Finished season 1. The ending was pretty good. I hope they leave Kingpin alone for a long while. I got bored of his character by the end. I thought Ben's death was handled well but Wesley's death was a total, out of character, convenient for the story, unbelievable kind of tv moment. There were some low points but overall it was a solid first season.

Stupid-ass Karen should've died since she was the one who tricked him into going to the nursing home. I'm still mad about it.

Exactly. They make it hard to like Karen's character sometimes.

They built up ben's character so much and the heart felt scenes with his wife...not meant to go out like that man damn.

Him being alive would serve a bigger purpose for the show than killing him. I wonder if they regret it. Probably not.

Oh yah Wesley was awesome too. Sad to see him go.

I'm more flabbergasted of the quality of the shots, I mean - come on, it's 2015. Cameras can shoot in 4K for goodness sake, use the tech!

I can't see Frank Castle in him.
It is probably because I have never seen The Punisher with that kind of hair cut (but it exist in the comics apparently) and I wonder if they're gonna drop the skull logo.

No they wont. The skull is the most important thing about him. If they drop the skull its like having Daredevil with a pink outfit, nunchucks and not being blind.

Also that haircut is cool and maybe fits his background better. Also it can grow back over the season.

Just finished the series. I liked it overall. Liked the tone. There were a few things I didn't quite like, though. It got a bit weird with the fucking ninja dudes and Stick. Thought Stick was a bit much with his whole... schtick about the impending war or whatever. Got too comic book-y, I suppose.

Fisk was a great villain, and I loved the casting overall.

I also really didn't like the fight scenes. They have like no impact at all. The ending fight in particular was kind of bad. For all intents and purposes Fisk should have been all kinds of broken around his entire face and he's still talking? Ok... That and it was kind of hilarious Daredevil hit him like 8 times with those sticks and then he talks and he has to put him out by dropping the sticks an punching him instead.

Overall I suppose that's a bit of a minor complaint. I'm a bit worried about next season. I really hate the whole superhero ensemble cast bullshit they seem to be pulling nowadays and hearing they're shoving a bunch of other people into this one has me kind of on edge about it, but we'll see. I'll still watch it for sure. Definitely think the guy playing Punisher could be cool.

Is Daredevil good for someone who doesn't like superhero films/TV where the genre is JUST superhero?

I'd say yes. I'm not terribly into superhero films (outside of batman), but I liked Daredevil. There are a few moments that were kind of silly and superhero-y, but for the most part it's pretty grounded.

I like the high and tight on Bernthal. Much better than Stevenson's slicked back hair. I get the feeling that Castle ain't got time to fuck with his hair, nor does he want to.

Holy shit this is gonna be cool.

I binged on the show this weekend. Loved every moment of it. Everyone grew on me tremendously. I didn't even liked Fisk, reportwe and DD's best friend at first, but adored them end. There were some parts they really went all out with, in terms of violence and plot. I was like "YES" when he saved
the russian
. Really surprised me. I loved season 1 and 2 of Arrow so this was just an adventure land for me.

The only thing I didn't like was how the romance ended between Daredevil and the nurse. It felt very abrupt. Did they have a contract issue or something? Sucks because they felt like they had a good amount of build up and amazing chemistry.

I'm hoping for my blu ray copy already. I hope they release it and not hold it hostage on netflix.

A bit random, but towards the end of the season there were a couple of episodes where I thought Charlie Cox would make a great Sam Beckett in a QL reboot.

Probably because it's not that good of a show.

I mean, I enjoyed it and everything, but it's hardly award winning material. I can easily find better scored, scripted, acted and shot films. And if we are talking about stunt work, Banshee and Strike Back run a train on everything currently on TV. Now there's a crime.

I disagree. Vincent D'Onofrio's work is highly worthy of an award. Charlie Cox was great as well, though not at the same level. The Rotten Tomatoes Score is also very high, 98%, which compares favorably to the best reviewed television shows of the season.

Banshee didn't get a thing? Fuck these big awards shows.

I finally finished the season this weekend. Overall, I thought it was really good. It hits all the right notes of the character, the fights are intense and well-choreographed, and the supporting cast is fantastic. The biggest difference it has from comic book movies is there is more time to focus on the characters, which is also the season's biggest strength. The actors playing Matt, Karen, Ben, Wesley, Stick, Elena, Claire, the priest, etc. all do a really good job. Although he's far from the best actor on the show, former Bash Brother Elden Henson comes across as a charming Foggy Nelson. The best character in the show by far though is Leland Owlsley (played by Bob Gunton) because he just doesn't give a fuck. Killing him off was a travesty.

My biggest issue with the first season is D'onofrio's performance as Wilson Fisk. You would think that someone with his power and connections would be personable and charismatic, but he comes across as the opposite. D'onofrio speaks in short bursts with an unnaturally gruff voice and his most common facial expression is one of constant pain. He's not so much intimidating as he is awkward.

Also, there is a fine line between superhero costumes being cool and campy. Unfortunately, the suit in the final episode is closer to being the latter.

Halt & Catch Fire opening title wins for me personally hands down.

I like Daredevil's main title design, but both Halt and Catch Fire and Manhattan easily beat it in my opinion.

Fantastical

Death Prophet

A shame Bloodline didn't get nominated. Simple but really good. It's not as involved as the other nominees, so I get it, but I loved it. Looked forward to seeing it every time. Really beautiful. Certainly better than American Horror Story.

Just finished the season......Man I couldn't disagree more about Fisk. I thought he was the first memorable and well crafted villain in any Marvel movie or TV show I have seen. D'onofrio killed it!

I loved his performance. Was the best of the show. And if I am honest was one of the better villains I have seen in a comic book show/film period. He managed to be complex, multi-layered, slightly empathetic but still menacing. I can completely buy how he rose to where he did. He has the right mix of intimidation, slight crazy, internal drive, intelligence and wits that many successful criminals have had.

It's frankly a damn shame how it ended because I would love for him to come back and be a staple going forward.

Finally watched this a few days ago and I really liked it. I loved how the series was as much about Fisk as it was about Mugdock.
Best character was definitely Owlsly, he just gives no fuck for anybody except himself (and his son I guess)
