Well that's where it becomes completely uninteresting and cliche. I would have avoided going down that path at all costs.

Iffy reddit rumors are the only thing supporting that, anyway.

Guessing that they would use Zod's biology to manufacture kryponite was not a big reach.

I don't use reddit. ;)

The "new hero is misunderstood and is at odds with the established hero until they figure out they're on the same side" thing isn't cliche? The entire movie is predictable as hell. This is about the spectacle of these two characters on the big screen together for the first time.

I swear, Ben looks so much better as Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight than Christian Bale did. He really looks the part.

For me it goes way beyond the look, too. It's even the way he holds himself. That scene in the trailer where he stands out of the wreck of his vehicle to stand to face Superman is beautiful. The way he slowly rises to his full height in such a slow and measured way, is just so perfectly Batman.

Man, that trailer looks damn good. Hopefully it's not just a "Snyder makes great trailers" situation and we actually get a great film a la Watchmen.

I really, really hope Doomsday isn't in this. Fuck Doomsday.

Absolutely.
The thing mentioned above just takes it to a worse level for me because that's what unites them.

I don't think that line is from that conversation with the Senator. He's openly talking about pitting Batman and Superman against each other, clearly, so I can see that being some flowery villain monologue for Mercy's benefit or something.
I didn't notice that was a separate shot. Yeah, probably is something along those lines.

Is this supposed to be a good thing? lol

DC is darker, mature and has solid stories.

Marvel is popcorn.

Marvel started out Nice I thought Iron Man was well done and was made for adults, but they been slowly moving towards a kiddie audience, and AoU reek of Disney's touch, too much kiddie shit, don't know how it was rated PG13..

Okay, this looks fucking great. But I said the same thing about Man of Steel, so hopefully the final product is good. At least they're acknowledging that Superman did major collateral damage in MoS.

well if nothing else the guy who made the trailer needs a promotion, that was hype as hell.
Afaik does Snyder cut the trailers himself ( or is at least a big part of it)

Edit: from an interview about Man Of Steel

SHH: I’ve always been fascinated by the marketing you’ve done for your movies because it’s always been something you’ve really excelled at, even from the first promos of “300” and “Watchmen” at Comic-Con. I was curious how involved in the marketing this time around you were able to be and wanted to be? Obviously, it’s very interesting from Comic-Con last year to the promotions. I was curious, are you still very much involved in the marketing of the movies you work on?
Snyder: Yeah, I am intentionally involved in all the marketing, and Jen Horvath, she basically, when we had to do the trailer, I moved her right into my editing suite. She cut the trailer with me because I really wanted to make the trailer personal to the movie and Jen is amazing. She’s cut quite a bunch of trailers for me in the past. We cut all of the trailer for “Man of Steel” in the office with me. It was definitely not the traditional like, “Oh, this must be what the trailer companies figure out for the trailer.”

I imagine it's the same situation with Batman v Superman

Yeah, I honestly think he is going to give us the best Batman yet. What we have seen blows the rest away. Especially Christian Bale.

Predictable movies can still be good....who says they can't.

When you read a comic book you know Superman and Batman are gonna win at the end....it's about how they do it.
