SHENMUE 3 kickstarter (PC/PS4) - FINAL DAY - NEW KS RECORD GO GO GO!

I've never played a Shenmue game but I think I'm gonna pledge $60. The positive feedback has been overwhelming and I can't help but feel like Yu Suzuki deserves it.

This would also be the first time I backed a project.

Total added last hour: $51,639

Average needed per hour to reach $6 million: ~$24k (will comfortably make it)
Average needed per hour to reach $6.5 million ~$95k

At the current pace estimated finish: $6.2 - $6.3 million

With the final tally of PS4 physical being 12k with the exclusive case, it's not difficult to see why they were hesitant. How are they meant to do a print run that small? Sony must be footing the bill for that one.

You're only looking at the $60 tier. Every higher tier also has the choice of a physical ps4 copy. I'm at 120 and will be getting one
 
Wow. I knew we would at the beginning at least hit the goal, but I never though that our beloved Shenmue, a niche game that has been dead for 15 years would go on to become the most successful kickstarter video game ever. After years of crushing disappointment but unwaivering persistence our little series has become fittingly the phoenix of gaming. There were those who denied the impact of this series and its place in the modern world, those who labeled it "a product of it's time", and even those who doubted a kickstarter would be successful.

Holy crap. "The story goes on..."
 
Pledged 60 bucks, hope to see everything with regards to this project come together. Haven't played the original two games so going to miss out on that but I can tell from how passionate some of you guys are about this its going to be a special game.
 
Just upped my pledge to $250, I just couldn't resist. I was glad to be a part of this with my fellow Shenmue Defense Force members!

There's another 18k people backing tiers higher than that, though, and I'd imagine (judging by the difference between the two $60 tiers) the majority of those will be going for physical PS4. I'm guessing it'll be more like 25k.

Ambitious, but I'd like to see it hit $6.55m to beat Bloodstained's record by a million. We need a big influx for the last couple of hours to manage that, though.

I keep trying to calculate how much more is needed until 6 million is reached but it's moving too fast. We need $158,087 more to reach $6 million as of my last attempt.

Ah good points. Hadn't considered that. But even still 25k worldwide with all the distribution costs across regions seems like such a hassle. I think we're really lucky that they're doing it for us.

You guys are awesome, as well as everyone else who is backing it having not played the previous games.
 
Wow, so nice to get home and see this development of the Kickstarter!

Bloodstained is down when it comes to pledged amount and only 370 backers left as well, Ouya no. of backers is down as well. =)
 
it seems to be moving at a pace that i think we could be at 6 million in an hour

Just pledged $100.

I loved the original Shenmue on the Dreamcast, but never played the sequel, even though it's been sitting on my shelf for years. My old Xbox broke and the 360 won't play it for some reason. Nevertheless, I feel like I had to do my duty for the community.
 
I finally got around to putting my $60 in for the PS4 physical copy. Wish I was rich so I could throw a ton of cash at it, oh well. Just happy to see one of my favorite games continue.

get both for $90, play the digital copy while keeping the physical disc sealed
sell in 2029 for $1k, donate $1k to shenmue 5 kickstarter
