Yea but I don't think he convinced anyone. Except if you think about convincing everyone that Venom was the real big boss, in which case it's still odd to call himself Man who sold the world. Just an excuse to use the song I guess.
The reason why I said it doesn't fits is because it plays in the credit with Bowie's rock music, I can only imagine Bowie in his funky persona when this song gets played. If only this game had a real OST.

The birthday scene is the one thing in the game that has given me real feelings. It's super cute.

A Burning Escape, Parasites, Metallic Archaea, Sahelanthropus Dominion, Sins of the Father, Quiet's Theme and Ground Zeroes are all fantastic tracks. Not as good or present as other mainline games but still pretty great.
Then he mourns over his fallen comrades for one last time and in doing so his shrapnel once again gets horny...errr grows into a horn.

I'd hardly call them fantastic, not a single piece in this game has had the same impact on me as the music from previous games that I still remember right down to their tone till this day even without listening them for so long. It doesn't hold a candle to the pieces from previous games. Infact even after playing for close to 60 hours the only two original pieces I can recognise are Quiet' theme and Sins of the Father (which is good cause Donna Burke is amazing)

It's one of the most awkward villain and hero scenes i've seen in awhile because neither of them talk for VS not talking for five minutes while Skullface monologues is directly followed by neither of them talking, the song placement felt obligatory compared to other times in the series a theme was used to enhance the moment.
It is a nice moment, I wish the game was filled with those kinda moments to make me care a little more about Diamond Dogs. I still care since it's MY army but the best part of open world games for me is the fact that they can include more downtime moments.

And I feel like the only one who enjoyed MGSV's story at all.
This is a far better OST than what Peace Walker and MGS4 ever got, imo. Between all of the 80s music, the BGM, the theme musics (like Sins of the Father and Quiet's Theme) and the cutscene music, it's all very good stuff, just more subtle than previous Metal Gear music.

Wouldn't call the original soundtrack better than MGS4, as in not including the licensed non-covers. Music overall maybe. It's decide your own track in the field.
MGS3 used its tittle track while you climb a damn ladder and yet the placement of it felt more fitting than this scene in MGS5.
It's not better than MGS4.
Harry Gregson WIlliams is not here and it shows, while MGS4 had him.
Remember that insane grind you had to do to get Hero codename and achievement? Well now throw it away for these nuke related achievements!

Luckily I love doing random side ops and missions, so I don't mind that grind at all. But fuck losing all that. Wish I could find Kojimas FOB and nuke it.

Ever since MGS2 I've thought that the only way Kojima could derive enjoyment from writing Metal Gear was to make it as ridiculous and far-fetched as possible. There's only so many times you can write a story about James Bond vs ED-209. It's true that his work prior to MGS2 was more traditional and easier to suspend disbelief for.
Whether at Konami's behest or not, it's not the first time Kojima has released a hugely unfinished game. Gamers had to wait a year for the PC Engine version of Snatcher to find out what happened in chapter 3.
Sadly that may never be the case with TPP, which is a shame since it really does lack a clear and impactful ending. I still love it though.
Up until now we've only ever seen Ocelot putting on various acts as double and triple agents or suffering self-induced schizophrenia. The Ocelot seen in TPP is as close to the real Ocelot as we've encountered, doing what he's doing out of sincere reverence for BB and his ideals. So I can buy him being a bit less theatrical. I thought it was a good performance, and I enjoyed his disdain for Huey/France/Miller's hot-headedness.
How does this happen? I've beaten the game, but haven't seen this.
The entire segment with killing your own soldiers and the funeral after was actually pretty well done. I feel like it's something that would've benefitted more if Skullface was still alive though. The characters are left feeling down and ready for revenge, but there's no one to take it out on. Hell if they were going after Zero that would be great too. There was no drive at all in episode 2. It felt like a series of dlc remix missions with small little arcs for the side characters peppered in between.

I actually don't blame Konami, it's Kojima's responsibility to deliver on time and if he couldn't then he shouldn't have bitten more than he could chew. No need to open new shit to resolve old shit.
He never really spins his gun or juggles or shows us bullet ricochet and does a failed delivery of "You're pretty good" ...so he loses out
i dunno, i think both are ultimately to blame but we have to remember that konami is definitely not an employee-friendly place to work. if the reports about it are believed to be true, there's a tremendous amount of red tape along with the previously mentioned draconian surveillance of staff. that can't have made things easy when it came to creating a game of this scale.
I wonder if Kojima ever tried to get the rights for Metal Gear. Kojima is pretty much responsible for the entire Metal Gear franchise (including hiring the key people who worked on it) and he didn't even own it. Working your entire life on a series that you don't even own from a studio that you don't own despite having your name on it seems like such a bad idea.

I just got a cut scene with code talker at MB, about Kaz. Is there still more story to be done?
Unfortunately, I don't think any developer/company would consider it a worthwhile purchase. Better to let Kojima come up with a fresh idea and market the shit out of that.
probably not. i don't think he ever really expected things at konami to change so radically that he'd have to leave the company. japan has a mentality where you work somewhere for life, even still now to some degree.
metal gear is pretty much done for at this point, along with everything else kojima has touched over the years. kojima and other top kojipro brass leaving has pretty much nailed the coffin shut on konami's games division. silent hills is dead. enders project is dead.
i got a little sad when looking through the emblems. there's a boktai reference in there. clearly someone on the team if not kojima himself is super fond of boktai still. then i realised we'll never, ever see another boktai either.
Is this post-Truth? What happened in the cut-scene? Could just be one that can trigger at any time.

Don't worry your not. I did too, I just knew that throughout the whole scene VS didn't give a single fuck to what he had to say. If it wasn't for Miller saying "listen to what he has to say" VS would have shot him right then and there on the rooftop.
You'll lose 50,000 hero points and become bloody all over to the point of not even a shower can help. Your horn will also grow bigger. All can be fixed when you gain more hero points. Also, your FOB is open to a nuke attack if you make one by someone else who has a nuke, it'll wipe everyone who is on your FOB if used. So, leave it as a last thing.
My take is Kojima took to long and Konami didn't care as much as they did back in the day. However, he'll still be there at Konami till December so who knows what's going to happen. Not putting faith in anything though.
Codetalker tells VS to keep an eye on Kazuhira, a message from the parasites. Before VS approaches him he says to himself secret meetings between containers in the day and that Ocelot is missing shots today if I remember correctly.

You have to leave Mother Base for a while before she'll accept another. Do a side op or something.
ultimately, what's there that can be done in the four months until his contract is up? they already played their card with mission 51 being on the CE disk. kojima is likely on paid leave or checking up on MGO.
it hurts that a game with mechanics so good suffers so much from being content incomplete. at this point i honestly wouldn't feel pissed off if they sold more story content as dlc, but that's not happening.
even the truth mission, arguably the most important narrative mission, is just a replay of the tutorial. not even the tutorial from ishmael's POV.
i really enjoyed my time with the game and is still a 10/10 to me on the merits of the best stealth action mechanics in a video game EVER, but after the credits roll for the first time we've got a game that was stitched together in a hurry to make it for release.

That's kind of how I feel. There's just these unresolved threads and massive amounts that seems to be missing.
Even when Venom picks up the tape "From The Man Who Sold The World".... there's a gunfight going on, but there's no context for it. It just feels like there's a massive section in there that's missing, as well as Mission 51. I'm not sure who is responsible, but I also find it hard to blame anyone specifically.
yeah. you can't just pin the blame on kojima or the corporate entity of konami, but in kojima's defence i can't imagine he's pleased with the fact a pivotal mission like 51 had to get cut. if you read his tweets you can see he talks a lot about the gameplay rather than story. that's what he's most proud of and where his priorities went.

Ofcourse it's big now but I am talking more about MGS1 time he could have probably gotten hold of the rights somehow before MGS1 or so.
Yea MGS is dead now, I doubt we'd even get second grade MGS from other teams now that Konami is all about mobile.
