would be a time exclusive

I highly doubt marketing rights are in the same ballpark as AAA development costs.

The deal definitely changed, as in the price probably went up 10 fold. Sony knew it wasn't feasible after this long and RS offered a one time exclusive marketing parting gift.

Marketing is more expensive.

I think marketing rights have been pegged around $10-20M? And a timed exclusive like TR would be like $40M.

The reality is, a full exclusive next gen RS game is completely out of the question.

For what it's worth, I had a private conversation 2 years ago here on GAF with someone who's assertions about different things more or less panned out in retrospective and I was told that Agent WILL be released whenever they are able to make it without compromises and that it's a very important game for the higher ups at Rockstar. Don't know if true or not.

Sounds good and i hope its true. Maybe, now that GTA 5 is out, Rockstar North can finally speak about Agent in the next months/years

IIRC the Trademark for Agent was also renewed in 2013

I'll divide this post into two parts. The first one will be somewhat of a wishlist, the second one an educated guess, trying to be as accurate as possible.

It can't be dead completely. If it was completely dead, Rockstar would not have Agent listed as one of their games on their site. Also, the Trademark is still current and was renewed in 2013.

If Sony and Rockstar have made some agreement not to pursue Agent or have it on indefinite hold for now, they would have said something. Either it is currently in development or will be soon (especially since Rockstar has huge interest in this property as they've stated).

If it's being developed, it's multiplatform. After GTA V being so successful on every platform, Rockstar would do everything in their power to make sure Agent and all of their other games release on all platforms. Sony would have to sweeten the deal miraculously to have it exclusive to PS4. Hell - Andrew House stated yesterday how difficult it was to secure third party games as exclusives. And since this is Rockstar, it would be even harder. Though I feel Rockstar would make it up to Sony somehow if they made the game multiplatform.

Add to that, that since I can remember (at least since GTAIV) Rockstar had multiple games at least announced in parallel. (MP3, LA Noire, GTAV) Now we have nothing after GTAV got released. I wouldn't be too surprised if we see something at E3, be it RDR, LA Noire, Mafia or Agent.

Yea for sure. The only thing I'm worried about is RDR was a huge hit and L.A Noire was as well (three most financially and critically successful properties). If they're going to cycle through these 3 properties - it takes huge resources especially for the new consoles. Over a 1,000 people worked on GTA V. Do they have the necessary resources to put into other games such as Bully, Midnight Club, Agent, Max Payne (initially typed this out as Mad Max haha)? The answer is yes - they have a mountain of money. But is it worth it when they can cycle through those huge properties, and in the end make more money?

Does anyone else find it strange that we literally can't predict which game is next for Rockstar (excluding GTA and RDR)? I don't know if it's going to be Max Payne, Midnight Club, Bully, or something completely new. There's actually more evidence Agent is next then for any of these other properties.

They still have it on their homepage and never officially cancelled it. I wouldn't write it off just yet.
Isn't it weird that Agent and TLG were revealed at the same press conference, both in development hell, and 6 years later, both still not officially canceled?!

What if, just what if..

Do we even talk about Half-Life 3 anymore?

It seems very unlikely Half Life 3 will ever come to fruition. The nature of Valve's business is a platform hosting/multiplayer-centric business model. They don't focus on single player narratives anymore. I think the best we can hope for is they make Half Life 3 for the fans, but have a huge multiplayer component to it.

Though Portal 2 wasn't released that long ago..... so there is still hope

For us, sure.

But for the vast majority of gamers who have no idea what this game is since literally nothing has been seen since the initial trailer? Probably not.

TLG is gigantic...it was top trending worldwide on twitter and forums when that cancellation rumor from IGN went live last year.

I don't think I could handle Agent, TLG, and FF7; on top of Fallout 4, Mass Effect 4, FF15, KH3, Deus Ex, and Hitman all in the same show.

No amount of scheduled maintenance can prepare gaf. This will be one the best E3s in years.

Are we just hoping these games will show or has there been reason to believe they will show up based on this thread?

If that happens, the internet will explode, implode, and then create a Blackhole which will swallow the planet and our entire solar system and beyond

Sony probably got Other Ocean to finish Agent for Rockstar North.

All I want this year is a Fallout 4 reveal. It's been my most anticipated game for years, and I'm going to lose my mind when we finally see it.

But if we got TLG and Agent re-reveals too?
