I seriously don't know, but it's very heartbreaking.
That sucks, dude! Sorry to hear about it. Are there any backups? Not sure, but the Steam cloud might have one if there isn't one physically in the folder.

If you ever figure out what caused it, give everyone a heads up. I think we'd all appreciate it.
Soldier needs D-dog then

Bingo.

whats the way to increase the bond with D horse his the only one I don't have maxed ...

Riding him and generally making use of him. That's all I've done and it's gone up every so often.

Just got into the whole mother base building aspect and this is already on the way to my favorite MGS gameplay wise. It marries pretty much perfectly what I loved about MGS, Crysis, and RPG type mechanics to build your character and base to keep me interested.

I almost had a heartattack when a supply drop landed right on the head of D-Horse. Thought he died. Thankfully he got back up.

People keep saying the missions are filler and get boring. They must be approaching them the same way every time, because I have found the way the actual missions play out to be one of the most diverse in a game in recent memory. There are literally dozens of ways to approach them and for shit to go wrong. I haven't had one play out the same.
Agreed. Though I'm still early, maybe side-ops start repeating the exact same scenarios after a while. Still I don't have much fear it will get repetitive, there's so many different approaches to try.

Soldiers don't magically spaw at bases. There can be support send from other bases or wandering patrolling soldiers. There are often two that wander around between bases or/and two in a car.
So there are soldiers randomly walking the countryside? I didn't raise any alarms and soldiers appear to just come out of nowhere after I've scouted everything.

I don't like how enemies magically appear out of nowhere when I'm infiltrating a base. Just extracted the Russian Spetsnaz commander and am 100% sure I cleared a large amount of the base, taking most people out and I turn around and I see 2 or more soldiers patrolling where I just came from. Feels almost like it's cheating against me. Ugh.

That doesn't happen, to my knowledge. You can always find one or more patrollers outside the camps.

I'm unable to score higher than a B for some reason. I'm always pretty stealthy, rarely triggering alerts. I just did a mission where the goal is to kill three commanders. I extracted all of them without an alert. There may have been some abuse of reflex mode, and one guy did have to take a bullet to the face, but all in all I'd give myself an A. GZ was much more forgiving.

Are you supposed to sell all precious metal?

It's used for some items, like a battle dress upgrade.

Side Ops are padded like a motherfucker. More than 10 missions that consist of extracting a prisoner/extracting a soldier/taking out some heavy guards. The general mission and base design is incredibly well done, as expected from KP, but the Ubisoft-style bland open world with repetitive tasks kinda sours it.

So the stealth in this is awesome and the A.I. most of the time very good, i like it. This....was damn fucking weird though:

I entered a building through the window, through the glass with all the noise that comes with it. A guard was right in front of me in that building with his back turned to me. The guy must have been deaf though, cause he didn't notice this at all. Yet he notices it when i accidentally stumbled upon a small bucket outside. Da hell? Really freaking odd, in no way a game breaker but come on...i am going through the damn glass window son.

Okay, since I have no idea when or how you find Quiet, I'm getting a bit nervous that I missed her. I have done the first 7 story missions and half a dozen side ops. I don't wanna look it up but I'm getting wesker snd weaker. Can someone just tell me I'm fine please?

40 hours into the game, and I had no idea there was fast travel. Not even an explanation or tutorial pop-up explaining it.

There is in fact a little tutorial pop up. Maybe it doesn't pop for everybody or it's too vaguely worded so a lot of people don't click it but it's definitely there.

You're fine.

Played a few hours with my girlfriend tonight and finished Episode 20. My episode reaction follows:

Man, that was creepy. I think my girlfriend was legit freaked out about the scene with all the bodies as she went from making comments and jokes about it to dead silent until we got on the chopper at the end. Immediately thought about the Water Gun when the Man on Fire showed up but should've known that wasn't going to do the trick. Liking that things are starting to pick up again, story wise.

Douchebag. Yes, me.

Also, the reinforcements come from neighboring outposts. So if you get rid of all the guys in connected outposts, no reinforcements will show up.

I don't know if glass windows alert guards, or have a very high alert radius, seeing as there's no option to slide a window open to enter.

I seem to recall breaking a window and not really getting a guard reaction, but that might have been just one time.

Don't know if it was said but any hints on trailer song tapes that I can find somewhere? You can hint it as a spoiler or something

You'll only use about 5 of the weapons anyway, probably, so it isn't a big deal.

It is to me ;__; I'll never get the satisfaction of using a 100% replica of the m1911.

I generally liked knowing what guns I was using, in peace walker making the carl gustav was amazing for me because I was playing bad company 2 at the time and the CG in that game made people mad so it's one of those things you know? It doesn't really matter but it make a bit of a difference.

How did you take him out? I ended up using the jeep to ram him into the pool of water.

Yeah, they don't notice the glass breaking. I guess it saved them animating opening a window or something. It always makes me laugh in the barracks, there will be a guy sleeping and I just burst in through the window and he's still snoring while I put a bullet in his skull.

Lmao, on a scale of 1 to 10, how ashamed are you of your words and deeds?

But I can use tranq and lethal weapons while on Horse. Punishment is irrelevant because people just ignore Horse. And no damn way is that robot stealthier. Guards spot me a mile away on that thing while I can pretty fucking close without getting spotted on Horse. 🐎4eva

The Walker was 60 tranq ammo, it can use CQC and if you evolve him, it can become stealthier, use video camera on his head for spotting easy. He's pretty damn good, I enjoy him, just like the rest. The horse is only useful when I need to go fast but it's impossible to invade anywhere with him, on the other hand D-Walker you can invade anywhere him, at least I was able to invade a supply depot and tranq everybody without them seeing me once.

I love how the AI goes into sniper defense mode when you're taking them out from a distance and they can't pin you down. On the mission where you have to take out the tanks and the commander, I stopped the caravan with C4 and then ran around the village on the hillside firing rockets from different positions. I had the enemy tanks just firing shells in my general direction but they never knew exactly where I was. I was dealing with dudes running in from the sides while I had a long distance explosive battle against tanks shelling a village hoping they hit. I took them out without even triggering an alert. It was fucking awesome.

Also the tranq sniper is a dream come true. When you have to infiltrate the large base on the first African mission, I took out 75% of the guards from 200m away while they ran around in a panic. I walked in through of field of sleeping dudes to set some C4. I got spotted on the second objective there but still.

Just had to quit mission 8, i have no launcher so
the tanks got to their destination and it was just impossible.
I don't think I'm cut out for this game lol

It was pretty funny after running around like a headless chicken trying to figure out how to beat him lol. Knocked him down once, he started getting up like a Terminator. Hit him again and sent him flying into the pool.
Did you not realise there where
tanks of water
to shoot? your way is so much cooler though

Ok regarding Side op 48
how many darts do I have to put in this friggin bear? Shot it ten times and it didn't even flinch. Come back later with upgrades?

Darkness no more
I am getting worried. I keep sending these massive amounts of Russian guys back to my base and they automatically agree to start working for me. I think they are going to band together and destroy me soon.
