Tips on the extreme Quiet fight?
What I've most trouble to understand is Mantis.
Its said that he's used as some sort of catalyst for hate. And Volgin wanted BB dead. But he was in league with XOF, probably also through Skull Face who also powered Volgin through his hate. Therefore SF must've been close by in Cyprus, according to Ocelot. Yet Volgin's the one actually saving BB from execution, by killing XOF forces. Thats weird.

The idea that he was ever a bad guy seems somewhat retconned. Yeah he was trying to create his own nation but he was also one of the only people in the world that knew The Patriots AI was about to gain total control over everyone. Considering the future that played out in 4 with people controlled by nanomachines (people unable to even say the word "The Patriots" for instance, which is also kind of analogous to some of the ideas in 1984) it's hard to blame him for rebelling.
This is just my interpretation but I thought it was Zero/Cipher (Sigint and Paramedic at this point I guess) controlling him. I can't think of anyone else since it doesn't seem like Skull Face ever even knew Mantis was there.
The one thing I wanted this game to answer was why Big Boss was working at Foxhound while also running Outer Heaven and in the end it only made that entire situation a 100 times more convoluted.
Where are people getting the idea that Venom creates Outer Heaven as some sort of psychopathic version of Big Boss's vision?
I still just don't really get Big Boss' character arc, I still can't see how he is set up to become "the bad guy" for Metal Gear 1 and 2 really =/
And the building Outer Heaven thing sounds so trite, when we don't see what Big Boss is doing in the game's events, I mean surely that's what we've spent the game doing all this time? =/
But there's a good 15 years between MGS 5 and MG 1 so there's room to pad it out more I guess.
PS: Seriously, there better be a reason for why BB and VS have the same voice, that's ridiculous if not!
is it just supply drops that damage quiet? i'm half tempted to drop a tank on her for laughs.

nah i meant like dropping things on her. is it just supply jobs that do the trick or can i crush her with a jeep for humming to loud? i busted her ass from a distance with the tranq pistol because i'm big boss damnitI think you are supposed to have some sort of sniper duel with her or something but everyone on the internet realized supply drops are the mlg pro method.
Like on one hand, it's cool and pretty daring that the ending of this gigantic jillion dollar game hinges on your knowledge of an MSX/NES game, but that's about as far as the novelty stretches.
sutherland sounds sinister as fuck in the tape to venom. something is definitely going on in regards to when big boss says "what you were meant to do?"
i don't know how much but something important other than mission 51 was definitely cut. chapter 2 in general feels like huge chunks are just outright missing.

oh god. maybe the truth ending was just a place-holder because of no time/money being left.To note: it was seemingly intended to end with a MGS homage, but they ran out of all those gigantic jillions of dollars.
You'd think selling an overpriced demo earlier would have helpedTo note: it was seemingly intended to end with a MGS homage, but they ran out of all those gigantic jillions of dollars.
The moment Venom goes crazy is missing.
I don't understand anything about what they were trying to do with Ocelot. He might as well had just been another character entirely. Its more than just Troy Baker's take being completely out of sync with Zimmerman/Keaton, its everything about his personality and characterization. I get no sense that this person is the same guy from MGS1-4.
more likeMGS1-4 Ocelot: Greetings.... friend!!! *mffmfmf* It's time you see.... THE TRUTH.... *mffmfmf* Excuse me... *flips guns three times* I was just busy chewing this scenery
MGSV Ocelot: howdy there friends. let's set a spell and i'll tell y'all bout the boss and what he's done. and if you need any advice, glad to lend a hand
What's with the random shot of NYC at the end?

kojima opened the mouth of metal gear canon and tossed a grenade inside.
The moment Venom goes crazy is missing. Or extremely well hidden, I really want the context for this scene.
Disappointing that seemingly so much was cut, especially that groundbreaking feature that was getting hyped for importing a GZ save.
Metal Gear as a series has been going for nearly 30 years now, but we've never really actually gotten a decent look at Big Boss as a villain. The original Metal Gear games are so far removed from what the series became starting with Solid it's hard to reconcile them as even being related. That's part of what makes the end of V so frustrating - we'd finally see a villainous Big Boss in better-than-8-bit detail.
Like on one hand, it's cool and pretty daring that the ending of this gigantic jillion dollar game hinges on your knowledge of an MSX/NES game, but that's about as far as the novelty stretches. It's a bad ending that leaves the whole 30 year run, but especially the Solid run, without a satisfying main villain. It's their own fault, too, because he became less interesting as a villain the more they tried to explain him with PO, PW, and TPP.
more like
"A Soviet solider-"

Oh shit, we got Evangelioned! D:
Oh yeah, these are missing =/
What feature?
No, please no more Metal Gear Solid! The plot line is a gorgon knot at this point. This seems like by far the most logical way to end the game, and yet we don't have it.
I don't even care if Kojima isn't doing it, we need a Metal Gear Solid 6. MGSV, while a phenomenal game, leaves too much stuff just frustratingly hanging.
Which reminds me: man, I really wish Ground Zeroes hadn't been cut out separately now. It would have been a much better way to get into the action quicker as an introduction, made the hospital intro less of a chore to be played through to get to the actual game and more of an interesting change of pace, and also would have kept all the medic/helicopter/MSF betrayal crap front and center.

Don't know the specifics, but Kojima was hyping it up about how it was only possible through video games. Could have sworn that having extra missions at Camp Omega was one of it.
I'm so disappointed they made Ocelot as forgettable as they did.
There's nothing. No cockiness. No reloading fetish. They don't even set up things like the 'Target Practice' side op as you competing with Ocelot's best times, or anything.
It sort of works in the sense that he's a spy, so he should have a fairly malleable personality, but no personality at all shows in MGSV.
I'm hoping MGO imbues him with something.
Liquid being involved in the attacks in MGS lore. In 2000 he joined Foxhound. In 2005 he was in Shadow Moses. It could be but it would be a bit too controversial.

Yea I wouldn't be surprised if I found it during one of the main ops or side ops. It seemed like it was supposed to be the most powerful scene besides hallway scene and subsequent scene with the ashes.I'm pretty sure I came across the spot that showed all those bodies burning while playing, and then I thought something was wrong because I never got that cutscene.

YesDoes anything happen with Paz after showing her all photos?
Now that I've thought this through a bit more - Big Boss disliked the idea of cloning himself so much that it basically started a war, but was totally cool with another human being surrendering up his past, present and future so that he could sound, look, and act like Big Boss?
Also - Kojima thought it was totally cool to reuse Ocelot's poor explanation for being Liquid in MGS4, even though everyone hated the fuck out of it in MGS4?
