That photo of Sahelanthropus is fucking brilliant. It looks more menacing than any other Metal Gear
it's amazing. The head is a bit too big though.
can we ride this thing?

What photo are you guys talking about?
This would explain why the French felt the story didn't live up to the expectable.
They missed the real fucking ending. The ending that reveals who Ishmael is, BIG BOSS.
THEY LITERALLY BEAT PSYCHO MANTIS/METAL GEAR AS VENOM SNAKE AND THOUGHT THAT WAS THE ENDING
Jesus Christ.
Look at its thighs. It looks like its powered by Duracell batteries!it's amazing. The head is a bit too big though.

So where is this Ishamel is Big Boss coming from if the guide doesn't specify who he is? Or was that wrong earlier?
Only open world's are Afghanistan and Africa?
Bummer.
Anything about bosses? Would love a boss rivalling The End.
1980s Metal Gear is now as advanced as something from Revengeance? :/
Yeah, but how many people saw the real PW ending? Hiding the climax of the plot behind side missions is stupid.
If big boss is Ishmael do we know who the player snake is or is that not confirmed yet?
To be honest, I think not playing as Big Boss is extremely disappointing. Like... what's the point? This was supposed to be Boss's descent into becoming the shithead in MG. Unless Ishmael is incredibly prominent in the story (which doesn't seem to be the case), I don't see how that Big Boss aspect of the story can be sold well. Of course, we don't have close to enough information yet, so I could be completely wrong.

The guy we are playing as can't be Solidus though... he would be way too old for MGS 2

Edit: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIT A SECOND. I'm not saying this isn't convoluted (obligatory lolmgs) but what if...the big twist...is that Big Boss never descended into villainy and he did something comparable to the Boss in terms of willingly let his reputation be destroyed (by the actions of Venom Snake) in order to serve a greater purpose (in MGS3 it was her patriotism and in this it's his wanting to avenge her/take down Zero) so it's not as "noble" as her sacrifice but it's part of him "losing it". I am thinking this through super quickily thugh....
I mean "Let the world fear us all, it's just means to an end" etc...
Why would you do that?
oh my god, I'm so glad it's an anthro mech. I've been hoping for a Metal Gear with human proportions for so long.
Edit: From the sounds of it BIGMGSFAN was only partially right, and considering he said his plot was a shot i the dark (IE beyond the hospital it was guesswork) itlines up a bit.
I don't think it's legit, but I like BigMGSfan's post about the playable character being a kind of rushed and defective clone of Big Boss. The horn is just a protruding bone and he's missing an arm because of shoddy...clone work. And the "coma for 9 years" is symbolic of 9 months to birth a child. Rapidly aged shitty clone or something.
Maybe we might at some point ~
Boss fights from Reddit thread
The bosses are Skulls (Fog version mission 1 and 6, Armored version mission 16, 29 and extreme 37, 42), Camo version mission 28, 46), Quiet (mission 11 and 40 extreme), Man on fire (prologe and mission 20), Eli (mission 23 and optional 113), Sahelanthropous (mission 12, 31, 50 extreme)
Doesn't the strategy guide go in line with stuff he said about Quiet? Except for Ishmael/BB since it's omitted from the guide.

People seem to forget that BigMGSFan was not only completely bullshitting (saying things like "you'll be able to encounter Grey Fox and adult Sniper Wolf in Africa"), but he was also found to be using bot accounts to agree with himself so it would be credible at face value. He even apologized for it on GameFAQS. Anyone throwing a dart would probably hit on a point that will likely happen in this game.
As far as the spoilers so far are concerned, has there been any evidence of locations other than the hospital/Afghanistan/Africa/Camp Omega?
So we should be encountering a young Frank Jaeger and Naomi at some point, or a reference to them at least.
Adult Sniper Wolf would make no sense, she wouldn't be any older than Eli or David.
However, Naomi told Snake in MGS1 that she was found in Rhodesia in the 80s by Frank, and then Big Boss rescued them both and eventually took them to America before he and Frank left again to continue fighting a war.
