Yeah you can just exit the mission and come back later. Just wondering about this mission
what happens if you choose to/use normal weapons to kill her?

Just have to come back later. The
tip use supply drops worked. Knocked her out in two. Saved me aggravation.

Am I right in thinking, that the camoflage system isn't as good, as in Snake Eater and Guns of the Patriots? I kind of miss the OctoCamo but is okay with it not being there, as we are back in the 80's but I don't understand why they didn't go for a camo index percentage again.

It's there but you don't have a percentage now, it's based on visuals more. Also based on how much you are moving or how fast your are moving.

I can get pretty damn close to someone if I am in prone position and moving slowly with the right camo. But I use the sneaking suit most of the time as the pros of it outweight any cons, if I want to hide I just use a cardboard box instead for the appropiate location

Is the voice on the iDroid saying "emeny" instead of "enemy" when it locates nearby bad guys?

Sure sounds like it

Lol

So I got help from an undocumented buddy.

Diamond Sheep.

It took about 20 tranq rounds to the face but I took down a bear and sent it back to mother base. The boys are in for a surprise when they get that delivery.
Yeah, I came across that one before the Side Op. Went down a lot easier too.

To me I just think they've reached a point in being able to convey things through sight, sound, and effects in this game that they hust don't need it. Not once in this game have I felt like I haven't had the tools I needed to not get spot. So the camo index number was just more clutter they didn't need. I much prefer it this way.

The only thing I miss sometimes is a mini map. But with the marking system it's not really necessary. It's jind of weird that they put so many things on your map screen though that they expect you to actively check, like enemy routes and such.

This game is so damn good. Witcher 3 is now my favorite game of all time, and to get a game like MGS 5 in the same year is just incredible. This is a top 10 game as well. What a great year.

I don't think I've played a game sequel that is so completely divorced from the appeal of its predecessors since FFXII.

And I came to love FFXII.

Is it really not possible to start a mission without weapons? Or atleast without a primary one? Would love some old fashioned challenge to sideops!

8 hours and only 5% completed, finished episode 6. Awesome game.

But I had a problem in episode 6.
I failed about six times to beat Skulls and tried to restart from check point after the seventh failure , but I respawned at outside of the fort and Skulls' fight was ended without any cut scene or like that... and rode the chopper, mission completed. I had very strange feeling.

Anyone having same problem?

It doesn't have a cut scene anyway. You just leg it and the mission ends.

Well that was odd. I told DD to bother an enemy and I tranqed him and his buddy, but they kept shooting at DD until he got emergency extracted.
At this point, both of them dropped unconscious at the same time. Weird.

Now take this with a pinch of salt, as I'm totally tone deaf. Also, if it's true, it's likely someone has already beat me to this.

Does Quiet hum along with whatever music tape you're playing? Pretty sure I heard her doing it while free roaming with her. The song was Maneater.

They were ashamed of their words and deeds.

Did anyone else trigger episode 11 early?

I had 8,9 and 10 left to go and didn't even have episode 11 on the list. I chose to do a side op for a Stun Arm and then after riding my horse down a road boom episode 11 happens. I've noticed this with side-ops too. Some missions seem to just activate when you're within a certain radius.

I just stumbled upon mission 11
Quiet
but don't have the tranq sniper... Can I just leave and come back? Don't know what to do.

Is it possible to
kill her with a normal wep?

Yeah, I beat her pretty easily with a sniper rifle, doesn't alter being able to recruit her or not.

Has anyone had issues on PC with some iDroid screens taking forever to load/never loading? Randomly happens to me.

If you are connected to Konami Online stuff then iDroid menus can take forever to load. Disconnecting from that Online stuff should give you responsive menus back. I also noticed longer loading times into missions etc. when connected to that Online service.

I've got 10 hours on the clock and I've only beaten mission 5 so far lol. The transition to an open world and the updated controls and mechanics are a HUGE upgrade over the prior games in the series.

The plot delivery and drama has taken a backseat though in it's sacrifice but I'm fine with that as long as we get a little theatrics soon.

This is really fun though, I wasn't expecting much after ground zeroes but this is an easy GOTY contender for me (though I suspect Witcher 3 will still be it for me)

I honestly don't know yet what to think of this game.

The prologue was absolutely phenomenal, without a doubt the best prologue of a game ever in my opinion. As engaging, full of suspense, atmospheric, fun AND dark the prologue is, what follows isn't really...not yet that is. The moment we see the open world it felt very different. Now of course liniar versus open world is a huge difference, but i am not sure yet if open world design works for me in MGS.

It actually feels really similar to the Batman AA versus AC en AK thing for me. With that i mean i really enjoyed AA a lot more than AC en AK because of the liniar approach. I absolutely loved AC's intro, but as soon as Bats was let loose in the open city, the greatness was soon gone for me. It's hard to explain but i do know one thing, i was instantly hooked on MGS3 until the end, MGS2 in many ways too, but not yet with this. Not a fan of the whole...credits each time after finishing a mission either.

I did see some of the earlier videos from Kojima just now and i noticed that you simply must create the fun yourself. Tackle these rather straightforward objectives in different ways with different weapons and items. I just think that at the end of the day i highly prefer MGS3's approach to level structure or however it's called. On top of that i just am not fond of this setting, give me a jungle or big military base over this any day.

That said, it's probably too early to say anything else, i'm gonna play it a whole lot more, cause there must be something i'm missing here. I am not a hater of open world, in fact in some games i love it, like Witcher 3. But there seems to be little going on in this big environment so far.

Yep. It's like Kojima heard the complaints of "Too many cutscenes, all Kojima wants to do is make movies" and decided to prove them wrong.

MGSV is an amazing game. I definitely miss the crazy super long cutscenes but it probably meant that Kojima didn't have much story left to tell anyways. I'm happy he just made an excellent game.

yes that's one way to do it. Some are even random so you ocul dbe doing them before they even open up for you by normal progression.

I still say there's a lot of story there, but rather than doing it in Codec they've done it in cassettes. There's a lot of details you'll get from those cassettes that add so much to the world and the story. I honestly recommend not skipping them. I usually listen to them as a breather between missions.

Snake eater. Menus menus menus.

Ah okay. I had no problem with it, but I can surely understand where you're coming from. :)

If Ocelot, Miller and Big Boss' voices would just be more distinct. I still have trouble hearing who is speaking but sometimes I get it.

Really need some help with one of the important side ops late in the game, so if you haven't got far in the story don't read this. If anyone who has completed and can help, I'd appreciate it.
Number 144
Secure the Remains of the Man on Fire

Where the hell is it? I've cleared the outpost and interrogated all the guards and I'm no closer.

Request a pick up to head out on a mission, get a close look at snake in the chopper and realize he needs a shower, back down we go!

I really need to check before heading out.

OctoCamo was terrible, it was like playing Snake Eater with Action Replay.

I kinda like the UI minimalism of the camo in TPP, you still need different types of camo for different environments.
