Splatoon |OT| Squidstyler

Sharing bubble is so good. It turns "Don't rush in, you fool!" into "Team wipe! We're awesome!"

Though a lot of people shoot you when you have your shield on, so I suspect they assume it's like shields in other games, not a temporary invincibility.

Yes you are invincible, only counter is squidding away.
I changed my position to thinking it's OP, but only because it lasts so long. Someone started it and I watched them kill a teammate and come at me and I turned on my bubble and it outlasted my bubble and killed me and then another teammate after me. That's way too long.

How long does it take to get to level 20? And how long does it take to unlock everything? Naturally it will variate depending on how well you're playing, but are there any estimates?

Just topped my record with the game of my life

Has anyone ever seen 1800 before?

How do you do that? Ive been focusing on painting the whole game and the max I can get is 900p. Most of the time its 500-600. I don't paint the walls either. Do you have weapon upgrades or something that allows you to paint faster? Does the other team erasing your paint subtract from your score?

I'm consistently getting 800+ with the standard charger. At some point, you start to kill people so effectively that you run out of area to repaint, hence a score cap.

Splatoon miiverse is amazing.

I thought I read somewhere you could "special order" equipment that other people have without the items necessarily being in the shop (like shoes or shirts or hats). Anyone know how to do this? Doesn't seem to give me the option for the people you see in town.

The junkie in the alleyway will hook you up. Just don't ask him how he gets it.

Yup, that's what they said in the Direct but personaly, I didn't tried it yet.

Better to superjump away from the Kraken, if possible.

No, only played as a girl so far, but I'm glad other Landons are good

Good? Nah. Annoyingly everywhere? Yeah.

Also, the key to a high score in this game seems to be having a crap team and having the other team let you go unguarded for long, which also means they are terrible.

You go up to a character in the plaza and when you're looking at them hit the X button. I've order 3 gears so far, only received 1 and hopefully a new shirt today. Items come in 1 at a time, usually takes a day for it to get to spyke.

Help guys, I can't stop going for kills. Even when I'm painting and minding my own business, when I spot an enemy, 15 years of playing dumb shooters get the better of me I don't even realize I'm shooting with ink anymore. :p

Just had an amazing charger vs roller 1v1 that lasted over 30 seconds with all the crazy dodges we were doing, it was amazing fun but also a complete waste of time for my team and my own score. Ranked mode can't come soon enough. XD

I'm having a lot of fun with the Miiverse graffiti feature of the game..
This felt appropriate for Moe to say, given his attitude.

Really enjoying it so far! It's a complete 180 from the demo for me, cause I didn't like that much at all. I think all the customization (clothes, miiverse graffiti) helps a lot to enjoy it for me. The overall presentation is excellent!

Just a cool note on the final boss, if you play it again after beating it, you get different dialogue. Pretty sweet.

Final boss is boss of the year so far.

Stupid question re clothing...

Is it purely based on cosmetics and the first power up on an item? so say 2 pieces of clothing have 2 power up slots and both have the same starter power up they are the same item and its down to whichever you prefer the look of?

How do you get clothing with 2 sub abilities? Every time I go to the shops I only see 1 sub ability

You have to be a high enough level, and apparently stores restock once a day. All yesterday my stores had the same gear, I leveled to 11 and today each store had two pieces of 2-star gear. The rest were still 1 star though.

Sort of. Since you can re-roll abilities at Spyke's I suggest going for whatever clothing you just generally like the look of. That said, abilities are also important to consider. Be sure to check it's Star Count / amount of ability slots.

Late again but..
Splatoon JP twitter updates

I hear squid Institute researchers have discovered the trick outrageous. It seems tricks that TV side can add a gyro function to the controller of the "Battle Doe Joe". While pressing the cross button under the + B button on the screen to select the TV side controller, it's ZR + ZL button.

We need Wii Remote Plus to use this trick. Of course it's also available in Classic Controller / Classic Controller PRO. If you want to use the Wii U PRO controller, it tries to connect the Wii Remote Plus to select the controller in the ZL + ZR "2" of the indicator.

海外からの参加者も増え、すごい勢いで“ガチメーター”のインクがたまってきている。 なんともう、半分を超えたようだ。 まだランク10に到達していない方は、この週末を使って“ガチ解禁”への協力をしてほしい。

Even more participants from overseas, have been accumulated ink of "Gachi meter" like crazy. What more, it seems to have more than half. If you have not yet reached the rank 10, we want the cooperation to the "apt lifting of the ban" to use this weekend.

I love the default splattershot Jr. Just been using that the whole time.

Does no one really know what you can do with items if you don't want the abilities?

OK I think I'm getting better, 4 consecutive games of 900+p, one really close to 1000. Got 9 kills and 2 deaths last game, but I wasnt going for enemies, they just crossed my path when i was painting. Not sure how to make the p's go up faster cause they go up pretty slow when I'm covering an area with paint.

I love the Miiverse implementation on the game. Random Squidwards on the walls. lol

The graffiti approach is probably the best implementation for Miiverse that I've seen in a game. Ultimately it doesn't make a big difference, but it's fun to see what shows up and it really helps to give the game more of a "community" vibe. I just wish I could draw better, I don't know how people get some of that stuff on without spending hours on it.

This might be out of date - still catching up. However, for people who've completed (or at least, very nearly completed) the single-player mode:

I take it people have already seen

Okay. With that in mind... take another look at Scroll 26. I won't paste it for spoiler reasons, of course.
