This thead is barely active as it. It's April, it's cool to discuss the show without spoiler tags. We might as well include production discussion.

At this point, is it just safe to assume we won't be getting Bullseye this season? I would have thought we'd get a casting confirmation by now.

Seeing that Jason Statham were originally supposed to be cast as Bullseye, I do believe the character will show up in Season 2 alongside Elektra and Punisher.

But seeing that filming has begun, I understand the concern, and they might have moved him to an eventual S3.

Wasn't it just Latino Review claiming that he was approached to play Bullseye? I don't remember any of the trades like Variety or Deadline reporting it. Could be that they were looking at him for Punisher instead? Or that the entire thing was bunk to begin with. :P

It seems pretty much confirmed that Marvel was talking with Jason Statham about some kind of role in the MCU (may not have actually been Bullseye from the sounds of it):

Didn't the Statham/Bullseye deal fall through because someone in his camp leaked the deal so they could leverage the positive feedback and Mahvel/Netflix was having none of it?

I went on a binge watching this. Marvel finally got it fucking right. This is how you tell one of your stories. I'm mad that Ben Urich had to die though. Great character. Stick was fucking incredible and I loved Foggy.

I think I will make a Season 2 Production Thread.
My computer with the prototype is just broken for a couple of days, but I will make one ASAP

not reading the thread since almost done with s1. I have to say, I like the show, but D'onofrio puts out a little too much 'egger' and it ruins the immersion a bit. Anyone else get this?

Dont think we know this is a revised suit or not. That doesn't appear to be the same actor in the suit and it was from a panel on costume design? Again it could simply have been early protorype of the original suit for all we know.

Umm, that sure as hell looks like Cox in both those shots.

Went through the show again, with my mom watching this time, and she really got into it. It's a testament to how good it is that somebody who, as far as I know, has never been into comics is willing to binge-watch.

Watched the first four eps or so back in...April? When it came out. Thought it was just okay, though, couldn't really get into it and found it was a bit violent for me. Thinking of giving it another shot. Does it get significantly better or is the quality the same throughout?

Frank, why do you want more guns? You don't even play with all the one's you have : )

I'm expecting this to be the best portrayal of Frank. That's not a high bar to clear but I need to see it.

If the first four didn't capture you, I don't think the rest of the season will. While I liked the whole thing, I felt like the best episodes were the first few, with the best scene of the entire series at the end of episode two.

That is good to know, thank you. I appreciate it. I watched an ep last night and it was just okay. I might be able to soldier through the rest of the eps since I watch 'em while exercising. So it's something to watch while doing that at least. If I was just sitting and watching it I wouldn't have tried it again, but in this context I'll probably watch the remaining eps.

I had no idea Netflix sold its shows on bluray. That's pretty dope.

Netflix does not, because Netflix does not actually have any show on its own.

It are the production studio's sister companies or other distributors who sell the Blu-rays.
For example House Of Cards is made by MRC and distirbuted by Sony, both on Blu-ray, VOD, and international brodacasts.

EDIT:
Without knowing the details of the deal between Marvel/Disney and Netflix, it is impossible to product if or when DareDevil will come on Blu-ray.
If we would House Of Cards season 3 as a benchmark, it took a little bit over 4 months for the season to be released on DVD in the U.S.
That time is almost over for DareDevil, and I have not seen any announcement.

I actually thought the first half of the season was better than the second, which wavered a little. But by that point, I was already firmly invested in what was going on. The whole thing is really good overall though, hell my wife doesn't really like superhero movies or action in general, and she was pushing me to binge watch every night for a week.

Thanks man. I appreciate the advice. I'll keep with it for the moment!

No prob, like I said the first half is probably a little more consistent in quality or at least more interesting, but that's because the characters are being set-up. So if you like the first half, you should like the second but if the first half failed to grab you, I don't think the second half will change your mind. But if you stick with it, I 'think' you'll be satisfied overall.

So I just finished season 1 last night. What a surprisingly great show. Acting was solid, but I felt that the characters (especially Fisk and Murdock) enunciated a little too well. I don't know why this bothered me, but it really did. Also, until the very end of the season, most of the action choreography was on point. I really only had one of those eyeroll moments when he's chasing down the car with the blind Chinese guy and doing needless flips and spins while traversing the rooftops. Reminded me of that Arrow season 3 trailer.

I actually slept on this series for so long simply because I hated the Affleck DD so much, but this actor really did a good job. I really like how they explored Fisk's psyche and background too, as I'm a firm believer that a hero is only as good as his villain. I'm really excited to see where they go in season 2.

Also, black mask outfit > daredevil costume.

I'm sure you're right, and I appreciate the caveat, truly. I think my standards when watching something whilst also exercising are slightly lower than they normal would be, in terms of how much I have to enjoy something to keep watching it, so I think you're right that I'll be satisfied enough on the whole. Thanks man.

I'd be interested in your thoughts once you're done. Keep us posted :)
