Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Comic-Con Trailer

One of my problems with Carrie Kelly as a Robin (and her being so old when she begins) is that it completely ignores the point of Robins - they're his kids. I really hope there's nothing sexual between Carrie and Bruce. (Which is the whole reason Miller made a girl Robin in the first place. Ugh.)

There's nothing sexual about their relationship in TDKR. It's very much Father/daughter.

Bruce and Barbara in the DCAU is FAR creepier.

We haven't had any official confirmation when these two movies take place. Originally the rumor was that SS takes place before Batman V Superman. However, with Batman clearly in SS riding on top of Joker's car, it looks like he's out of retirement at that point which would place SS after BvS.

Could easily be a flashback.

Is it at all possible that the "You let your family die!" thing is just hate mail received from anti-superman crazies, rather than Joker or Red Hood, and the "family" they are referring to his the people in the Wayne Building who died in Man of Steel? I just wonder if people are reading waaaay too much into it.

It definitely gets creepier in the sequel. And like I said, it's the whole reason why Frank Miller chose a female Robin in the first place. :/ Not saying they're gonna do that in the movies, but it doesn't make me anymore keen on the character.

The first BvS is at 43 million and was released under the worst circumstances.

1st it got leaked with a potato cam
2nd Star Wars Celebration and Teaser #2

SS definitely happens after MoS at least, due to Waller mentioning Supermans appearance bring all the crazies back out.

Probably happens after BvS though if BvS is directly after MoS.

Not to mention that Waller says Superman brought out the crazies, and unless BvS takes place a year-plus after the events of Man of Steel, it doesn't make sense for SS to take place before it.

I'm guessing the Batman sighting is a flashback in the movie. Maybe it shows Joker getting his teeth knocked out, and Harley getting captured.

I'm so luke warm on this movie. I'm not coming into a thread to shit post here but I really struggle to enjoy gritty superhero movies. They feel like they are trying too hard all the time.

I'm a big MCU fan because they really do the characters justice without being too wacky. TDK trilogy and MoS really don't float my boat. I can enjoy them but I don't get excited like I do for MCU titles or Flash or Arrow.

Aquaman is in this right? Hopefully he gets lots of screen time. I really like Momoa and Aquaman

This is probably the most rational and sane posting I've seen about this in the past 2 days, haha. It's exactly what I was thinking it was. There are HUGE leaps in logic for any other reason. If it was the Joker, then he would have to know Bruce Wayne is Batman. If it was Lex, then that is totally out of character, especially with the crazy red marker letters. Also, if you note, it's a photocopy of the paper, as there is no print on the back side and it's neatly addressed to Wayne Enterprises given the location of where Bruce opens it.

That is definitely a logical assumption. I think people are linking that with the Defaced Robin costume as well though.

I think Suicide Squad is before Bvs, i'll spoiler the reasons
Batman on top of the car after being out of the game a while (we see him train with the tire/getting back in shape. Heavy rumours Joker scenes are flashbacks to the Robin killing. It looks like the Batmobile gets totally destroyed in BVS, and I imagine they'll go for a newer model in Justice League

Nah. Star Wars trailer got 88 million in 24 hours. Don't know how it pulled that off lol

Seriously? God damn. I knew they beat Ultron but didn't know it was that high. It released on iTunes first and then some non official channels IIRC so the official YouTube number was always low

It's the Batwing shell

Also, pay attention to where the Batwing is flying into during the trailer. Looks like the area where Wonder Woman is fighting.

Those scenes from the trailer looked like the climatic battle from the third act of the movie, where they fight some big villain.

Teaser 2 didn't release on iTunes first - it went live on YouTube simultaneously with the screening at Celebration. Hell, Teaser 1, which was supposed to release on iTunes first, didn't either, because iTunes went down when it was made available. People saw it first on YouTube - MovieClips' channel, I believe.

Confused about the chronology of the film. So, Batman has already been around prior to Superman? And Robin was already killed by Joker? Do we know anything about which Robin it was?

I was lukewarm on this at first but it's winning me over, just hope the story is good. It still looks fun even if it's a bit darker tone, the Nolan Batman films never felt very superhero-y to me so this is a welcome change for Batman

Suicide Squad on the other hand looks completely uninteresting to me. Hope an official trailer changes my opinion

Batman has been around for 20 years at this point, though he might be in retirement for the last 10 or so due to Robin's death? It appears the Robin that was killed was
Dick Grayson as the tombstone states in some spy photos.
But that's not 100% confirmed and could be an easter egg.

It could be both
the flashback is before BvS then SS is later maybe even before JL or solo Batman

I think SS is after BvS but has a couple of flashbacks before MoS. Doesn't make sense to me Bruce stays in retirement with Joker on the loose. Either way they all seem connected pretty close.

I'm slightly confused -- was that Wonder Woman "blast" towards screen [cut-to] Massive yellow energy field one of that characters powers? Or likely just clever editing?

Yup. Also the movie clips version of that trailer has almost 20 million views bc it's the first one that shows up when you search Batman vs. Superman instead of V.

Dick is Robin I. He becomes Nightwing in some other city once he's older.
Jason Todd is Robin II, gets murdered. His presence is seeded in BVS and SS, and he's revealed as The Red Hood in the Batman solo. Todd's death caused Bruce to stop his war.
Carrie Kelly (Jena Malone) is the New Robin that helps Batman out once he exits retirement and returns to active duty.

Skip Tim Drake and Damian Wayne altogether.

Wasn't there a leak at some point that said that there was a female Robin? And then WB went after that person hard, basically confirming that leak?

Damien wayne is 86 times more interesting than her

also the other two mainline female robins are also 86 times more interesting than her

Tim's kinda eh though

lolno Damien is a garbage tier Robin. Always bitching about he's better than everybody else and uppity and shit.

20 years. Probably by the Joker. And no, we don't know.

Oh, gotcha. So he's a seasoned Batman. Interesting. Thanks guys!

It's completely conceivable that in the DCEU (or DCCU or DCMU, whatever the hell you wanna call it), the Joker knows the identity of Batman.

We know the Joker has killed Robin. In some interpretations, including the most recent Arkham Knight game, we know that Joker tortured Robin enough to make him confess Batman's secret identity (although he "kills" Robin just before he tells him).

We also know that the Joker typically does not want Batman dead, or even want his secret identity to be publicly known. He wants Batman to keep being Batman, and keeping chasing him around (otherwise what's the point of being the Joker?).

It's completely reasonable to think this version of the Joker knows who Batman really is, but chooses to keep that secret to himself. This even sets up what could be a major plot point for Suicide Squad: Amanda Waller needs the Joker to tell her who Batman really is.

Damien is God-Tier

Why is batman so mad?

Darkness
No parents
Continued darkness
More darkness, get it?
The opposite of light
Black hole
Curtains drawn
In the basement
Middle of the night
Blacked-out windows
Other places that are dark
Black suit
Black coffee
You get it, that's just the first verse

Darkness
No parents
Super rich
Kinda makes it better

People comparing Damien to Tim tier wtf.

Damien gave Batman a personality for first time in years. He was best Robin with best Batman (dick). Dude is elitist for legit reasons he son of the goddamn batman and his grandfather is Ras Al fucking Ghul. Of course he going to laugh at rest of bat family.

All of this and a bag of skittles

All these talks about Robins, I think I prefer if they skipped them and go straight to Terry McGinnis.

That said, am I the only one hated the idea Batman retires early? I feel like alot of these DCU setup seems further complicate things.
