So I'm confused. I got D.D. and have done 4 or 5 story missions and several Side Op missions, yet I still can't use him as a buddy. I've seen people say they were using him as early as mission 6, am I missing something?

What the fuck is going on here? I've been waiting for 15 minutes and it's still stuck on this. I restart the game, skip the first cutscene after the prologue, and get the same damn thing.

I do appreciate Ocelot's sniper warnings, though.
It's because Kojima wanted this outing to be like "24"/Keifer's TV show. So these missions are like "TV episodes" where they get credits at the intro (main mission) and outro (side ops)

Any chance you can give me an exact number or a rough estimate? Also, do you mean literally standing in Mother Base, as in, I can just leave Snake standing in MB when I'm not playing the game?

It's worth noting that it also shows the name of other integral staff. When I look at the box for the game I always notice there's no developer on there. It's strange, but something about that really bothers me. I don't think I can pick another game from my collection with no dev studio on it. If this is how they want to give the staff the credit they rightfully deserve then power to them. It only takes a button press to skip anyway so it's not like it intrudes too much.

I think I understand why some people adore this game while others hate it.
This game is essentially Ground Zeroes turned into a full game. Now there is nothing wrong with that. Ground Zeroes has arguably the best gameplay in the entire series. However, Ground Zeroes lacked some things that made Metal Gear...well...Metal Gear. First off it wasn't as cinematic as the previous games. Yes, Metal Gear is infamous for having ridiculously long cutscenes but people actually enjoyed them because they were so widly entertaining. There is also the matter of the game's just not taking themselves too seriously, you were essentially playing an 80's B-movie. Ground Zeroes changed those things by minimizing the cinematic aspect outside of the intro and outro, making the game be in a much more serious tone (at least in the main mission), and doing a bunch of other little changes as well (such as Snake essentially being a silent protagonists). Because of this I can understand why some people dislike this game.
Personally I am in between with this game in terms of it being amazing or a disappointment. I need to give the game more time before I decide where I "fall".

Bah. I did like 6 or so missions and unlocked the ability to expand mother base and now my game freezes after the loading screen. Just a black screen and i can do nothing but alt f4 out of it. So sad right now...

If I want to go back and complete secondary objectives for a mission, do I have to complete the whole mission again or can I copter out after doing what I need to?

I agree with most of this aside from the serious part, at least in terms of gameplay. This is the least serious of them all. Horse shitting, decoy dummies with your tagline, anime posters, boxes with girls on them as a distraction, etc.
The problem is, it takes a few hours to get to that point. So the first mission feels too stifled until you start building your base out with rad shit.

When you're switching out weapons or developing new ones?
Magazine size / total capacity (New weapon's mag size/ total capacity)

Remember that roughly 40-50% of the game will be collectibles and stuff.

Played the first couple missions... I really don't understand why reviewers and LPers couldn't talk about the intro. Bummed to see that so far TPP continues the trend of "man this would be cooler if I hadn't watched trailers" that started with GZ. Really hope this has some curveballs in store...

Yup. Just select them on your map.
I don't even know if you have to do that so long as you complete the objective.

Damn, D-Horse controls like shit. People were saying best horse in any game. Red Dead is definitely better, hell I'd say Roach from Witcher 3 is better too.

found the prisoner in mission 6, put him down to fulton him but i look away from a moment to fiddle with inventory. 3 seconds later: prisoner has died -30 heroism

I think he controls alright, nothing in comparison to RDR but Roach? Controlling Roach is so bad I just stopped using him altogether, I ran everywhere.
