Well, we're talking about digital publishing here. I don't know when or if Shovel Knight will get a retail release in Japan, but I doubt they'll have much trouble finding a partner.

On the Yacht Club Games website, under the trailer newspost, they talk about the nindies@night and say "Join us live on stream" so I assume there must be some kind of stream

NOA didn't even mention the latest DLC was coming until the day it was released, we only knew what was in it from Nintendo of Japan's Twitter, so they don't always hype Smash announcements.
They at least hyped up the Smash Direct, which basically advertised itself.

Yes, they announced they got a publisher a while back. Someone here said it was 8-4, but I haven't found any source to back it up as of yet
Well...considering Lucas was coming that same month as previously advertised, most thought he would be released that week. Roy and Ryu coming as well was a bonus.

I was talking about the two N64 stages and Mii costumes at the end of July. We found out about the release date from NoJ's Twitter and NoA didn't mention anything. We didn't even know when the DLC was being released in America because only NoE had commented on its release. NoA said nothing until the DLC was out.

It hasn't been officially announced but they've let slip a couple times. (Maybe on the IGN Nintendo podcast? I can't remember right now.) I think they were talking about it at Tokyo Indie Fest or some other Japanese event, also.
If people are salty about the thought of Shovel Knight, just imagine the outrage if hes announced. All the Nintendo fans waiting years, even decades for a character just to see a brand new Indie Character get in........
Hard times for Nintendo lately.
Then again they are giving us an Animal Crossing board game literally no one wanted.

That depends, really. If Shovel Knight looks cool in Smash and the trailer is hype, I think people will quickly accept the idea. Not everyone, of course. And even if there's an outrage when/if he is announced, by the time Smash 5 is announced, people will be asking/hoping that Shovel Knight isn't cut from the game, lol.
I blame amiibo buyers/supporters for that.
Yep. And there will be tons of Shovel Knight fans who will be ecstatic about his inclusion if this is true.
That's how it is with every character. I can never be upset about a character's inclusion because I know there will always be people who are thrilled about it.

Exactly. I'd prefer Bomberman or Simon Belmont, but Shovel Knight would be an awesome character and a really cool gesture towards indie developers.

That was a shared page between NoE and NoA, and based on the release date given, it was NoE that made the post. The update launched the day before that FB post said.
They've been answering questions all day yesterday.
Probably it's old at this point, but just to reiterate in the case
This is the week when they'll unveil the promised "megaton", among other things.

Right on! That's the correct mindset to have about Smash reveals. I couldn't care less about Ridley or K. Rool, but if one of them got in, I'd be really happy for their fans instead of bitching about why my character didn't get in first or how my character is more deserving.
That said, I've been extraordinarily lucky with Smash newcomers this time around. I got almost every single newcomer I really wanted including my dream character (Mega Man), and now there's a chance of one of my two ballot votes making it in as DLC!
The lack of the Chorus Kids or any other Rhythm Heaven rep will forever burn, though.
Hmm, Derrick? I'm not sure he cares about Shovel Knight being in one way or the other. On the other hand, given how unbelievably hyped I am about anything and everything related to Shovel Knight... I'm going to be freaking out in the discussion we'll have if he's announced.
Oh, that's more just him not liking Smash rumor speculation in general. I think he/we have been burned by so many convincing fakes at this point that he's just gotten tired of them. I love this constant rumor mill hype, though.

Before you made your video there was a conspiracy going around Reddit that you guys couldn't make a video on it because you knew about the DLC and were under NDA and couldn't mention it. And this confirmed the leak.
