People were like "MAN FUCK THAT IF IT AINT THE BB THAT MEANS HE AINT EVIL", but making a clone and then having him murder his whole unit and do a bunch of terrible shit all for revenge something in league with other MGS villains.
 
Come to think of it, I believe in the first trailer, there was a woman's voice who stated "V has come to." I wonder who this character could be? I don't think it's Quiet however.
 
Honestly, if Venom ended up not being Gray Fox and an entirely different person altogether, and real Big Boss kills him at the end of the game, after all you accomplished, that'd write BB off as a true villain.

Okay, if they actually go a route in which BB reveals that he planned all this deliberately before killing the actual player and reaping the rewards of your hard work then that would be pretty good.

I'd rather see him leave a revealed gray fox for dead. Make him an even more tragic character.

And then? We get to play as the real Big Boss. Diamond Dogs turns into Outer Heaven. We get to replay the missions and do side ops as the real deal. We become the villain.

Best case scenario.
 
All this awesome stuff we're going to learn about BB in TPP (if true) makes his death in MGS4 suck a bit.

How does a guy go through all this, then decide to just accept his clone's bad breath?

From what the guide says, it kind of is a bit, just without the medic being Fox. Also I didn't say I predicted it right, just that I was close so laugh all you want.
 
This new level of the twist. It all sounds crazy., but good.

Big Boss is truly an absolute monster, he's become the very thing he hated in his quest for revenge...

Edit: I want the credits to have a camera panning around Kaz as he plays the violin.

Was mainly referencing the Gray Fox bit, since you've been talking up the fact that we're playing as Jaeger a bunch so far. If you're talking about the fact you mention potential body doubles, then fair enough as that seems to maybe be the case. Anything and everything about you playing as Gray Fox is still a complete unknown. I've not seen his name come up in any of the confirmed spoilers or screens, so I'm way more skeptical about that.

Not quite. LET was not born during the 9 year coma. LET was still back in 1972 before Peace Walker. Miller mentions the sons (clones) in a tape.

This is my theory from a few months ago, I posted the link above.

The ending of Ground Zeroes Sees Skullface attempting to kill Big Boss even after the conversation he has with Paz where he says he will leave Big Boss alone.
We all know that Cipher wants to kill Big Boss as well.
Because of these two men Big Boss goes into a coma.

There's a theory about Ishmael being Fox as well. So we will roll with that.

While BB is in the last years of the coma Kaz decides that when BB wakes up he will not be safe to Run Diamond Dogs while he is still being relentlessly hunted by Skullface and cipher.
Kaz decides to use Frank as a body double so when BB eventually wakes up Cipher and Skullface can continue their hunt of BB but in reality it's Frank and not BB.

This would explain why Ishmael still has bandages on (to hide his fake identity) in the hospital when XOF raids it looking for BB.

BB decides to continue with Frank being a body double while he goes after Skullface and build Outer Heaven in secret.

After this point we STILL continue to play as BB and not Frank/fake BB.
All Frank will be is a plot point and nothing more.

Ok lol, I understand now, I didn't actually think we'd play as Frank/Fox earlier on in the thread.
I just remembered my body double theory and posted it here. I'm kind of sad it could be true now though.

I don't know if I'd necessarily be ok with it, but it completely depends on execution. End of the day though, what has me most excited is the game itself. Who I'm playing as is less of a concern when I think of the fun I'll have playing the game proper.
 
So what's the general consensus without entering into story details? Big Boss, as has been presented in all media so far, isn't who we might think he is?

I read the page scan/photo and the mission objectives and translated them in to English via Google. It didn't say anything about 'floating boy' but it did say 'boy'. I wonder if it has been mistranslated/misunderstood. It would make more sense if the final fight was against kid liquid, and we've seen him getting in to the cockpit. Can anybody shed any light on this?
