At least they got Wonder Woman's outfit right. Joss Whedon's idea would have been fucking terrible

Yeah the outfit is great. Gal looks great in it, albeit on the skinny side. Don't know if she will be able to pull of the presence of amazonian the way Susan Eisenberg can with her acting though.

Recently recorded a podcast with my thoughts but I'll put one of them here:

What if that dream sequences (what we assume to be dream sequences) are actually a vision that Wonder Woman (or another Amazonian, or even a Greek Oracle) sees as a possible future, if current events are left unchecked and allowed to unfold to their conclusion.

Thus she is sent to Earth, under the guise of being an Ambassador, but to actually steer the major players (Superman and Batman especially) away from that grim version of the future.

I have no idea how well this film will do but 1 billion is hardly a lock. Superman isn't a mega-draw, post-Nolan Batman is a question mark, and moving it to March wasn't exactly a sign of confidence from WB. Hell, 300 million domestic isn't even a lock given Man of Steel's performance.

this is textbook example of living in a bubble.

That sounds awful, hope they don't go that route. I like the original Doomsday origin a lot better that that nonsense.

that's actually pretty close to Doomsday real origin.

I don't see this making 1 billion...maybe somewhere around 800-950.

The public's perception of Superman is still jaded.

Now, if BvS turns out to be a great movie and sets the foundation, then Wonder Woman and JLA will easily do 1 Billion

and what do you base this on?

Whatever this scene means , it is very clearly emulating something from the Red Son because that particular yellow tint is very very Soviet. There's quite a few Sovscope pictures with that grading and director's like Vertov , Sokurov , etc started to use it regularly to accentuate the harsher conditions of the environment (usually dystopia , mostly nuclear related and war settings).

It's an awesome nod by Snyder and Fong. Even the way the character pops over in the shot feels the same.

Yeah, isn't Doomsday suppose to be a Krytonian that has died a bunch of times? I wouldn't be surprised if they create him from Zod's body. Hell, that might not be Superman's eyebeams Batman is grappling away from.

Yes. He is Mr.Evolution. Ancient kryptonian created by an alien called Bertron.

Lttp on Age of Ultron, huh?

I am a little worried. And I know none of you guys are, just sharing my two cents.

I have nothing against Wonder Woman, and I think she deserves her own movie.

But I hope to god she has a fairly small part in this.

It was supposed to be "man versus god".

Not "man somewhat fighting alongside goddess versus a god".

She is far too powerful. She has magic powers, she can fly, she is nothing like a normal human. It completely takes the stakes away from the whole plot.

Batman can handle Superman on his own as demonstrated in the Dark Knight returns.

I feel like having another super powered being in the main story is only going to take away from that human versus god kind of epic fight.

Also people want the Flash and Aquaman....... It's precisely everything that can go wrong with this movie. If anybody has to show up, it's Nightwing. Men versus Gods. Not "every single super powered being around , and that rich guy" vibe I'm getting.

I'd love to see a Superman / Wonderman against Batman and Nightwing, or hell, spice things up to even the odds, Batman / Wonderwoman against Superman/Nightwing (since Alfred doesn't agree with Bruce he could have asked Nightwing to reason him).

Having too many super powers will ruin the conflict in my opinion.

And what in the world is so special about Superman since Wonderwoman can do pretty much everything he does already ? At least for the general public.

Probably that MoS made about 660mil and Rises was 1bil or so so it'll obvs be lucky to hit 700.

So the sequel to one of the biggest movies ever does gangbusters but the first movie in a franchise only does 660mil and that's a disappointment?

I mean i dont even like MoS but 660mil is a success by all accounts given the circumstances

Honestly, this was an amazing trailer. No doubt about that.

But after Man Of Steel (and every Snyder movie) I just can't believe the hype. I just can't. Maybe this bunks the thread and it's an amazing movie but yeah, I won't be in the theatre to see it.

Man Of Steel burned me enough.

One casting that's absolutely amazing is Irons as Alfred. He fits this universe' Batman so well. Love how he looks in the trailer.

It's still a terrible line. Especially the way he says it.

One of my biggest problem with MoS was the dialogue. No one has an actual conversation in that movie. Everyone talks in trailer quotes or exposition.

"You know the biggest lie in American history, Senator?"

"We know now, devils don't come from the hell beneath us, they come from the sky."

"Black and blue. Day versus night. Man vs god."

"The red capes are coming."

WHO TALKS LIKE THAT

+1

I was talking to friends about this yesterday, the dialogue is really awkward and Eisenberg's delivery makes it even worse.

Somebody please edit him out of the trailer, he brings it down a few notches.

100% disagree. Besides the scene with ma kent his parts of the trailer are probably my favorite. The more I watch it the more I like him. To each their own though.

She's getting her own movie. Nobody knows who she's fighting but to be thrown around like she is in the trailer, but there's little to indicate that it's either Batman or Superman where as the fight scenes show Batman taking on Superman so there's little reason to suspect Wonder Woman will choose a side. The three are the inceptors of the Justice League so if their planning JL her presence is a necessity to bring the two together.

CG doesn't look like a PS2 cutscene, but that shot of Batman grappling away right before the explosion doesn't look great.

Still a long time for them to touch it up, though. I do have concerns, if MoS is anything to go by. Watching that on a smaller screen, where it's a little easier to take everyone in, really shows some of the CG flaws in the battles.

Luthor will probably be providing the majority of the conflict in the story and will be the one pushing the plot rather than Batman fighting Superman.

The Batman v. Superman conflict, as in an actual fight, will probably just be a third of the film, at most. It would make sense to introduce WW and other powered characterrs after they come to blows once or twice.

And what in the world is so special about Superman since Wonderwoman can do pretty much everything he does already ? At least for the general public.

Superman is the first superhero they know and is a lot gentler and helpful than Wonder Woman. He saves people from burning buildings she chops heads off.

Eisenberg is looking even worse than I feared. Looks, line delivery, it's just awful.

Wonder Woman looks fine
Affleck looks great
Irons with kill it

The Batman v Superman parts will probably make up like 70% of the movie, while the rest is them chumming up and laying the smackdown on whatever happens to Zod with WW.

I think it's the rubbery animation in that shot more than anything that makes it look off. There's detail in the face, and the lighting, but he moves wrong.

I'll admit the CG character models don't in MoS don't look very good, but everything else from the environments, to the dildo containment units look amazing.

Calling it now: Eisenberg is gonna kill it.

He's doing the best he can with that dialogue, which honestly isn't any worse than the dialogue in Nolan's movies or most of the MCU.

For sure. As a card-carrying member of the "the Jurassic World CG will improve, trust me", I have no doubts it will be cleaned up. I'm just hoping it turns out a bit better than MoS.

The film looks grimdark and pretentious to the point of ludicrousness.

There looks to be exactly ten billion fucking things going on in this movie, and Snyder has yet to show he can pace or direct anything but the most simplistic of stories.

Gadot is a stick figure and has yet to show any acting talent.

Cavill is still a rubbish actor.

Snyder is demonstrating he didn't learn a damn thing from MoS action scenes with yet more shaky CG out the wazoo. He's has ample number of chances to show he can do films like these. He hasn't learned by now, what makes people think he'll suddenly get it together?

You know, the cycle doesn't work like this. You're not supposed to put all of it in one post. Let it run its own course naturally, otherwise it's just forced!

People saying it doesn't look like ps2 era CG, you're insulting the ps2.
