Do you know if the gwent cards are missable? thats my last trophy i need

There are, you can miss ones sold by the innkeeper in White Orchard, and you can miss one given out by the Baron. Those are just the ones I know.

The cards the innkeeper sells are apparently going to be patched back in though, which is good.

Level 19, just got to Skellige.

Wow.

This game feels like CDPR had a meeting one day and basically decided to just try and make the best RPG ever. I'm not saying they succeeded but the passion and ambition that ooze from every corner of this game is almost overwhelming. It's impossible to not be impressed by the effort they put into this game.

skellige was kind of my big realization of this too. beautiful music and setting.

this game is so massive and i love how the sidequests weren't sacrificed in order to make this so big (i'd even argue it's better than the prior two games' sidequests) god damn.

I think it's bloody ridiculous they ask us to (romance)
choose an ultimatum with Triss when we've seen Yennifer for all of 5 minutes in a 70 hour game so far.
dont think I'm happy with what I've done but the last save I have is 5 hours back. Oh well.

Light romance spoilers

Totally. As someone who has played the previous games multiple times I have all this time spent with Triss and next to none spent with Yen when the Novigrad scenario plays out with Triss. However because I am a fan of the series I have read up on backstory stuff about the Geralt/Yen relationship and how it is portrayed in the books and it puts me in a weird situation where all my experience in the games leads me to an easy decision of choosing Triss, but everything I have read in wiki's and whatnot about Geralt's life pre-Witcher 1 would lead me to want to choose Yen. The choice between Yen and Triss should be a really hard one because you have had meaningful experiences with both IN GAME by the time you are faced to make the decision, but in reality if you are A.) someone who has played the games and not read the books or B.) someone who is playing W3 as their first experience with the Witcher series whatsoever, then you have nothing to feel connected to Yen about. The B.) scenario is not actually that bad in my eyes because the games are a trilogy and you shouldn't expect to be able to enjoy all the bits in the last part of a trilogy if you have not invested in the trilogy. However the A.) scenario is damning. Either the previous games should of done more to make the player attached to Yen the way the character is in the books, or they should of structured the third game in such a way where you have spent time with Yen and potentially developed a fondness for her by the time the decision is forced upon you.

Finished the main campaign last night. Really nice ending apart from a glitch ruining the emotional punch of a scene. Any assassins creed game would get slaughtered by the press if it was to happen in their game. Apart from all the bugs though it was a really great experience.

Going to start a new run on a harder difficulty and it'll be my completionist run and where I try give Gwent a proper go.

I tried turning in a side quest last night, in Velen
the one of from the soldier's mother at the big camp
, and got no XP. reloaded my save and went to do other things.

I figured I could just play some gwent, but I had to reload because at one point I completed a Gwent quest and got no XP.

So basically now I'm playing but not completing anything. Kinda sucks.

Lvl 19 and fought a lvl 33 Bug from a witcher contract.

That bug hit like a truck and fast too. Managed to kill it after 5 deaths. Used 80% of my bombs and some potions.

Worth it!

Also, i just found out that most buyable gwent cards can be bought from those bartenders. :|

Side mission 'Hunt of Dairy and Darkness':

So I just entered the lair of some deranged cheese-based wizard, navigated his cheese maze (because what sort of cheese-lair would it be without a cheese maze) and walked away with a sword Geralt has named "The Emmentaller".

I went from being light on weaponry to finding 7 new swords in a matter of hours. Kept wasting runes on a new one I would find just to find another one 20 minutes later with even better overall stats.

Concerning the romance choice, light on spoilers since I'm not actually near the decision yet I don't think;

Is there a way to help maybe spend time with Yennifer before choosing Triss? Basically I'm wondering if there's a certain side quest with Triss I should hold off on, that way I can go to Skellig and hopefully spend time with Yen before making a choice.

Don't know if it can work that way, but that's how I plan on approaching it if possible.

Yes, you can go to Skellige without failing that side - quest.

If you don't want a weapon any more, you can have a smith disassemble it and get your runes back.

That "uh-oh" moment when you read about this romance stuff and
have said to Triss that you love her and slept with her. Then also slept, once, with Yen since that. I wonder if I have fucked up something now. Goal is to ship Triss this playthrough and Yen on 2nd.

On another note I now regret that I didn't screenshot map locations for potion and gear recipes as I found them. Would have made 2nd playthrough faster and helped others out too.

So i completed a "Towerful of Mice" yesterday and
was there a way to not let Annabelle ghost kill her lover? I remember an option saying "I don't trust you" in the tower when i was talking to her, but didn't select it, could that have prevent his death? And here I thought I was doing a good thing, making the two of them make peace. :(

Seriously? It seems like there is an issue with balancing of XP distribution. You can play side quests for "world building" but I'm pretty sure that's not the only intended benefit (otherwise they wouldn't give XP at all. Some of them give quite a bit, some give almost none). Proper distribution of XP is important in the player feeling a sense of progression. Some long quests give very little, whereas "restore the abandoned village" always gives a nice chunk. Seems off to me.

I think the fact that there's an XP bug on some quests and some people haven't noticed it at all is sort of telling!
Yes, seriously. I really don't think the sidequests are designed to be a stereotypical RPG situation where they're used mainly to grant XP. I think they were intentionally crafted with the intent of worldbuilding and making you attached to the world.

Feel free to check the game files if you think there's a bug. I don't see it. I have a perfectly fine sense of progression, and I'm overleveled and overpowered anyways.
So a weird thing just happened to me:
I reached a town, I saw two people getting burned, Geralt said something,a quest appeared...and now during recap videos I have the "I need to look for Triss" thing, I don't know why, but a king was involved too into the recap. Funny fact is, plot side, I only did Keira missions, both main and sides, but I still need to find the Baron, the witch in the swamp etc. So what happened? It's like the game skipped a section here.
It didn't skip anything. You went to Novigrad early.

Good luck with that. I got it so long time ago I don't remember from where I got it, but I think it was some random chest in some random bush while exploring Velen. I haven't seen it since.

:/
Thanks, I actually was able to find out where to buy it pretty easily!

For anyone else looking for the potion that lets you hold your breath longer, you can buy if from
an herbalist northeast of Oxenfurt. On the map, it's the hut that's surrounded by a oval wall.

I'm wondering about this as well.

I did the same thing as you did.

Without detailed spoilers, will the game have a third scenario for this, or does the game simply overwrite one choice with the other and pretend the first never existed?

I've gotten pretty far into the game past the point of doing the above, and from what I can tell, it seems the game has simply ignored the first decision and has gone with the second.
It's just kind of strange because the last time I saw Triss, she said she'll see me at Kaer Morehen. I then went to Skellige to continue the game, slept with Yennifer. Now I've gone to Kaer Morehen and Triss isn't mentioned or seen at all yet. It's just Yennifer there now.

I expected there to be consequences but I was hoping for something more fleshed out rather than a gamey "you chose X, then Y, so now you only get Y."

Velen is completely ridiculous.

After doing Keira's stuff this morning, been working on Baron stuff now, while getting sidetracked with Peller stuff and other random side shit I find, theres some mighty fine RPG questing going on here.

also, Velen is ridiculous, have I mentioned that? because it is

If you tell both of them that you "I love you," you will not get a pleasant resolution.

I'm normally not one to complain about these things, but
the dead whores in Whoreson Junior's mansion were a cheap way to paint him as evil.

Totally agreed. Actually the way the dialogue plays out,
it almost seems as though the dead women were a last minute addition. Geralt strangely doesn't mention that if you kill Whoreson. It's weird. It's like they got to that point in testing and almost no one at all killed him, so they added that.

The rest of the game is so well written, it's kind of shitty they resorted to something so cheap.

Question about Triss Merigold:

Does it matter much that I slept with her and that she went off to Kaer Mohren? I'm only now arriving to Skellige, so no spoilers please. :p

I have no idea what cards I'm missing for the Gwent trophy. I finally found 1 innkeeper who I didn't play or buy cards from, bought the cards and played him and he didn't give me anything, not even a secondary prize. Just my luck lol.

He dies even if you choose "I don't trust you". The only difference is that you don't free the pest maiden, who then goes out and destroys entire kindoms .. lol. After i read the description of the outcome, i loaded another savegame ^^

Man 3 days of playtime and none of the armour I've found looks nearly as badass as the starting armour

Yepp. You'll get some badass armor later though.

Ursine looks amazing but Cat is way, way better for my playstyle. LonelyGreyWolf am cry. Cat gear doesn't look too shabby though.

That mail was too dope, I probably made the game way harder than it should have been for the first 10 hours or so by sticking with it. Now, 45 hours in I'm just going with the best statistical benefit until level 25-29 where I can start wearing the Witcher Gear from scavenger hunts.

No no no.
It's the same outcome no matter what you choose. When I said I didn't trust her, because she was obviously lying, I had a fight scene with her, where you kind of defeated her but didn't really harm her. Everything after that was pretty much the same. They both died.
