E3 2015 Predictions & Discussion thread

Are we just hoping these games will show or has there been reason to believe they will show up based on this thread?

From what I've gathered; TLG seems locked in, a Rockstar Ps4 exclusive is coming sometime might be Agent might not, and FF7 is wishful hoping with a dash of insider and Knack on top.

I think Hitman could steal the show. Really hopeful about it since the levels will be back to being more open.

That's assuming we get an actual demo. I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm expecting Hitman to be the Dishonored 2 to Deus Exs Fallout 4. Deus Ex will get the lengthy demo while Hitman gets the CG trailer.

Over 4 years ago and they haven't released anything single-player-oriented since.

If Half-Life 3 does ever come out, I figure it'll be exclusive to Valve's VR technology as an attempt to try to gain supremacy in that field. :(

Well if that happens I would buy the necessary hardware to play the game, and then never use it again unless I replay. Doesn't mean the casual crowd will. I think most games at first will be VR-compatible, but not mandatory. You can still have a crazy good VR component and not have it mandatory. Exactly like 3D movies at the moment. Some movies are amazing and then even better in 3D (or not depending on your tastes and how the amount of work incorporated)

Remembered that Persona 4: Dancing all night is coming with Persona 5 footage in its first print in japan... Which is the week after E3

believe.

Been trying to keep track of the thread but as far as I can tell there have been no leaks or major insider comments for a couple pages and the talk of FF7/Agent etc. are 100% pure hype train based on nothing.

TLG had a vague mention a few days ago by an insider now banned but nothing else, but the thread has convinced itself that it is now "locked in" lol.

There has never ever been a Sony conference that has delivered that many megatons, ever.

Do we even talk about Half-Life 3 anymore?

No, because Valve has shown to not give any shit. I still dream about it at night though...

IO said they would only show the game when they have sonething substantial to show though.

I don't know, Magic, if Square is doing a conference, it's probably because they're going all out with their games, and Hitman's a pretty important IP for them. And IO did say they'd have something to show this year. It's time, I think.

Nice. Probably putting together a teaser.

Who is this and what does this mean?

How do you not know who Scott Rohde is? He's been at several Sony conferences already.

Because I work. I have never actually been able to watch a Sony conference live. I only in the last year have started to learn important names. Since he is not the brunt of a meme or been fired, he has been out of my regular scope of viewership.

I'm sorry for upsetting you so much. :(

HYPE indeed!

Bend is probably Sony's best kept secret. They've never made a bad game and were their premier handheld developer for almost a decade. I can't wait to see their new PS4 IP :)

I feel like we said the same thing about Ready at Dawn before The Order. Not that I thought it was a bad game but you know...

All that matter is that we are probably getting a sweet Sony Bend game reveal and that

Haha touche'. I was guilty of saying that myself so perhaps I should keep my hype a tad more in check.

I'm a tad more optimistic regarding Bend though. They've at least developed their own games (Syphon Filter, Resistance: Retribution which was a TPS instead of an FPS) in the past rather than iterating on an existing formula.

Rumors are also suggesting they're developing an open-world horror/survival game with at least some similarities to The Last of Us. That alone is enough to intrigue me regardless of the developer.

I wouldn't necessarily take that as confirmation that Bend's game will be there. It seems like Sony is meeting with SCE teams in general at the moment. Yesterday Yoshida tweeted that he had meeting with Brian Fleming (Sucker Punch co-founder), Rohde and some other SCE people.

Head of software development of America - What does this mean? Probably that Sony Bend will announce their game at E3

I'm sure he visits studios routinely, but the timing of the tweet may not be an accident :)

Bend's game along with Horizon and TLG would make for a solid show. In my opinion of course.

"Solid"? Get your expectations in check. That would be earth-shattering compared to an average E3.

The deal definitely changed, as in the price probably went up 10 fold. Sony knew it wasn't feasible after this long and RS offered a one time exclusive marketing parting gift.

I think marketing rights have been pegged around $10-20M? And a timed exclusive like TR would be like $40M.

The reality is, a full exclusive next gen RS game is completely out of the question.
Sorry I thought you meant general marketing as if the whole thing. That's what I get reading while I am at work...

I wonder what games Sony and Microsoft will show for their indie showcases. In recent weeks, I've seen quite a few devs go quiet or mention talks with publishers

Mainly:

The Last Night (already confirmed for PS4)

Eitr (dev mentioned E3 and that a publisher picked up the game)

I predict that as part of Konami's new mobile gaming focus, they will announce full support of Snail Game's upcoming W3D gaming smartphone.

You do realize that's asking for a lot right? That would be amazing, but we all know we hype these events to a ridiculous degree so that there's no way we can be satisfied
Not really. I totally expect Sony Bend's new game, Guerrilla Games RPG, Media Molecule's new IP and TLG at the conference.
It's time for all of them.

I am as excited to see which indie games might come to PS4/Vita as I am to see what Sony's first parties are making.

The indie showcase should be awesome this year, I think both companies more and more are seeing the value of giving them more of a spotlight and podium.

Tbh I think given the first party situation, people aren't going to respond very well to much emphasis on yet more pixel art indies etc. I don't think Sony should try to use these to compensate for any lack of AA or AAAs, even CG trailers would be better than that.

the indiesections don't really take much time from the conference and bring a certain diversity into the show
i dont see a problem if there is a 10 Minute indie demonstration on a show thats over 100 minutes
The No Man Sky Gameplay (7 Minutes long) was actually one of the highlights of last years E3

im looking forward to those high quality indiegames like rime, Everybodys gone to the Rapture or Shadow of the Beast

This place is like the 2.0 version of the Sony hype thread lol

Aaaanyway, are we sure Zelda will be a no show?, I mean maybe by not being there they meant as in playable on the show floor, right guys?, right?

D:

So is it safe to say that one of the behind closed door demo was Bend's game then? I guess the other game is Horizon. Wow throw in GOW4 teaser and TLG then Sony will have the best E3 :p

I am thinking the same thing. When they said it I thought they mean show floor but I do hope for a trailer.

The indie section should be good.

I wonder if Sony or Microsoft got Five Nights at Freddys? If either one got it at all.
Sony always surprises on the indie front.

Getting DayZ, Killing Floor 2, Grim Fandango, and WiLD were announcements no one saw coming .

I wouldn't be surprised if one of them got in contact with the creator to put all 4 games on one of their platforms.

The devs of Rain World mentioned getting a build ready for E3 so I wouldn't be surprised if Adult Swim's line-up gets some exposure

And Adult Swim has an amazing indie library. Rivals Devolver IMO

Hell yeah they do! I've loved every release I've bought from them so far.

Jazzpunk and Westerado are my favorites.
