That's the thing with the ending of MoS it doesn't say how much time has passed since battle with Zod. I always expected the whole damage caused by the battle to be a plot point in future films it obvious way to bring in Lex.

A subcommittee hearing usually takes a month to begin after a major event so I think the events start right after man of steel

Ma Kent's monologue pisses me off the more I hear it.

I thought it was clear what she was saying. That he could be all those things she described for the people or none of it. It was his choice. However that he didn't owe the world anything. He's not in indebted to it. He has every right to be here. I bet this is part of a larger speech with the ultimate point being that he should use his powers because he wants to and wants to do good. Not out of any obligation to anyone.

I think that's a fair stance to take. He should want to do good or be a symbol for people by choice. Not because it's forced upon him or he's trapped to do so. I would think this is something a parent would want for their child. For them to make the choice regarding how they live their life. Earth is his home. It's not his fault he was sent to Earth as a baby. He has every right to be there as it's the only home he's ever known and doesn't have to prove to anyone he has a right to be here. This is all what I'm taking from that bit of dialogue.

I originally had a problem with it but now I've come to interpret it the same way as you have.

Opinions are that guardians is actually a not so good movie the dark knight trilogy is not a SUPERhero movie like superman is and yes in terms of superheroes with superpowers MoS is the best movie, better than any other SUPERHERO movie.

So which movie with a person with superpowers is better ? Of all superhero movies mos is the best one

The list is quite long, and GotG would be high at the top of that list, I mean holy crappy opinions Batman!!!!!

I got around to watching this, and have no idea what people are seeing in it that excites them. It looks... kinda bad. But different strokes.
I'm a huge fan of Nolan's Batman trilogy, but for me, it'll be refreshing to see a confident, semi-psycho Batman as opposed to the "real person," full of doubts Batman we've had for three movies.

I feels like a continuation of the films theme. Basically Supes has survivors guilt, he's hated by half the world as a genocidal criminal, revered and fawned over by the other as a savior (which is clearly uncomfortable with, as they all try to reach out and touch him). And yeah, the guy doesn't have to risk his life every damn day to save others and he's not an asshole if he doesn't. Basically Spider-man 2's "I want a life of my own" dilemma.

What if Batman v Superman shows that the last scene of Man of Steel took place 6 months after?

It can add clarity, even retroactive correction clarity, to some of the questionable (but ambiguous) scenes in Man of Steel. How many people died in the Metropolis battle? How much damage did it actually cause to the city? And, as I said earlier, how long after the end of the battle did the final scene take place?

Videos like this actually do a good job of that already. But canonically referring to things like this video does in a sequel could make it hard to view Man of Steel the same way you did.

It could be interesting if they played with Man of Steel's timeline like that, but it seems like a dicey proposition, and would probably create even more questions that need answering.

I actually like it the more I hear it. Clark is still her son and she is protective of him. I'm sure she wants him to do the right thing, but just like others moms, she will love him no matter what.

Another thing I was wondering with the trailer... Since Batman seems to be getting messages from The Joker, I wonder if The Joker was the one who painted "False God" on the Superman statue in the first teaser and not Batman like we all previously thought.

As a Man of Steel fan I think this looks great.

Also #TeamMaKent

Superman saved the entire human race from extinction, he doesn't owe them shit. I like that the Kent family cares more about their son's well-being than the fulfillment of a heroic prophecy.

It's just my opinion. It's the worst Batman has ever looked.

I don't like it compared to previous suits especially Nolan's.

It's funny though, right? Nolan batsuit - supposedly lightweight and flexible but Batman moves like an elephant. This new batsuit is thick and chunky but batman moves like hey I'm a weightless CGI bee! Whooosh!!

MoS's script was shit and the rumors of the third act problems were right on the money, someone on another site's boards that I irregularly visit ripped it and the rest of the movie to shreds in a way I only wish I could've articulated. The fact that Goyer got the boot and they brought in someone else to redo the BvS script is pretty much the only hope I have but it doesn't seem like it'll be enough.

I laughed at this for several minutes until it hurt, holy crap.

This is what I and others were saying about the conversation between young Clark and Johnathan after he saved the school bus full of his classmates...

All the Affleck critics have gone into hiding now it looks like. No one can argue with a serious face that Bale or any of the other batman's before at least in the looks department is as good.

MoS wasn't a good movie. No amount of after the fact tinkering will make that movie good.

No but you see the BVS blu-Ray will come with "MOS expanded universe edition"

Featuring a Wayne corp logo digitally added to that one building and SIX MONTHS LATER stapled on the bottom of the ending.

For Batman to work like Justice League Batman he'd have to be quite a bit more nimble than his previous onscreen versions.

The suit itself isn't meant to be chunky, Affleck is a lot bigger than Bale.

That's one awesome trailer. My only concern is that it ends up being bloated and convoluted.

I wasn't concern about that much til I saw Diana so prominent in the trailer.

I think a Movie exploring Sups place in this world clashing with Bats philosophy and Lex playing puppet master can work well, but if a major character like Diana is added to the mix, it does give the chance of the film being bloated more credence.

Hah, I just noticed the blue God Hates Aliens sign as Superman hovers down in front of the senate.

Love it and it's totally believable too that someone would be out there with a sign like that.

There's no way those opinions exist.

...Is there?

Pretty good trailer.

Love the joker references.. Maybe he makes an appearance? Doubtful

Can anyone read lips? What was Bruce yelling at the beginning while on the phone? Jack? Todd?

I bet Lex loses his hair after coming in close contact with the large piece of kryptonite shown in the trailer. Radiation and whatnot.

Like the quick and brutal batman in the fight scenes. Looked like Supes wasn't even fighting back in the beginning, but probably lost it for a second when he used his Heat vision on CG grapple Bat.

I'm wondering what wonder woman's role is in this whole thing. That was a sick explosion she caused.

I'm hoping there's a powerful enemy or something and not just superman v batman, or long haired Lex.. Or Wonder Woman.

Isn't Aquaman supposed to be in this too? Lol

Love this trailer. The one thing it highlights is how seemingly out of place Eisenberg, as Luthor, seems. I really hope it's just the trailer and the movie proves me wrong.

Something I thought was interesting is that Bruce Wayne is fighting Superman with his influence and Clark Kent was fighting Batman with his reporting.

Great trailer, but I have no faith in Snyder. Every single one of his movies have had great trailers, and I've been disappointed in all of them.

Hopefully Chris Terrio stepping in and Goyer being booted out makes for an increase in quality. Affleck seems to be more heavily invested in this which is a good thing.

Agreed. It's an incredibly simple message, but extremely effective nevertheless. Batman runs in where others run away.

As much as I like that shot I hope they show first-responders not too far behind him.

Like, actual men and women ran into a cloud of smoke and debris very similar to that one. So hopefully they highlight the human heroism that they and Batman embody, not Batman alone.

I like how he's scrawny and meek, and can bring a God to his literal knees. Him smugly mocking him with his hand as Superman looks pissed was awesome. Thats going to be a really interesting scene.

Superman looked pissed, disgusted, and helpless while Lex almost touches him. Perfect.

What is your favorite shot. Mine is still Bruce Wayne running into the cloud, that is an iconic moment

It's difficult to choose. The shot you said was incredible, just like the dark knight returns' thunder shot, Wonder Woman's shots and Batman standing up with balls of steel shot. I love all these shots.

I think there is a high chance of first responders seen right when batman is holding the girl

Snyder said that he is being really inspired by The Dark Knight Returns, but isn't directly doing that. I would guess that Batman might be retired for a bit with most of the villains in jail (Suicide Squad). After the events of Man of Steel he returns. With him coming back I think that also brings the Joker out of hiding. There probably won't be a direct scene with him in it, maybe it will just be those little messages throughout the movie, teasing him leading up to the Suicide Squad.

To me it seemed like he was yelling on the phone "Get out!"

Batman may convince Wonder Woman to help him take out Superman, eventually till they all realize that Lex has been behind it all.

But then again....Who the hell knows. lol.

I think that selfless heroism contrasts pretty heavily with Superman's constant hedging.

It's pretty telling to me that Bruce Wayne, a mere mortal, ran headlong into the ruins of Metropolis, with the clear intent to save any lives he could.

The first responders thing really rankles me. Still can't get over it.

That shot of Zod's corpse potentially confirms the rumor of
Doomsday being in the film. Can't be a coincidence that it was shown while Luthor was speaking.
