Rewatched the Hospital-scene.
First mirror is 100% the avatar we ourselves create. When he says "This is you". The hair is clipped short. The mouth missed scars and is much wider. Faceshape doesnt match either.
Then we get to see our Venom Snake with "This is you now."
Interesting.

So basically the end twist is that WE, the players, are the character that replaces Big Boss throughout the game.
I remember reading a spoiler review that said that the game's ending contained a "massive fourth-wall breaking" moment or something like that. I guess that's it. This "Big Boss double" is actually the player.
So this is why the DNA is not a match, interesting

The DNA is not a match because Liquid and Solid aren't perfect clones. Only Solidus' DNA matches Big Boss. This was a big part of MGS4.

Yeah I suspected it already, since the game opens up with face creator stuff. I guess its the player. And Mission 46 will probably reveal that + Ishmael being Big Boss.
For story purposes a BB clone can't be a female, ofcourse.

I also think such a stunt would be lame, but ever since it's been hinted that we would be playing as a double, I've believed the plot would be lame anyways. I really, REALLY want to play as the authentic Big Boss.
If we are truly playing as an avatar, then I will be greatly disappointed with the story.

BB gives the player a URL to visit and sign up for Outer Heaven. Logging in, we find out this is Konami's new ID system for MGO. Minds fizzle.
But shouldn't the dna be at least a partial match? I mean they have the Genes of BB, so there should be a match, only not a 100% one.

Dont you think this opens up the theory that Hayter will return as Big Boss? I know for a fact that you are a big Hayter fan [so am I].
Even getting that hospital mirror scene spoiled still has me doubting that we don't actually play as BB.

So this would mean that Kojima wasn't bullshitting when he said that he was the third person in the operating room scene from the trailers ;-)
In TPP, Eli test his DNA, and it shows he is not a LET (or Liquid) But now that is seems you are not actually Big Boss, it makes sense that it doesnt
I'm a massive David Hayter fan, but I'm sure he won't be on the game. Here on GAF I'm part of "Team A", not because I believe he will appear, but because I wished he would.
However I'm certain Hayter won't be there.
Definitely. That's my current theory on the whole body double thing. It is us, the players.
I don't like it. Not one bit. But I think that's how it will go.

I actually think neither Ishmael nor Venom Snake are Big Boss. If you look closely, Ishmael has both eyes intact and Venom has his eyes too, although one of them seems blind. Big Boss's right eye literally got walloped by Ocelot in MGS3..there is no way it's going to be intact.
I still think we are being trolled and Big Boss is up to something else.

I am still hoping though but ye, the story does not seem to have a place for Solid Snake. I wonder how this game can be ever called a closure to Kojima;s legacy.

A company being excited for their new game is a huge slap in the face to all the fans that liked their old games.
I would love if MGO let us use the camera to scan our faces. That would take player customization to the next level .
Venom Snake has a glass eye or some sort of Kojima prosthetic, likely to hide his true identity. Ishmael is likely the medic from Ground Zeroes due to the voice and his close relationship with Big Boss (he'd want to watch over him). This is what would happen if the story was good, though. We'll probably be told that it's the random MSF soldier who was aboard the same helicopter as Big Boss and the medic at the end of Ground Zeroes.
At the end of the day there is absolutely no way this plot point is going to make sense if it's not Big Boss.

Kojima going on stage with that Ismael mask on makes sense now. I assumed it was Ismael because....well, it had bandages and everything on the mask. However, Kojima taking the mask off, is a little like when the doctor takes off the bandages from Venom Boss face. Then saying something along the lines of "This is you now".

I keep day dreaming about how cool that would be, to have your fave in the game, but I doubt the Fox Engine is THAT flexible.

I was watching the mirror/YouTube clip... When Ishmael answer Ahab, he says, "you're talking to yourself", in a way that's self reflective... As in, "I'm talking to a guy that looks like me". When Ishmael dies, it causes a Time Paradox.

I would really, REALLY hate if any more clones are involved. Liquid and Solid being clones of Big Boss in the original MGS was ridiculous enough. Then Solidus comes along, and I'm all like "Well, another fucking clone. Ridiculous, but cool I guess".
