Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Comic-Con Trailer

i gotta say though i almost rolled my eyes at wonder woman's first scene with the explosion. snyder already did that like 20 times in man of steel where a big hit causes explosive impact.

it's such a boring scene now. i'm hoping that glimpse of action (likely going to be the trinity vs. a bad guy) at the end isn't indicative of what I think is going to happen. I'd like snyder to move away from that final battle in man of steel and be way more imaginative. don't need to explode buildings every 3 seconds to show us some cool ass abilities.

most looking forward to batman's action scenes tbh since he'll be more martial arts than the other two.

edit: fox movies should count for marvel if y'all gonna keep doing this 'feud' between dc and marvel lol, they're gonna kill it next year with xmen and deadpool. maybe gambit too we'll see. I think xmen is already guaranteed >>> civil war and doctor strange. but deadpool looks surprisingly fun as hell too.

From what i've heard Deadpool won it for Marvel. Only seen a crap video of the trailer but man, does it look awesome.

This doesn't even count, it's FOX.

It's part of their Xmen universe.

New Spiderman will half count since it will be Sony's but within the MCU. Deadpool isn't.

Not like that, check out io9 or Verge, they literally say that this was a bad Comic Con for DC, its crazy

Yeah that seems patently absurd. Suicide Squad and BvS are probably the biggest superhero film risks since the first Avengers. The fact that both are looking at the very least decent with DC having lagged behind so much is impressive.

And this is why we should all be glad this comes out next year.

They definitely need to put some work into the CG. There is still plenty of time, but even MoS had jarring transitions from real to CG in it.

They're both looking quite promising, and DC had a tremendous con. But to call The Avengers a "risk" is more than a bit of a stretch. That film, as the capper to Phase One, was an absolute mortal lock.

Guardians of the Galaxy on the other hand, was an enormous risk, and is IMO, a significantly better film than The Avengers.

I can totally agree with that. Avengers just came to mind first since I think the tenor around that time was that Avengers was the final card on a long built house and if put on wrong, the whole thing could crash and take Marvel's phase plan with it

Of course it bloody well count. It's not Marvel MCU vs Marvel FOX vs DC. It's DC vs Marvel, and i'm talking about the comic-book brands not the movies.

Does anyone realize how smart this trailer was? In this scene it's like Batman is getting his introduction to this universe when Superman broke the doors to welcome him and the Dark Knight Rises. I bet that one scene they're going to talk it out and team up.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Supes looks like he's actually saving him from the car.

SupermanOfLife.

I dont know. Batman kind of looks silly in that scene. Looks like he got wrecked, then Supes comes over to rip the doors off because enough is enough. Once exposed in some weird squatting position Batman is just kind of like "well, this is embarrassing", and awkwardly stands up, "So...uh... what's up."

"Oh fuck. Maybe he'll think I'm dead--oop, okay, be cool be cool be cool be cool."

everything is so sexy

especially jeremy irons alfred

gahhhhhh

alfred has never been so delectable amg what is going on

pls fastforward time :< i wants to see the movie already ;___;

"People hate what they don't understand. Be their hero, Clark. Be their angel, be their monument, be anything they need you to be... or be none of it. You don't owe this world a thing. You never did."

Preach, Martha!

How does anything about Superman's face suggest he's saving/welcoming Batman?

He probably wouldn't be pleased about the fact he's gotta rescue the dipshit who's been trying to pick a fight with him and who he considers to be running a "reign of terror" or whatever.

People are suggesting that's gonna be the handshake scene, but I bet it's closer to the "argue about philosophical differences REALLY strenuously before coming to some sort of understanding kinda/sorta as some other threat breaks out that necessitates them working together" scene

Oh yeah, easily.

There looks to be exactly ten billion fucking things going on in this movie, and Snyder has yet to show he can pace or direct anything but the most simplistic of stories.

Actually there's only 3 things going on.

- Batman vs. Superman

- Superman answering to the atrocities caused in the fight

- Lex turning evil

Today: Comic-Con Losers: DC

I think their point (take it what you will) was that they had a chance with all their stuff coming up and Marvel not being there to do something much bigger than two trailers.

Not that I necessarily agree but I imagine that

Also you can't really call it clickbait.

The title makes no reference to DC, the title is just Winners/Losers, hardly a clickbait title

I think the stupider comment was to say Leto was a loser because apparently exit interviewees didn't like his 10 seconds in the trailer.

Batman : superman, you know we fought and all and I hope your super hearing can hear me , Alfred ordered the wrong part and I am stuck

superman walks to car angrily and breaks open door and says next time use AAA;

It sounds like the kind of arguments we hear at E3. "You didn't show what we thought you should show, so you lose." Which I suppose is a view to take, but it can fly in the face of overall reaction, which has been more positive for DC then it's been in a long while.

My problem with this movie is that it's just making me want a solo Batffleck film instead.

Totally, I don't necessarily agree with the opinion, I just get annoye about how every opinion that someone doesn't like means the author was just clickabaiting (which again doesn't even make sense in this story as the headline is basic and makes no reference to DC)

An issue that was raised is that DC has been talking Batman v Superman for the past 3 years soooo.... Plus let's not kid ourselves the Suicide Squad trailer got severely mixed reactions too.

I am a little worried. And I know none of you guys are, just sharing my two cents.

I have nothing against Wonder Woman, and I think she deserves her own movie.

But I hope to god she has a fairly small part in this.

It was supposed to be "man versus god".

Not "man somewhat fighting alongside goddess versus a god".

She is far too powerful. She has magic powers, she can fly, she is nothing like a normal human. It completely takes the stakes away from the whole plot.

Batman can handle Superman on his own as demonstrated in the Dark Knight returns.

I feel like having another super powered being in the main story is only going to take away from that human versus god kind of epic fight.

Also people want the Flash and Aquaman....... It's precisely everything that can go wrong with this movie. If anybody has to show up, it's Nightwing. Men versus Gods. Not "every single super powered being around , and that rich guy" vibe I'm getting.

I'd love to see a Superman / Wonderman against Batman and Nightwing, or hell, spice things up to even the odds, Batman / Wonderwoman against Superman/Nightwing (since Alfred doesn't agree with Bruce he could have asked Nightwing to reason him).

Having too many super powers will ruin the conflict in my opinion.

And what in the world is so special about Superman since Wonderwoman can do pretty much everything he does already ? At least for the general public.
You know they'll stop fighting by around half the movie right? I doubt the entire movie will be them going against one another. They will figure it out towards the middle, start going after Lex and possibly another top tier villain.

Why is that a problem? That is coming as well. I think it's going to be written by him as well.

We already know that the batman and superman fight is not at the end of the movie it's way before the end.

It's a problem only as much as I'm impatient :P.

It's not actually a problem. I just freaking love Batman, and Batffleck just has me stupid excited and everytime Batman wasn;t in the trailer I wanted Batman lol.

It's not actually a criticism or anything, I just want Batman ha ha ha.

Did I mention I want more Batman XD

They can't really show stuff that hasn't even started production.

I know like I said I'm not saying io9 was right or that I agree I'm just saying I can see why they came to that opinion especially since 1/2 of their lot got so so reactions in the first place.

I loved both trailers, but I can see if you thought Batman v Superman trailer didn't really bring much new and weren't digging the Suicide Squad trailer why you might think DC din't make a splash.

And really they didn't make a splash even if you did like those two things, but not making a splash doesn't mean losing either.

Mostly I just think io9 is generally a really good Geekery site so I wanted to defend em a bit

Aye. Apocalypse is just gonna wreck everything in 2016.

Nah it'll do well but it'll finish behind Civil War and Batman v Superman. Maybe even Doctor Strange if the marketing goes well on that one.

Unless you just meant quality and then maybe. It'll probably be better than Batman v Superman and on par with Civil War.

It didnt make sense for WB to focus on films that are years away like Justice League or a solo batman film, it would have just diverted hype away from BvS and Suicide Squad. Those two films need to succeed and then you can start hyping the rest of the universe

I do wonder if Warner/DC changed their plans when Marvel decided not to attend.

Like could have easily pulled out the Justice League on stage, but with no Marvel could save that for next year since would potentially need to compete with Infinity Gauntlet and Guardians 2 cast

But why would you scale down your PR hen you had a chance to go unopposed. That's counter-intuitive.

I'm gonna give WB/DC full credit for doing a Suicide Squad movie right out the chute. It's not a move I would have expected. It would be akin to MCU doing a Thunderbolts without having any of that backstory.

Well, since Apocalypse doesn't have to deal with the time-travel shenanigans like DOTFP which resulted in (major) plot-holes, it certainly has a chance to be a quality title next year.
