The install is buggin for a lot of people espeially if you rush into playing the game before it finishes installing.

Take the disc out.

Delete the game from your PS4.

Put the disc in.

Leave it for 15-20 minutes.

Boot it up again.

Can I do this without losing my save progress?

So far:

Pros:
-Mission formatting like Peace Walker could get addicting
-this large amount of freedom is kind of interesting in a Metal Gear type of game

Middling:
-Graphics aren't really wow-worthy to me, at least compared to other Metal Gears where when they came out I was just dropping my jaw a ton near the beginning

Cons:

-Fuck checkpoint saves so fucking hard
-Prologue needs some fucking cutting or changing or something, jesus
-STFU Kaz while I'm listening to tapes
-Maps aren't nearly as tightly designed because of the open world nature
-Open world but not really is kind of strange... Had one mission where there's no reason why I would go past the enemy in that direction, but I couldn't go out of the mission zone the other direction... for no real reason known to me

Overall it's alright. I'm not nearly as in love with it quite yet as I was with nearly every other Metal Gear when it came out. I'm still kind of worried they basically figured out the elements I like least in a Metal Gear game and emphasized those things.

Seriously posting ending spoilers? We have a spoiler thread for a reason. Yeah they are tagged but why even post them here the day the game comes out?

third mission. extracted every single soldier until it told me I took over the base. non lethal, never detected. C rank. I don't give a fuuuuuuuck

-STFU Kaz while I'm listening to tapes

This wouldn't bother me nearly as much if the game automatically paused the tape for you when they started to talk, but no, I have to rush to the tape screen and pause it myself, also rewind a bit after they shut up.

I actually like the dialogue and even the idroid voice many people seem to dislike, but having to rush to pause the tapes all the time is annoying.

Now i realize why the hint section during loading lasts till the loading is finished. Deciding when to continue with a button after that gives you way too much time to read all that is available. Spent a good couple of minutes in there.

Bought this as a birthday gift for a family member but seriously considering keeping it. It's huge!

it becomes more bearable later, when Miller/ocelot feel less need to constantly shout at you

This game absolutely need either a button to instantly pause a tape or have tapes with talking pause automatically if someone is talking to me because having to fumble around in the iDroid and finally get it paused in time to miss both of the things being said is already really annoying and I'm only four hours in.

How about the left side of the touch pad? Itc current function is what the Options/Start button is for.

Is there anyway to snap to cover, or have a button to get into cover?

Not really a fan of having to mess around trying to hug a wall.

It should have been triangle. They could have had some other way of jumping over stuff.

Basically this. I shouldn't phrase that as STFU Kaz, but more: Why the fucking fuck don't the tapes stop when Kaz is talking!?

how do I connect online in the game? I'm trying to download GZ data and it says I need to go online from the Aerial command center (ACC)? Help!

Hmm, for some reason, the game doesn't recognize my Dual Shock 4 anymore when starting it up - why?

I'm using the optimized settings in GeForce Experience now.

Played three hours so far, and oh my god it's so damn good. I'm a bit daunted by just how much stuff there is to dig into here, it's like Peace Walker on steroids.

My only real complaint is
Snake just doesn't talk anywhere near enough. I don't know if it's because of Kiefer or what, but the 'silent protagonist' stuff isn't working for me. He doesn't even comment on seeing Ocelot again, which was really weird. They don't even acknowledge that they've met before outside of one of the cassette tapes.

Is there a reason not to just Fulton everyone you knock out? I'm trying to see the downsides of this since it seems so overpowered.

When the environments get more dense and dangerous, Fulton becomes a real liability. You have to lug guys 200 yards away from a heavily guarded base just to get them away without alarm.

He lacks a lot of character that Hayter had. And half the time I don't even realise its BB speaking on the tapes. =/

Its actually my core disappointment for this game and won't get better with time.

(Posting for Posterity)

Haven't read a single line of text within this thread. I've been avoiding all information like the plague. Picked up my copy today after work and am getting ready to play. This is mostly for my own gleeful excitement. I christen this post as my first foray into MGS 5.

V Has Come To V.

If you're within 30m enemies can hear you and will check the place where you fulton'd, if they see the fulton they'll alert everyone to be on the lookout, but other than that, fulton away the only limit is the amount of times you can balloon people before you run out.

I've got an mgs pw/gz question I'd like answered.

If Paz was imprisoned at Camp Omega by Cipher and Skullface and Cipher are enemies, how did Skullface and his crew come to take over Camp Omega?

Didn't they pose as a CIA sanctioned outfit (which, by extension of working for Cipher/The Patriots) they technically were?

OK, so I got some impressions:

1. I quite literally always thought Hayter sucked, but holy shit, his absence is really striking and it sucks.

2. I'm a huge FarCry 2 fan if that means anything to anyone, and this game scratches that itch like a motherfucker.

3. I've been playing since midnight and I'm still playing. Shit's fucking gold.

So far after playing through an intro on part with FF: Type 0's tedium the game itself feels like Farcry with the leveling having been replaced by shitty mobile game mechanics. I'm going to wait until I'm in a better mood before playing it again, but grumpy me is not digging it so far.

fulton aint free, so while you need the numbers early on trying to fulton everything will cost a bomb. plus the fact that if you get caught...
