Earthbound is the best. Mother 3 is... fantastic. But I think it is fantastic because of Earthbound.

Its possible usually, though Im scared to think of how much grinding you'd need to do in the final dungeon for that.

Some of the difficulty comes from there being very large, empty, mazelike maps that just wear you down, and you can still die from the gradual attrition.

IIRC the enemies aren't visible on the map like in Mother 2, either. No quick battle avoidance.

This is the worst dungeon in the game. Though the dungeon before the final dungeon is also pretty confusing without a map.

To anyone else bothered by the shittastic dark filter, I've found that the GamePad generally retains the game's original look and Mother is no different here, so I suggest you direct your eyes to that.

Itoi has said for the longest time that Mother 3 was the final game. It doesn't look like his stance has changed recently either.
