This is awesome. Really like seeing people who have never played Shenmue before back the game. Really cool people who want to help fund something people have been wanting for years. Looking forward to seeing how the day ends! Looks like it's moving along really well.

That's awesome. Well if the KS campaign is any indication, Sega would be downright silly if they don't release Shenmue 1 & 2 HD.

Unless there's some protracted legal issues, I expect to see this announced before release of Shenmue 3.

This is Sega we're talking about ... Honestly I don't have a lot of hope.

At least I still get to listen to the wonderful soundtrack for free on youtube

yeah, this along with "especially because you bought merchandise" were the main ones that stuck out. part of the problem with different localisation teams working on the game at once. most of the translation is fine though, main story stuff especially.

Some of the lines seem incredibly literal. Like, Ryo always replying "I see". Japanese people always say "sou desu" but to force the English version to say that as well just comes off as weird.

it's worth noting in an interview before the KS announcement, Lisle Wilkerson (Joy in Shenmue 2/Sarah Bryant in VF) mentioned that the English dub/translation direction was handled in Japan...presumably if it was done by non-native English speakers, that might explain a few things. Hopefully 3 is better handled in that regard.

I suspect as soon as KS is over they'll open up the doors to paypal and we'll see monthly updates. I do think they will go the Star Citizen route

Those two new goals feel half tacky, half fun. One fills a big gap an feels motivational, yet is it really so great ta break a record barely a month old? The other one is just... what. I'll still fall on the "all in good fun" side of things though!

I really wish the high ground battle system came before ragdoll/ai battles but I guess its the hardest/costliest ta impliment huh?

There are two $60 tiers now, one for PC and one for PS4. For everything else it'll be a survey after the Kickstarter is over, yeah.
