The whole Medic is Venom Snake story element makes no sense. Mainly why no on noticed the difference, why they look the same, and why a medic had the skills to rival Big Boss. Or more importantly, what the hell is Big Boss doing all this time then.

It's Metal Gear, why wouldn't they be able to input all these skills into him? I mean... flying kid? Stopping a ship with one arm as a cyborg? Vamp that wouldn't die cause of nanomachines? Ocelot? Liquid = Miller?

Nothing is farfetched in this series.

My wall of text up above are what's confirmed up until this point from the guy who has the guide. The rest (including Venom = Medic) is speculation. I don't understand why some people can't comprehend what speculation is.

This is the English translation of the Venom = Medic theory.

It's all speculation from the guide itself, even they don't understand what the fuck is going on.

Note: At the request of Konami and Kojima productions, we cannot reveal the truth regarding the identity of ishmael. The final piece of the narrative in Metal Gear Solid V is revealed in a special "Secret" mission at the end of the main story. A reward for the fans. In this section we examine the evidence obtained before it.

They know and present evidence. Also bits and pieces from that same link.

in reference to the actual explosion from GZ and medic SHIELDING BB.
" This is not in itself surprising, since it's one of his most trusted men..."

in reference to the cutscene that takes place after the crash of the doctors trying to revive big boss.
"You only see the face of Big Boss and the right side of his head there are no splinters stuck reminiscent of a horn."

unless the guide is throwing is in a loop, they really made grey fox the medic and us playing as him

#pythonselkan won...

Err, what you just quoted IS speculation lol, who's the medic? Some random NPC from Motherbase? Consider that ground zeroes takes place immediately after the end of PW and as far as I know Grey Fox wasn't in PW, so there's that thrown out the window.

I think the guide is throwing us for a loop, in a big way.

Okay. No one really knows the truth. The Guide ASSUMES Ishmael is Big Boss -_-

However, even if we believe that there are two Snakes in the game, it really goes way back. Could Hayter be in it, voicing the real Big Boss?

The guide assumes nothing. They know his identity, they just aren't allowed to say it directly.

Both the medic and Venom Snake are dubbed by Kiefer. Akio Otsuka still dubs Snake in Japan. Let it go ♫

What does Grey Fox not being in PW have to do with anything? Considering how much PW wound up overriding PO, it was only a matter of time before Kojima would deal with the one big character that has yet to be explored on his own terms.

This. at kojima's and konami's request they arent being direct. However, they give all the evidence for it. So we will see what is actually true because i can nearly guarantee the game is gonna leak next week anyhow.

I've just given up with following the story, too confusing to care.

That's why I dare go into this thread lol.

I'm just hyped for the game itself, looks so fun!

I'm also referring to the cinematography of the escape scene ending of GZ. And the "kept ya waiting, huh?" stuff.

The kept ya waiting was fourth wall...just like in MGS4 when the installation sequence finished (I think?)...and the camera movements...KOjima said he wanted the camera to have more active movement to give the feeling of being a participant in the scene rather than steadycam type wide shots or tracking shots etc. It's a mix.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask. I've been purposely avoiding the game so I know as little as possible. But I've been playing through Ground Zero to prepare myself.

How similar are MGS V's controls to Ground Zero? Is Ground Zero a mission within MGS V?

No, GZ is a seperate mission. It was originally going to be like a pre credits sequence to TPP but Konami...the game was taking so long...Konami...etc.

As for the controls it seems there are new movements but otherwise it controls almost exactly the same. For instance when dropping from a height BB now apparently rolls as he hits the ground etc.

Gotcha.

The carnival of stupid side of my mind was thinking "what if BB is with you all the time" or something.

Lalalalala not looking!

Someone PM me how many confirmed bosses are in the game. Real bosses not PW vehicle shit.

Actually don't give me a number, tell me if there are at least 5, just a yes or no is fine.

The reddit user who's gotten everything right so far, said Solid was in... At the very end and in one more special instance

I mean honestly BB vs Snake would be a franchise megaton, if they don't cover Ishmael's actual identity would they show something that big?

At the very least after the soundtrack leak I kinda think we will see Solid defeating BB with "The Best Is Yet To Come Playing"
Even if its just a 100% ending special.

like posters have said already, MGS games don't usually give us multiple locations

only 4 really did that
and I'd say it suffered immensely for it

The "main" locations of the prior games though tended to be a lot more varied, whereas Africa and Afghanistan look pretty uniform and bland, IMO.

Eh...I get how the comparatively micro-locations of Big Shell, Shadow Moses etc can offer variety in terms of each room being different and not copy/paste etc and MGS4 had different locales but I feel with MGSV you'll only know how it is when you play it.

Plus YongYea said for him the distance between A and B was a tad big but theres a lot to do so it's alleviated somewhat.

Seems like an older Big Boss to me.

That potential time jump seems so much likely, at least to me.

Link please?

Apparently, Ishmael is the real Big Boss, Venom Snake is a half Baked clone who has bone protruding out his head and no left arm. The final battle is supposedly Venom vs Big Boss.

I always wondered why this horn looked so out of place and why he had no scars.

IMO, Kojima literally copy and pasted the horn on there, just for the trailer to convince everyone he's Venom Snake. This is actually the real Big Boss. This scene is at the end of the game, and he doesn't have the horn there. Instead of "Diamond Dogs, our new home", Kiefer would say "Outer Heaven, our new home."

LOOK, this is the leaked achievement, "the man who sold the world"

WHERE'S THE HORN???

I know it's nothing to do with spoilers but I really want to know about the soundtrack. I really liked MGS 2 and 3's soundtrack but was quite disappointed with MGS 4's OST.

WHERE'S THE HORN???

Was just about to post the link to that achievement since I noticed that a few weeks ago.

It definitely lends some credence to some of these spoilers, at the very least the fact that you're probably not playing as the real Big Boss.

WHERE'S THE HORN???

Edit:yup

Truth be told, the big boss on the bike always came off as different from the ones we were shown in the trailer... More confidence... More sure of himself.

Christ, he totally SOUNDS different too.

He actually does sound more like Kiefer's Ishmael, and not Kiefer's Venom Snake.
